Hey Sheri wow you really worked hard on the back yard. It's looking really good. Enjoy your channel 😊
Looks great so far
put your corn hole game in the dirt area!
If you could finf free pallets n enough,A deck would be amazing. If not,Rock, plants n flowers,a fountain n stepping stones.
My backyard is a shit show too. Really excited and looking forward to this adventure.
you did a fantastic job!
reseeding successfully requires good soil...pavers sounds good ....raised deck becomes a trip and fall hazard...you have quite the dilemma there sheri
I wish HGTV was helping you fix up your backyard. They make it look so easy with 20 people helping.
Not only is John an amazing editor, he's also a great guy, lending a helping hand for some yard work 🎉 Sweet 😊
😅 I couldn’t let her have all the fun!
@@EditorJohn_TIRL sounds like a blast 🤣 I'm sure it was greatly appreciated 😉 This woman is by far one of my favorite people on here ❤️
Ideas: Deck around stock tank pool > Make a square deck around the pool. The entire front half build decking about 8" above ground. One step up on both sides from the halfway point back. Then another step up and decking across the very back (with cushions). / I like mulch but minimize that because it is a favorite for... mosquitoes. I love the under-tree seating areas! Remember you'll want to blow leaves off whatever material you install. Orange/clay-colored pavers are perfect for you! You love orange. Keeping the total design simple will keep it restful. The hanging chandelier will be terrific! it looks great already!
Wow - great progress! I can’t wait to see the results!
way more ambitious than me! looks good now im saying!
In that corner I’m envisioning a cute little garden with a fountain and/or bird bath -I’m excited to see how this all comes out. Your ideas are always so good.
I’m so excited about this makeover❤! Can’t wait to see how it all turns out!
never break the chain!
I think cement area or deck in that dirt area wood be nice 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
no way id move those rocks!!!
You know Sheri, I was not shocked or appalled by the "before" condition of your yard. Good thing they had Operation clean up. I have been known to cut things up to get them in a trash bag so it could go in the trash can. I once tore a big heavy couch apart, and it all went by way of the weekly trash pickup. I had nobody to come and haul it away, so I dismantled that sucker and it took a good while working it in with my weekly trash. 😝The only thing I could imagine doing with that pile of brush is to have a weiner roast in the fall. But some places don't allow it inside city limits, and you'd have to look at it all summer.
💪
Don't go just getting any kinda grass seed hun do a lil bit of research for your very dry area to see what kind will thrive for you 😉 Maybe do small pea gravel in the space you want to do your Cornhole/yard game section and it'll make for less grass you have to stress over. Idk just a thought 🥂
We have like 60 pots clay metal ect flowers everywhere 7 20 feet italian cypress. Concrete patio new furniture teal wood table and chairs and weeds in a few areas we need to get to plus we own power washer. Best purchase ever. Ponds are great and easy love mine
I love it. I wish you were my neighbor!
OK, I am redoing my backyard right now. For the empty area, yes, just dump seed and the new grass will do the rest. Our new grass suffocated the weeds and it looks amazing now. You'll still have to pull some weeds, but not as much. It takes some patience, but it will be worth it. I would get grass that holds up to your climate. We bought a rototiller for our new pool area and that thing was a god send for taking out the grass area and leveling it for the pool. Saved us so much work and time. I ripped out 50 bags of invasive vines, no joke. It was awful and I still haven't killed them all yet, but it's getting there. I used a vine killer to help get them all as I make progress at pulling the roots.
My hubs and I are gardeners, so one part of our yard was a no brainer for that. Again, roto tilled the area, made it look nice, and started the garden. This one is just a suggestion, of course. We still have to lay out the borders, but the garden with the veggies and the companion flowers looks so gorgeous. We're going to put in a small greenhouse next. You can buy some cute raised beds on Amazon or other places that can be filled for plants of your choice. Raised beds are not cheap, but the aesthetic is worth it, or that can be a DIY with some pallette wood.
