  • An experiment to see if a domestic 75 cm fan can prevent frost damage to fruit trees. This is not how a professional frost fan would work, but can we still save our fruit?

Would like to see physical fan set up. Have you tried this small fan frost protection in your vineyard. Thanks

There's no power at the vineyard. But I think it would take at least four fans. The vines are much more frost resilient, though, so I probably wouldn't bother.

What sort of area are you covering with that fan? Do you think it would work for trees along a fence of about 20m long? Thanks

It's an area 10 X 10 metres, so 8m would be fine. It doesn't take much air movement to stop the frost.
