Thank you for your kind comment but I sincerely consider my skill set limited in respect to what FC can do. A spin on the user showcase forum will reveal some incredibly complex models. In my humble opinion, FC is a highly capable peace of software that just needs someone that coordinates the polishing of the interface and the re organisation of the tools scattered around the interface. Just my 2 cents. I'm a big FreeCAD fan :D
Thank you for making this thorough video. I just downloaded the realthunder branch, and having the interface set up this way makes working with FreeCAD so much nicer! Initially, I was confused about why the TreeView wasn't appearing for me... Then, I realized that I was looking under the wrong set of parameters... My mistake.
all good thank you for this amazing guide! A correction on the link you provide for @realthunder Linkstage3, link should point to github.com/realthunder/FreeCAD and not the Assembly Workbench release:)
Nice, very visually pleasing. How is your Tree View completely transparent? It looks like with the glass addon. Mine always has a transparent grey shadow behind it.
Short answer, yes. Long answer, quoting RealThunder, the topo naming fix is a huge undertaking and still work in progress but things are allot better in LinkStage3 compared to master.
It is usually enough to click on the panel label to expand it's view. Make sure you have the latest linkstage "daily" image downloaded because there was also a little bug fixed where panels would pop up by themselves on workbench change. Try to go in to View -> Panels and activate deactivate panels to kinda reset them then just click on the vertical text of the panel label. In the latest daily, Realthunder made changes that make my tut almost obsolete. In some configuration you can now freely drag panels around out from the combo and there is now a "auto task" option to be used when the panels are set to auto hide along with the addition of new tools to the PartDesign workbench. I should do an update to the interface customisation video to not get people confused. I hope that helped. Cheers.
Thanks or this informative video. One question thouth. Can you please make a tutorial, how to make this square based dome which is revolving at the beginning? Thx
Hello, For some strange reason i don't have a UI tab in Edit->preferences->Display running on WIN10 I use 0.19 downloaded from git release Tried to recompile latest master ... same issue
The secret is to center your model on the screen. First switch to Front View(1) then View Fit (V, F) -> enable Turntable then play with angle and speed
I'm new on freecad and I've windows 10. I don't really understand how install this. I noticed in "assets" there are many packages, wich one is good for me? I discover the "CONDA" is for freecad inside Blender, but mybe I'm wrong. I try the first, "...x86_64.dmg". Unpacked in a folder, copied and pasted inside "freecad 0.19" (C:\programs\freecad 0.19) with some overwritings. Try to start freecad: error! Recover freecad with a copied backup folder as your tutorial. Discover there is an easy addon manager (why there is Assembly 4?) . I install assembly3 from addon manager (very fast considering the dowloaded package was 500mb), reboot freecad, nothing happen and my preferences/general/mainwindow show only style sheet, size toolbar icond and tree view mode...
It would be helpful to know which operating system you are using. Take a look at this video for a pretty comprehensive explanation ua-cam.com/video/l4WzCjmuJg0/v-deo.html . Around minute 6.00 you can see how to download and install 0.19 from github. Realthunder's branch is not different as installation from 0.19 master. Go to this page github.com/realthunder/FreeCAD_assembly3/releases scroll down and click the little arrow next to the "Assets" button . Download your os relative version version then follow the instructions in the first video. I recommend using the version that has "daily" in it's name atm. It has more bugs squashed and some new functionality. I hope that helps. If you need further help just ask here. Cheers.
@@OficineRobotica Thanks a lot! now I´m testing the realthunder´s dev branch! mi problem was that I did´n know that the .exe file was located inside \bin folder. So far so good, it looks to me like the realthunder´s brunch are the turning point in FreeCAD´s development. Thanks for the help! and for the super useful (and nice made) videos
These videos and instructions are getting better and better. Thank you.
You have a serious skill set - terrific tutorial and great work by Realthunder

Is Linkstage 3 the version that solves topology problem?
Short answer, yes. Long answer, quoting RealThunder, the topo naming fix is a huge undertaking and still work in progress but things are allot better in LinkStage3 compared to master.
Amazing ! Thanks for this video
how can I download your FreeCAD user interface?
Hello your videos are perfect for me, but i have question about MS version 0.21.1 will be possible create similear view of our interface?
Thank you
Is there a way to configure the Linkstage branch so that the interface looks like this on Windows?
Is there an updated version of this video I haven't found yet?
For some reason my property view and selection view wont "tab" like yours is. They just split the panel when put together and won't merge.

You must use linkstage3 branch from realthunder. I putted a download link in the video description
@@OficineRobotica thank you :)
At the start of video, how can you make the model turn like that?
I've tried Tools>View turnable but it's turning in different way of yours.
The secret is to center your model on the screen. First switch to Front View(1) then View Fit (V, F) -> enable Turntable then play with angle and speed