I live in WV and nothing is flat here. LOL My yard is sloped so it's a PITA to dig up and level things. Next year is building a brand new deck and installing a new fence.
I recommend taking one or two of the dead grass areas and turning them into a small native plant garden. I don't know what state you live in, but look at what plants are native to your state or county and see which ones you like and which ones get the height you like. For example, would you like to see all short plants? Or would you like to grow shrubs or vines? There are many amazing native plants and there are ones that are wonderful for the local wildlife. Of course, if you go this route, you'll not want to spray any insecticides because it would kill the wildlife you attract to the garden. Whatever you choose to do with the space, I'm excited to see. I love your channel and especially any of the diy renovation type videos. Thanks so much for sharing your projects with us. Also, your deck idea for going around your pool sounds fun and I love that idea for that spot. Love the lifeguard area, too. :)
❤ you've motivated me to start making changes around here! Thanks and good luck!!
Looks like its gonna be so much fun for us to watch, Sheri! P.s. i'm a fan of grass, so i would roto-till grass area and replant grass. 😊
How do you feel about raised beds? You can grow veggies and flowers! Put in some irrigation and a timer…
They don’t need to be high. The rusted garden (Gary) did a video about how to save $ on filling them.
So excited for this! I've just come up with some ideas for my backyard, and it has been so fun. Happy decorating!! Also you are so funny😂
🎉 I told my mom you were redoing your backyard and that she totally has to watch the transformation haha. Sooo… the idea to extend the deck out to the other patio is really cute! You could even line the front of it with plants or something to kind of transition it from the deck to the lawn. That would be a lot of wood though. Best bet for the lawn would be to reseed and not sure what your sprinkler system situation is but reseeding would be the most affordable option. My bf works in landscaping so we are happy to offer any tips. I also know how to pick up leaves 🍁 😂 It looks amazing btw 🤩
Awesome job! Love your plans. We have a tree (40 ft southern magnolia) that power lines are dissecting, too. I got quotes for tree removal last year but the guys said that as long as the branches weren’t leaning on the wires I should be okay. Maybe I’ll get it taken down this year. Raking leaves is rough!
Keep up the good work! Greetings from Belguim
Why do you not want to stay in that house? To me it looks nice and cute and you put so much work into it! I like your house.
overgrown or nature park!
To begin with your backyard wasn’t that bad! I think I would try to seed the dirt area if possible. Would be a pretty contrast with the pool deck and stepping stones. If that doesn’t work then a deck would work. You’re amazing. I could watch you all day. I’m a tad jealous as I remember the days when I could work all day. I loved it. But arthritis and back issues kind of messed that up! I still enjoy getting out in the yard and hauling bags of mulch etc. which I will be doing today😆 your yard will looks awesome. Can’t wait to see!!! 😘
get Sunday to grow your grass
let us know how temu worked! ive been nervous to order from them
Girl you don't have to do all that to get me over for some🍹lol. Seriously though I can't wait to see your vision come to life 🏖️
❤
Seems like it would be hard to keep the grass seeds watered in the heat especially if you’re at work during the day, unless you use a sprinkler and timer.
i am nervous you ate going to take out too much lush greenery😮
You worked hard! Those are ugly trees, all the branches come from the trunk, weird. Love the patios, yeah, cuten up the areas. Put grass in the dirt area, rottotill first, level, lay sod, add some good top soil first. I have a fire pit, love it. Do some perrenial gardens, planters or something somewhere. Edited John is a champion!!!😊
Naww, Sheri’s the champion, I’m just the muscle 😎
Seed for sure but you have to water water water over watered for the last days.
your x must be kicking himself
Dirt area-faux beach
i feel like you're delaying showing us the backyard....
it can't be that bad!
i would definitely hang out in the natural wild backyard!!
Your plan is great, because you obviously will get a better return on your money, when you sell...just redoing your bathroom, which was so great, will make your home more valuable. That's A lot of work you did just WOW.
I THINK YOU SHOULD HAVE ALL YOUR SUBSCRIBERS COME HELP, WE CAN DO IT IN A WEEKEND 🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗
