a = b + √17
ab = 2
(b + √17).b = 2
b² + b√17 = 2
b² + b√17 - 2 = 0
Δ = 17 + 8 = 25
b = (- √17 ± 5)/2
b = (± 5 + √17)/2
First case: b = (5 - √17)/2 → recall: a = b + √17
a = [(5 - √17)/2] + √17
