  • A fantastic morning fishing off the groynes at Brighton, north of Brisbane. The lure of choice was the Daiwa Double Clutch 95 in my favourite pattern, ghost perch. Similar pattern and colours of a prawn, the fish absoultely love it. Last night we had a big storm and this morning we have a incoming king tide. Hopefully these conditions will fire the fish up. Lets get into it and get flicking!

    Ghost Perch is the only colour I’ve caught a fish on every time I’ve used it at many different locations, and caught many species. I’ve ordered my black hole Amped II rod, and can’t wait to get out fishing. Love the vids Jason, can’t wait for more.

      Up the Ghost Perch double clutch! Nice pick on the rod! You won't be disappointed - Light, ergonomic and strong! Just watch the rod eyes and try not to smack them around. Let us know what you think when you get your hands on it 👍

    The double clutch are the best lure around period. In one session I got a 60cm Taylor,50cm queen fish,3 beast bream and 12 flat head,all before lunch time around Bribie passage.
    Just a little tip. You can tie a (tippet) very short say 50mm of 30lb leader on the end of your normal leader,big flatty have no problem breaking off 12lb leader. Use a double uni knot to tie it on.

    Mate, a really good video. Top area to fish around the river mouth there. Looks you have the original treble hooks on that 95mm. Can i be so bold as to suggest maybe try smaller size 8 or 10 trebles ? Legal size whiting and bream will smash the Diawa's if conditions are right but they have smaller mouths than flatties. Hate to miss dinner 😀. Keep them coming 😀

      I now always use owner trebles with them. Saying that the new double clutch lures come standard with owner treble hooks. Maybe Daiwa watched my original video and took note - as they basically copied me. Thanks for your comment. Hope you enjoyed! Cheers 👍

      @@ImJasonFish sounds good. Two weeks ago I got a Giant Shovel Nose Ray. 2kg. Felt like a whale on the line! Used prawn bait and lost it the first time. Reeled it in, and saw a baby flathead around 8cm dead on the hook! Looks like the baby flathead ate the prawn, then the ray ate the baby flathead. Hook was wedged in the baby flathead so thats why it couldn't set in the ray. Rehooked the baby flathead and about 40 min later the ray came back! Crazy scenario :)

    $21 for ONE lure on ebay. Holy crap, no thanks! Stick to my Z Man Grubz and Slim Swimz. Cheaper and better results.

    • @ImJasonFish
      @ImJasonFish  3 роки тому +2

      Hey mate, yes you can say they are quite dear for what they are. You can also say a packet of jigheads and softplastics at $20 is expensive for only plastic and lead. Personally, I choose hardbodies or soft plastics for different fishing spots and locations. You would use soft plastic for deep water, but you wouldnt use them when fishing rocky and snaggy bottoms. This is where hardbodies come in clutch - where your hardbody lure can hover and dart just over the snags. More verstile, better hook up rate and other pros and cons. But yeah, why not give hardbodies a try, you might like it. It is only $21. Thanks for watching 😊

    Wow the lure technique is quite different, I was using the lure as a slow wind and small twitches like you use for plastics, great video thanks for sharing. just a quick question regarding the technique are you twitching and winding at the same time or is it twitch pause wind etc?

    • @ImJasonFish
      @ImJasonFish  3 роки тому +1

      Hey mate, Thanks for watching and leaving a comment. The faster you wind and harder you twitch, the deeper the lure with dive. As well as angle of your rod tip. Yes, the technique is twitch twitch pass and wind in the slack at the same time. Hope this helps, tight lines! 👍

      that's fascinating I'm new to lure fishing Ive worked a bit with plastics and bait but other lures its over my head lol.
      I got a few Daiwa Double clutches for Christmas and Ive only just used started to use them, I got a couple of salmon trout on them which is something although they will literally eat anything lol, be more impressed if it was a bream although that being said they annoy me to fish for they are the biggest sooks of the ocean haha!
      that's cool though I always though that by twitching like that you'd be just heading to the surface, then the lure becomes a surface lure defeating the point.

      Yeah mate, lure fishing is fun and so much rewarding than bait fishing. Its just too easy on bait haha. Aww nice - lucky you! What size and colour pattern double clutches did you receive?
      Yeah mate, the size of the bib determines the diving depth. If its a rocky bottom at 3m, you would want something which can dive up to 2.5m and not get snagged at the bottom for example. Hope this makes sense and helps! Cheers 👍👍
