One who brought Muthuswami Dikshithar to ettayapuram was Ettayapuram Ramachandra Bhagavathar Dikshithars direct disciple He is one of our forefathers from which family we hail from. For Sishyas request about drought in Ettayapuram he betsowed blessings by composing Anathamruthakarshini. Father used to say that Muthuswami Dikshithar stayed at our forefathers house. He attained siddhi there. The kings elephant went and laid in burial ground. Worried king asked Dikshithar whether this indicated bad omen to king. Dikshithar answered nothing will happen to king and asked him to wait and watch. On Dikshithar attaining mukthi elephant walked back to palace.
Summer has started in chennai.Listening to this wonderful rendition in amrithavarshini itself is making me forget the heat and feel cool! What a lovely composition by Dikshithar!
In Delhi it has been raining cats and dogs for the past two days and since it has brought back coldness, people don't want to get rains. Listening to amritavavarshini brings rain. Here I couldn't resist listening to Dr. Jayanthi Kumaresh. Its ok I will take out my drycleaned sweater again but listening to her is a must. Ahaa.. I was drenched in her amritavavarshini. 🙏 🌹
Thank you akka for sharing this melodious rendition of Dikshitar's monumental piece in Amritavarshini raga. It is Spring in Chicago, and it is April, which is the rainiest month in Chicago.
I listened to an interview with Dr. Jayanthi Kumaresh on the podcast The Music Show. Much Respect Amazing Woman and musicians! I love your Music and Musicality💕
When I will be asked to mention the things that I enjoyed in creation while I stand in front of Sadhashiva after this lifetime of mine, one of the few things on top of the list will be listening to your melodious veena! I had loved Emani Sankara Sastrigal and Veena Balachandar right from childhood. Now you have the best of everybody within you and you have topped it off with your own impeccable style! How blessed are we to listen to you! Blessings!
Congratulation! Of the many thousand music videos on UA-cam your video has been selected by Ancient Vedic Radio to be part of our newly released Playlist #5. Namaste madam mesmerizing playing ..all swara prastaras are such a beautiful thing .in the last one superb madam ..mridanga and tabala very nice ..thank you all of you once again madam 🙏
Such heavenly Veena playing by Dr Jayanthi, accompanied so ably by the incomparable Patri Satish Kumar on mridangam, and I don’t know who on the tabla!
In a performance of Indian classical music, the drone is usually the first and last sound to be heard. It is created by the tanpura, a long necked, fretless lute whose open strings are plucked in a continuous loop throughout both performance and practice. It helps stay in pitch. You can look it up to learn more. Hope this helps🙏
