- I set myself a new SpeedRun challenge after a year of not running any game. What better game to choose than one of the best action games of all time Metal Gear Rising Revengeance. I've got to beat this game in 2 hours if i want to procure a Steam Refund. I've never attempted this before, here goes nothing....

Metal Gear Rising Revengeance. I remember playing it 10 years ago on my ps3 when i was in my last year of middle-school. So many memories from it.
I was in my 2nd year of middle school back in 2013 when i got ahold of it good times

Your timer starts at campaign start and not at software boot, which is when steam starts counting. Hasnt been an issue yet but that alone would have had you cruising over the 2hr mark here. Impressive play either way.
Yeah that's what I thought of too. He started the run like an official speedrun, and that messed up his timing.
Hey by the way, the glitched radar seems to be a full screen glitch. It functions normally if you play in windowed mode
Would be interested in seeing if you can beat Bayonetta in under 2 hours.

@@sahzus I know the game gives you a reward if you complete it under 3 hours, so I think it should be feasible if he skips the Alfheims and secret encounters.

I dont think souls games really can be done under 2 hours

@@antekpatyk9425 i tried souls 2, around 12 hours to defeat optional and second boss on the first area where you can see sea, so i think that it can be done under an hour only after playing it atleast 10 times
Should have saved for the fox blade, it can insta kill enemies sometimes, cuts right trough their armor

This guy has the unique combination of incredible speedrunning skills, and also the slowest-sounding voice possible.
Even if I was able to do that challenge I wouldn't refund it this game is just a masterpiece
I've experienced the same glitch with the minimap. I believe it might be because I use a monitor with higher resolution than the max resolution of the game, and I did start to experience the glitch only after my monitor was changed. So it's likely a question of things not syncing up correctly between screen and game

Did you consider using Sundowner's Scissor Blade "Bloodlust", or was it not viable with the amount of BP you had? I recall that being a boss melter, cuts through just about anything, and you can just pop on ripper mode before it hits.
Also I think from what I heard way back when, have tried it myself, if you feather blade mode at the end of your attack strings it resets you to normal faster, I believe.
Haven't actually seen any runs, but do remember that being a thing combo videos were using.
Oh, uh, Resident Evil. By which I mean I'm very happy to see your Sonic UnWiished speedrun.
Why unwiished? That version has a terrible werehog
@@thatitalianlameguy2235 I liked it. I saw more modification to the combos with the Devil Trigger-alike, too. Plus it could be interesting for a speedrun cos those are some beefy stages.
It wouldnt have made much of a difference because of how late he got it. Its a very risk reward weapon and he mightve decided not to take the risk because of how far behind he was.

I remember beating this game 4 times in a day when i was like 12. I don't know what was wrong with me. I played that game way too much and I still play it from time to time.

I would love to see you take on Asuras Wrath or even splatterhouse. I am not sure if either can be beaten in under 2 hours due to qtes in both games

22:22 just a tip. if you i think block or attack him when he is doing that you can get a different qte that allows you to do a lot more damage
10:37 This happened a lot to me, but all you need to do is to Alt+tab out then back in. Worked everytime for me.

My radar also got bugged when I was playing the game for my first time not too long ago (I bought it on steam while it was on sale). I just save, and restart the game. It usually works. But cuz this is a speedrun, even a minute is valuable...
very cool that you also do different game speedruns 👍 i can recommend the Yakuza franchise if you want to branch out even more, though its a beat em up and in no way speedrunnable under 2 hours
Fun fact: Fuel cells are for the following two things. 1st (ALL FILES) Blade mode 2nd (FILE 003-007) ripper mode of after you fight monsoon.

@@xDevilNeverCry Tbh, there's a bunch of those "can I beat RE x and get a refund" videos out there it seems, but The Evil Within is a superior game IMO and much more fun to watch. It's the scarier version of RE. Probably not a popular opinion, but I'll die on this hill :P

For some mistakes made in the speedrun you could've saved a minute full worth of these.
Zandatsu, you seem to slice once on the zandatsu screen. Maybe tap the zandatsu button and release as fast as possible for any boss to bypass the zandatsu
Some zandatsu is scripted and you can't wait for it to go away (Boss forces you to zandatsu at scripted qte)
Skipping scene: you seem to be attempting to skip rendered events in the game. To ensure your on an cutscene take one second to see the horrible video quality and that is an instant skip windows.
Qtes: you seem to not have a proper method built to speed through any qte ingame. Spam all keys if it's one of the spamming parts to find the key that works. If it's a one tap qte then follow it like a normal qte
Zandatsu pt.2: when your killing enemies with zandatsu try to instantly position for the body. Do not spam x or y and try to use manual as much as possible (for faster reaction times)
Senator fight: when at the last part use manual and turn a bit left and keep lifting the blade stick up and releasing on a continued loop in order to destroy armstrongs heart faster.
These can save alot of time even on hard mode
Mgr's only problem is that its so short
