Normally I hate clowns, and honestly, that Jack in the box is absolutely terrifying, but between the scene where it was struggling to fit in the vent and when it started clapping, I found it stupidly adorable. It went from scary to goofy and I love that because nobody has made a killer JITB/snake thing before.
They sort of did back in the 80's in a really boring and cheap Full Moonroductions movie Demonic Toys.
Huh... Go figure. Thanks for the bit of knowledge. I may watch it solely to commentate on it with a friend or two.
The only Clown I like is the Joker because DC is awesome.
@@peterpine5298 but we are not talking about the joker LOL
I did
Der Klown was definitely the most creepiest character and thats why people love him!
I absolutely loved the clown monster.
+No Good Usernames Left Although the Gingerbread Men were my favorite (I tend to like monsters who work together as good buddies. I don't see that often enough in monster movies.), the Jack-in-the-box WAS awesome! It moves and eats like an anaconda and the end of its "tail" has the still-playing music box reminiscent of a rattlesnake's tail.
That and the angel I love these two monsters.
+No Good Usernames Left I like the monster teddy bear
I wonder what THE clowns whole body looked liked under THE sheet and cloths
+DJ Studios Well it's basically like a snake creature, so I assume all the cloth is its skin and underneath it is its insides...
I love it that they're bringing back puppets and animatronics to movies instead of all just overused cgi
+harlett- o-scara right
+Mr Slappy Sure cgi might be good, but using puppets and robots is good and really awesome. I'm not offending cgi by the way.
YES!!
Reminds me of Jurassic park
+Mr Slappy Sorry but CGI is a cheap and lazy way to do movies. Puppets, animatronics, makeup, models those are skills and makes the movie more interesting. If you were a low budget movie then yeah you can go with CGI but most of the times they will get bad reviews. Not saying all CGI movies get bad reviews.
I liked how they reimagined Krampus.. I love how they added elements of St. Nicholas, and then added animal like features.
This movie had gorgeous effects and was overall so spooky and awesome. Great job to the entire team.
+BHM Productions The Jack In The Box was my favorite monster.
yep
Ur totally right:)
I know
I love the jack in the box
These are all probably the best horror movie creatures I've seen in a long time. Because it's not all completely CG and how they made REAL art by hand. And I liked the movie, but I wouldn't call it "shit your pants terrifying" but it certainly is a fun watch.
noremaCW
If these people don't get an Oscar for costume design I'm going to be very disappointed.
me too
Me bloody too!
+The Cinematic Mind does the 'bloody' really necessarry ?
Adam MF II Yes. It was awesome!
+Adam MF II 10/10 for grammar wow 👏🏼👏🏼
the possessed Angel prop is absolutely beautiful!
Man, this movie was a blast! I had a lot of fun with the awesome effects, the wonderful creative creatures and the great cast also having a good time plus the perfect score. This was a delight, go see and support it, because it deserves it. One of my favorites this year.
This movie was GLORIOUS. Really amazing. Thanks for your talent.
This was the best horror movie I've seen in a long time! GO PRACTICAL EFFECTS!
Same
Octavian Kaul jkhykhgjnghjfrh
Yes 😃👍✔️👌🤩
THIS is the reason why CGI can never, ever replace practical effects. Knowing there's something in front of the camera actively interacting with the actors on screen makes a movie 100% more interesting to watch!
I really really love this movie. Feels like a throwback to 80s horror with the effects. I watch it every Christmas now.
The clown monster was amazing. I love any thing that makes me go
"No no no no no 😣😣😣"
When I first see it lol
The puppets were probably the best part of the film. My roommate and I just completely flipped to see actual puppets in a creature flick again. They were both creepy and funny at the same time.
I want those krampus claws
There is a video of how to make finger extensions out of Popsicle sticks by "Gary Fay" on UA-cam.
Love the looks of this film, really glad they use practical effects for the beasties. Great job on all the hard work your team did for it.
0:48 i love that scream i dont know why.
I would say that Teddy klaue is one of my favorites too in the movie
"Instant classic" is an overused term these days, but I genuinely think it applies to this movie. Definitely a new Christmas tradition in my household.
Vel Sparko hello
Same
I can't believe I freaking missed my chance at seeing this in theaters.
Jupiter9099 no rbb
Jupiter9099
Jupiter9099
Me too
I don't think this movie would have worked if not for the decision to use as much practical effects as possible. WETA will always be the absolute best at it's craft!!
