This was my home town. I grew up there and lived there from the mid forties until the seventies. It breaks my heart to see it like this. It was a lovely little town, with a lot of nice people living there.
Amazing video Keith! I grew up there in Itta Bena and seeing this video brings back a lot of memories. Currently I am living in Washington DC, and it is not a day that goes by that I do not think about the "Home in the Woods" Thanks for sharing your trip to my hometown; a lot has changed, yet a lot have stayed the same.
I love finding and photographing abandoned things and small towns, so your videos are always a pleasure to watch. And your photos are excellent ( I love the old sign and the water tower!) Thanks for sharing your explorations with us! I hope you're doing well.
I was hoping you would have visited Leflore school in Itta Bena. We used to visit every summer up until "91". This place looks completely different. What happened to all those people that use to live there?
My deceased husband Jerry Thomas grew up in Itta Beena. Took me there a few times. I don't remember it looking this bad. What happened to Itta Bena? It's heart breaking
I don't understand why you would show a building and not show the writing associated with that building don't you want people to know what you're filming or is it more important for you to just show an abandoned building you need to get your focus
I'm sorry but I don't understand your criticism. I showed whatever was there. But my focus is to make photographs of these buildings before they are gone, which is what I do. I'm sorry you didn't like the video, but thank you for watching nonetheless.
I did like the video I never said I didn't like it I just wanted to read that writing and then you move the camera. I like to read I'm sorry that wasn't your focus but I understand thank you
Took the main road through the delta in the 90's hwy 82. From ms to Arkansas what a ride thru the cotton fields etc.

The people still seemed very nice from my time there! And still proud of their town!
I lived there for 15 years at 304 center Street before we moved
Hey thanks for watching - I hope you enjoyed seeing the town.
Heyyyy Larry, Center💙😘😔😘

Thanks for watching

I’m so glad you enjoyed the video! All of my Delta videos bring similar reactions. It’s a much beloved place and I certainly enjoy going myself.
I grew up on freedom st lol
My grandma grew up there! This video was very interesting to see and get a glimpse into where my granny lived as a youth. Thank you!!
Another awesome exploration with Keith!! Love this
Thank you!
It’s amazing been a long time. 🙏🏽🙏🏽❤️💯✝️thanks for sharing this video ❤️❤️❤️🙏🏽🥰🥰💯💯✝️👍
The firestone sign brought back a lot of memories for me too, I can see why you took a photo of it.
Mike
I love the old signs, but places like this have so much texture!
Randomly looked this place up since my Grandmother was from here before she moved up to Roseland, Chicago for work.
This was cool.
Thanks for watching! I'll bet she had some stories to tell.
My grandparents were from here as well and migrated to Chicago. Chicago is where my family lives today.
I was born and raised here.
Such a beautiful town...
It really is!

Great documentation of days gone by.
Thanks a lot George. That place is a little like a time machine.
😢 painful reminder of the south’s horrific past.
Sadly that's very true.
The entirety of itta bena isn’t abandoned I go to university there lol
What’s it like there? It looks like it has its own beauty to it but it seems so abandoned.
Yes you’re right of course! I think my videos make it appear towns are dead when they’re not. I liked visiting Itta Bena
I own two Airbnb's in Itta Bena. I host people from all over the country.
Itta Bena is a junk yard ghost town now.

My family that grew up in Itta Bena was Thomas' - I wonder if there is any relation to your husband.
Remember! Jesus saves, but George Nelson… withdraws!
