Sir Nick has a lot of good ideas. I hope the government and other organizations will listen and get involved in the restoration of this houses. What is the point of declaring Quiapo a heritage zone if all you can do is watch the buildings deteriorate further?

Hopefully, the conservation advocates would tie up with PUP History students in spearheading the campaign to national and local governments, and international and local benefactors in facilitating the restoration of the entire Quiapo as heritage zone. PUP History students are very assertive, results-oriented, and resourceful in conceptualizing, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating their projects💜

I genuinely had a great time viewing this episode, and it gave me a glimpse of hope that in the future, Quiapo and all its historic houses could be preserved and restored, allowing the entire nation to grasp the significance of our rich history. I propose that you, Fern, motivate Sir Nick and occasionally remind him to compose a letter addressed to either the Prince of Monaco or the Prime Minister of Monaco, urging them to save and refurbish the old and original consul house of Monaco in our homeland, so that it can be maintained as one of the ancestral houses in Quiapo.

I love old houses, it brings me back down memory lane. Just like the suggestion of Sir Nick, the government should help preserve old houses in our country to instill pride of our cultural heritage. I remember in Las Piñas City before, the local government offered tax incentives for keeping & preserving old houses. Likewise, it also encouraged the use of old architectural designs in the building of new houses & other structures.

Laking Quiapo po aq,nkikilala ko cia lalo ng kbstaan nia.
Inaantay namin ng Japanese friend ko yung bahay sa may likod ng DLSU (or tabi?). Back in 2018 kasi nilibot namin yung mga lumang bahay dyan sa manila, pero di namin kinaya lahat mapuntahan, saka pabalik na sya Japan nung time na naisip namin gawin yun. Kaya nung nadiscover ko tong channel mo back in 2022 ata yun, Metropolitan Theater yung feature mo noon, talagang nahook ako Fern and I shared it to my Japanese friend and maski di nya naiintindihan, lagi syang nanonood. Pero if I remember correctly, ang una kong panood sayo is yung nag cover ka ng clearing operations sa isang sementeryo haha. Not sure if ibang channel yun or tinanggal mo dito. But anyway, avid follower mo ko, Fern. Now my mom and tita here in the US is also watching your every upload. Looking forward sa mga darating pa.

I went to St Rita College from 2nd yr to 4th yr hs, and everytime na makakadaan ako sa street nila sir Nick noon lagi ko tinititigan ang bahay niya bata pa lang ako I've always been fascinated with old houses ewan ko ba there's this feeling na hindi ko maipaliwanag everytime I see one.

I like Sir Nick's Idea. To preserve the ancestral houses in the Philippines. I commend him for all his love and all his good ideas. He is right in saying that it's not all financial ang kailangan. Collaboration with the owners and the local govt. A must to save the old Manila and the whole Philippines. I think this is another project for every city and the Mayor and Congressman should be involved. ,"Project Buhayin ang Nakaraan." I think this is one project for the Millennials . I remember Mang Boyong the Furniture Maker from Bulacan. My family used to buy furniture from there. We still have it today.
In our family when we say, "Luma Na Yan", it means, "It is Very Valuable."

But the Ancestral House I am referring to is located in Mayon Street. Our other old house is in D. Tuazon near St. Theresa College - Quezon City.
If you happen to drive by that area. One of the old houses there belongs to my family. I apologize I cannot exactly pinpoint the exact area. I haven't been back there for 15 years.