Angel and Elves are the scariest things in this movie. The cookies are the most hilarious things you'll see in this movie.
and the jack in the box
right XD
It's so amazing! It has to be part of the oscars!!!
My sister: I want a baby teddy bear! And an angel doll!
Me: I want a bear that murders people with 200 sharp teeth. And an angel with claws and feathers on their wings.
THEY DESERVE AN OSCAR
These guys helped with Tintin, Avatar, lord of the rings, and the Hobbit
I'm from new Zealand

The Yule Goats (the animals that pull Krampus' sleigh) don't get enough love.
Weta is such a fantastic company, I love the artists working under this roof, so much talent.
Brilliant movie. Absolutey love the creepy ambience of the sets and the whole feel of the movie. Nightmarish indeed and a Must Watch for me every year.
It's great to see that the art of practical effects is still thriving. CGI effects have their place, of course, but nothing beats good old-fashioned physical effects to achieve that look of physical presence and weight.
i love you guys so much. i still remember having a super long conversation with richard taylor a few years ago at CCEE with a friend and it was such an amazing experience.
This is a Monster movie, not a horror movie. I love it.
I like the idea of Krampus using a scissor lift to get up onto the roof instead of magic.
IM SCISSOR LIFT CERTIFIED!!!!
This film needs a sequel and a prequel
I feel it would unfortunately be bad. This is an amazing single though!
"looks like martha stewart threw up in here"
accurate representation on how i decorate my house
Incredible movie your team need to do more of these type of films !
I love love LOVE the movie! At first I thought it was all amazing cgi because barely anyone uses animatronics but to learn this! This is just amazing! To be completely honest, the clown to me was terrifying. You all did an amazing job with everything. I applaud you!
I like it how the ginger bread men were cgi though it really gives them the cartoony and naughty effect
Krampus is my favorite movie
The director has another movie aswell
Krampus was one of the best movie of the year for me.
Muppets/animatronics were amazing.... that scene when elves come was pure awesomeness... also that toys fights ;D
Can't wait to rewatch it on blu-ray
My dad showed me this when I was 5 I still remember it to this day
This answered my question about Luke and that suit, jeez that was a lot of weight. IT was Awesome!!!! Scared me to death when he came out that chimney
really
+Syrika Powell OMG SAME!! I had an idea that he was going to come down the chimney when listening to the soundtrack. But DAMN I have NEVER been that scared of an on screen monster as much as I was when he came down that chimney!! They really milk his entrance and you just freeze when you see his horns emerge from the fireplace. I thought I was the only one.
I love this movie! It was an awesome throwback to 80's creature features. I miss practical effects and this movie deserves way more credit for bringing this sort of thing back. At the same time, watching this featurette sort of ruins it because it might take me out of the movie the next time I watch it. Knowing exactly how the effects were done kind of spoils it. If you really like this movie you should check out "The art of Krampus". It's a hard cover coffee table book full of concept art, background information on the film etc. I can't wait for mine to get here from Amazon.
I love the movie so much but I don't see how this vid ruins it and if it ruins it for you don't have to watch it if you don't want to.
@@steeter6 I forgot about it now so it’s not ruined lol. I still love this movie 5 years later
@@Grim528 Same it's one of my favorite movies theres also Coraline, Clue, Nightmare before Christmas, and The Crow.
@@steeter6 Wow I was just talking about Clue. Time for me to watch that again. And yeah NIghtmare before Christmas is amazing. I haven’t seen the crow in 20 years and I’ve yet to see Coraline. I will change that soon
@@Grim528 I know there such good movies I love the crow so much tho it was so sad what happened to Brandon Lee
I watched this for the first time tonight and loved it. The practical effects were the highlight for me. Such gorgeous designs and so well executed. The skill of these people is incredible. Practical forever!
it was kinda cheesy but I loved it XD. jack in the box was my fav lol
Falcon's Cry same
Falcon's Cry his name was Der Klown 😂
The teddy bear is definitely my favorite, I want one so bad
Might be my favorite Christmas movie, it’s such a creative and beautiful film!
the exciting stuff in the movie is towards the end when they went in the attic and the cookies on fire the jack and the bock was a bit of a jump scare to me
the monster that scared me was the jack in the box and the ginbread weren't scary but they were funny
+Austin Kellahan the angel one was the creepiest to me!
dion staples lol that thing was weird but not scary to me
The elves were the creepiest
This movie was awesome. So glad the filmmakers decided to go with practical effects rather than CGI. The effects were absolutely fantastic!
The film is amazing
I love the back story for the elves it’s pretty cool.
