- What a roller coaster again, y'all. Taking you along for our Hurricane Helene Relief Trip No. 5. Introducing you to Jeff and Samantha, who lost their homestead but found community. I drove on the worst road I've ever been on and lived to tell about it. We found a Christmas tree just in the nick of time and ended our trip with one amazing meal. My neighbour is in NC with 8 of our Ontario Hydro trucks and crews from Canada helping your boys string new lines.. Yep, helping our cousins in need!!!

A few weeks back, I saw a fleet of power trucks from New Brunswick, Canada along I-77 in NC. While on a supply run, met some power people from Texas. During Operation Airdrop in Concord, NC meet pilots from across the USA who flew supplies in when roads were closed because of the catastrophic destruction from Helene. You will go home blessed from blessing WNC with your time and dedication away from your families. THANK YOU for coming from afar to help WNC.
Seeing this brings tears all these people still suffering and where's our government for help

Thank you for doing this--- prayers for all those people. Can't believe this is not still on the news.....those poor people. Can't help but think if they were in another country the govt. would be helping and there would be lots of fund raisers for them. Terrible the way we don't take care of our own.

My home town it's definitely changed are lives thanks to everyone that has helped.
Meredith, thank you for keeping the story alive...prayers for all that were affected by flooding.
In 2010 there was a flood in the mountains near Camp Albert Pike in Arkansas. 20 lives were lost, 8 were children. There was a storm north of the camping area and the flash flood caused the water rise 23 feet during the night which flooded the valley with campers and vacationers. It's just so tragic and hard to predict what nature will do. Much love!

I cried when you showed the Veteran's coffin, and flag just laying there in the mud. You can see the pain, and hurt in the eyes of the locals. I've prayed, and sent money.

I have often hauled our horses up I-40 to Quarter horse shows in Ashville. Years ago, we were hit by Hurricane Hugo. If I ever wanted to escape a hurricane, I would go to Ashville. I don't bet, but if I did, I would bet the mountains would never get hit like that. What happened is absolutely unbelievable. Obviously, I watched it on the news during and after. But thank you for adding a personal touch to the ongoing trauma the affected people face.
Hopefully, things will change for the better after January 2oth.

Wow as you were driving on the partly washed out road to the ladies house! It is extremely hard to picture the river being so calm!
But day of the flood it was a raging river with much devastation which is totally unbelievable to imagine the horror these folks endured!

Lawerence has an awesome wife, and an awesome family . I know he’s great full everyday. You have a good soul Meredith. My late Dad had a Christmas tree lot in Maryland in the mid 60s and early 70s. Dad used to make wreaths with the ugly trees .
