@@lennyrussell8954 Love's Great Adventure started life as a backing track for a commercial but was turned down. Good job it was or we may never have had LGA. Nonetheless I will keep digging when time (and remixing) permit.
Good blimmin' grief!! Enjoyed watching Midge at the Liverpool Philharmonic in 2019. He jokingly asked if he should do "Shaduppa You Face" as an encore, and near got lynched. And he's Midge Ure! People were shouting "Death to Joe Dolce!" until me throat was sore...
1981 I believe. That's the year "New Europeans" was released as a single in Japan on the back of the advert (the full length album cut of "Vienna" is on the b side".
Great find Astradyne, there must be more adverts with an Ultravox soundtrack out there.
There's a good chance that there is Lenny. There's the Rivets ad for Levi's for starters.
Indeed I got that on the reverse of the tape given out at the set movements tour, great track but there must be more.

Yes I remember it was meant to be the follow up to Rivets but Levi’s wanted to change it so Midge and Chris transformed it into LGA instead

Death to Joe Dolce and rightly so. It was a most heinous crime he committed back in early 1981.
They should have released this as a single would have been a big hit for sure
It was released as a single but only in Japan. But yes, it would have been a much better choice than "Passing Strangers" which didn't fair very well.
What year did this commercial air? I know the song's from 1980, but what about the ad?
