And then years after she died, he was murdered in his home. Those thinking he had loads of money hidden in the shack. Truly a sad life story for both. Yet her simple pleasure in painting anything and everything with what surrounded her, filled her with ‘something’ amongst her very hard and abused life. I love visiting the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia where her actual home now resides.

I am heartbroken by all the suffering she, but speaking in broad terms, a lot of people have to endure. Not life normal suffering, but that one which is caused by the evil within other people that simply cannot live without causing others harm. Unfortunately this good lady did, and amazingly, she made the best of it by channeling that evil and turning it into lovely pieces of art. She is an inspiration.

So maybe cut him some slack since he was willing to work through it and her own trauma with her because he valued her, a lot of so called "nicer guys" wouldn't have.

Then there is the fact that of all the people in her life it was with him her spirit and talent managed to soar. I've known a lot of jerks in my time and none of them would have let someone paint their homes from top to bottom in the glorious manner she did their home let alone encouraged them to do so.
The bottom line is you don't know anything about either of them personally and being all judgie thinking you do because you watched a UA-cam recap of a movie and then condescending to me about "real life"is rather laughable.

I don't ever want to do that before marriage so I'm not going to break my morals and as one of Jehovah's witnesses I never will

I really liked this story, but I'd like it more if the narrator slowed down. The reading felt too rushed and without emotion.

Thank you for this truly BEAUTIFUL explanation of a story/movie. I wish I could watch this movie. I felt to cry so many times while listening, I haven't seen all this video yet. Women today, most, not all ... want to be the head and, in doing so, destroy the beauty of the way G_d made man, the relationship between a man and a woman, and a sound home built upon a solid foundation. Women are not a door mat, but a lovely help mate, or as in Maudes situation thus far, a lovely, hired helper. All women are or can be lovely. Though the situation clearly presents a troubled one to start having to share the same bed. Maude shows intelligence, determination, humility, and seeking something better to be valued and appreciated. Don't we all? But Maude does it in a humble, good, honest way, showing uncommon intelligence and discernment. I did not like that she smoked occasionally and went to a club, but I understand why she felt compelled to go. Everett is not mean, nor ignorant, but clearly dealing with things within him and frustration. He has a need, clearly this is revealed more and more as the story continues and he knows what he will have to answer to by judgment from others, yet he decides to be strong and go ahead to post his ad. We all need to listen (and not just with our ears) and be kind hearted, gentle and slow to speak that we may offer a healing balm to others just by being silent perhaps, not judging but yes discerning and to love our neighbor in choosing to be kind, gentle, valuing a soul that is worth more than rubies. I'm just sharing a bit of my gratefulness for this movie and its story. I wish tender blessings to all.