My favorite creature of this movie was the toy robot
It wasn't even scary just hilarious and action packed I really liked the way Krumpus looked
it's not scary but a good movie
You guys are awesome I love your movies
Seriously, you guys really hit it off! I love it! Keep up the good work!
this is thee most different scary movie iv seen in years...........I LOVE IT!!!! #1 best movie in my opinion. good job and skill and creative work. I watched it in theaters 2-3 times. it is that good!!!!!!!!
the designs in this movie were amazing! I want all of them!!!
6:51 i just started singing a whole new world for no reasion and i cant stop laughing
Horror and comedy are two genres that don't usually go together, and they somehow made it work
Random BEAST omg have you seen scary movie or we are the blacks
Amazing!! I love the movie!
The dark elves are kind of terrifying, and also my favourite, and I like the way how is the to
One of The most Creepy/Beautiful Horror Movies Ever. Alongside The Newest Halloween (2018), The Newest Friday the 13th, and The Newest Friday the 13th. Very Well Done.
THE JACK ON THE BOX IS ADORABLE
The killer teddy bear was the scariest of all the puppets
I love the Intro Scene Song...
Working there would be so amazing.. Or even interning!! It looks so amazing. When I grow up, I want to intern there if they have them.
amazing stuff. watchin this gave me the biggest smile on my face.
Do you know any place that would show a more in depth of how krampus's claws were made? Those finger extensions were amazing.
IKR
The elves looked great
Who else would buy toys of these things? I'd buy the robot and I don't have space for it.
+flair541 I'd buy the terror bear and a toy of Krampus himself. I'd also pitch in a few more for the robot and the clown.
Josh Sauer The clown?
yea, why not? I think it would be an awesome toy to have!
Josh Sauer There wasn't a clown in the movie
yea there was, the Jack in the box.
some of the best horror movie practical effects in the last twenty years
God the scene where the gingerbread man and elf or clown or some other toy pulled Howie up the chimney was just to good and violent! Really good work!
This is actually really awesome
6:28 true Christmas spirit
6:28 that’s awesome but scary
which movie think it's awesome and cool Krampus or Star Wars? to me krampus I would give it 10 stars and Oscar for it.
+kanna231 speaking of those two movies, I literally was more hyped about Krampus more than I was about Star Wars.
I love the teddy 🧸
'It looks like Martha Stewarts threw up in here'
BEST QUOTE EVER!
I kinda wished the other toys like the ones in Krampus’ sack were shown how they were made-
1:19 “Dark Elves”
2:06 “TikTok/ Toy Robot”
2:44 “Perchta/ The Cherub”
5:02 “Teddy Klaue/ Teddy Bear”
6:48 “ Krampus “
9:04 “ Snowmen “
I hope they make a krampus 2!!!!
I wanted to see this movie so badly but my parents wouldn't let me.
Can I have the jack in the box clown suit thingy to wear for scaring people? Or at least the head so I can make it's lower jaw totally unhinge.
Hyper Space yesss
You really think that they will just give it to you?
All time favorite movie I could watch it all year round
This is TRUE movie magic.
The rule should be... "if you can film it, *_film it,_* don't pollute your film with CGI crap."
Even though they're creating horrible things, I would absolutely love to be apart of designing this stuff. That would be a dream!
i love this movie sooooo much. krampus is done very well ^^ and i love the fact that my mom didnt know his legend XD so i could tell it to her ^^
I love this movie it was one of the funniest and scariest movie I've seen in a long time
I watched the movie in theaters last night. It was sooo hilarious!!! But at the same time, so terrifying!!! It is a fantastic movie!!!
krampus is my favorite horror movie
This is better than comedy, laughing non stop. How is this scary? :)
My drama teacher said before this film came out that she wished to have a film come out without overused CGI and Krampus gave that to her, such an amazing film
I’m short so I took advantage of the elves being short as well and I dressed up as one for Halloween and scared the life out of a lot of people
they put. a lot of work on this movie 10/10
I really love the snowmen
🎵🎶believe in Santa clause, like I believe in love🎵🎶
Finally a time where practice effects gets noticed....
My boyfriend Dominic loves this movie he already knew about Krampus years ago. And he s so glad that they made this film on the old legend tales what have you. We had to buy a copy of Krampus as soon as it hit the stores Dvd. I have to say i thought it was okay myself. He hopes that they make a second film and this time they show Krampus face under the santa mask. In fact he has already made two home made custom figures of krampus. And he hopes that they ll come out with some figures from the film of Krampus and some of the other monsters in the film also.
