matt jones travelled generations mate , my older brothers , mine, n would still get younger fans to this very day , we might never see a band like them again sadly , I'm hoping I'm wrong for music sake! 👍
Only in America. They were and still are one of the biggest and best loved bands basically everywhere else in the world. And fully recognised as the greatest band of the 90s/00s
Maxi Hadda they did at the time (in the 90s) but they are not rated at all today. They are up there with the Beatles, Led Zep, Queen, Pink Floyd etc but are not that highly recognised
Austin Blatner There's not much of a debate in the early years, in those days Liam was massively better at singing, but as Noel got better throughout the years Liam got worse. I guess you could debate the early 2000s pre-glastonbury nightmare, but before that Liam is the clear cut better singer. That's in regards to Rock 'n Roll, some prefer a softer voice and slower singing, if that's your thing then I can see Noel being your favorite earlier.
Kevin Muhlbach Everyone's entitled to their opinion BUT I have to respectfully disagree. In the very early days before Oasis became huge Liam had quite an angelic voice, actually u can even hear it on the first album (Married with Children). Noel's always had a TOP VOICE and still does........listen to any of the early tunes where he sings lead vocals or any of the TV appearances and concerts where Liam never bothered to turn up and Noel HAD to sing ALL the songs himself.
theselector Yeah I agree, his voice sounds so good on Married with Children, one of favourites. I think the lyrics are brilliant considering none of them had actually been married with children at the time it was written
Liam himself has said he's never really sang a song, and that he rather 'shouts in tune'. This made his voice what it was. 20+ years of shouting, smoking and aging and any one of us would beat up our vocal chords haha. But, its what made his voice so great, yeah he's lost his higher range now which is the problem really. But, everyone's voice deepens with age. Check out David Bowie's voice for an example, In his early years his voice was a lot cleaner and higher, I saw him at Manchester around 10 years ago and his voice was so much deeper and itchy. Or if you wont go for that, even though he aint a singer, Kiefer Sutherlands voicebox. In The Lost Boys and Phonebooth he has that iconic haunting voice that partially made his career, but then in 24 and beyond his voice is a lot deeper. Anyway, rant over, Oasis are fantastic, end of.
I think he found at the end of Oasis that his voice better suited singing through his nose, I think it's quite good. Listen to 'The Roller' by Beady Eye for example.
@@liamblackman63 No, that was a necessity to because his voice was blown out from putting too much chest into his notes throughout his entire career. He sang much better in 1993 and 1994 and he wasn't singing through his nose then
Can we give some credit to Andy Bell’s OUT OF THIS WORLD unorthodox bass playing, this what happens when you give a great guitar player a bass. Outstanding performance by all of em.
Fair enough Liam's voice don't sound like it used to but how can anyone say it's shit? Just look at the crowd man, bare in mind this ain't a tour gig it's the fuckin brit awards! You'll never see the brits like that ever again. They changed music completely forever. If you listen to his more recent stuff he does actually sound alot better than here although I still think he's the bollocks here, the way he steps in that stage with his walk knowing that the crowd are gonna be screaming, they'll reform I reckon no question about it. They are both perfectly capable, especially Noel. When, who knows? But it's gonna happen and no matter how much the tickets are for that first show I'm going.
A growling and withdrawing-the-last-word Liam in this clip is still infinitely better than any generic gel-fringed pop-singing prick on this planet. Why? Passion, anger and inconsistency - it's life, therefore music. Long live LG.
I remember watching this on TV and thinking how awful Liam sounded. Now looking back it isn't really that bad. For later Liam voice he's at singing the notes and not really stopping lines. Nowhere near as bad as 2005/2006 tour. Liam to me still can sing, just not like it used to be. Glad they played "The Meaning of Soul" on this show, always loved that song.
I always remember Sharon Osbourne face from this night when the camera went to her. I just said to myself go back to the American's love we wouldn't want you to get it
You can hear how Noel carries the song morning glory. When Liam can’t hit certain notes his guitar equals to that, making Liam’s voice mix with his guitar. Then. The chorus Noel sang simply coz Liam couldn’t sing the pitch it needed.
Years of belting it out at the top of your lungs, without doing vocal warms ups, coupled with excessive drinking, smoking and cocaine use will do that to your vocals..
Codgerism he lived his life, what rockstar wants to stop before being the best band in the world and say "shit I haven't warmed me throat"? His ability to Singh clearly didn't affect the crowd or the song otherwise they wouldn't have anyone cheering or screaming. He didn't rack up 3 lines and go "fuck what's this gonna do to my voice in 2007." Otherwise he'd end like Chris Martin
Sol Clay They're cheering because they get to watch someone who used to be one of the greatest rock vocalists of all time. Sadly, he didn't look after his voice and now sounds fucked.
As a teenager in the 90s I saw Oasis and lots of other bands it was the best fucking time. Do I remember what the bands wore or how they looked on stage? No but I remember how it it felt to be bouncing and singing with thousands of other people in a joyful sweaty throng. There was nothing like it. Gigs today are a pale shadow. Put the fucking phones away and just be there enjoying it. Make a video when you come out, hot sweaty and exhausted with your ears wringing feeling high as kite just from the sheer joy of live music.
I actually bought a burns bison bass, just because off the familiar too millions tour, that Andy bell played. Awesome bass. My mate who was a session player on the bass thought me. I was never that good, always played too tabs.
@UB4042 To be honest, while I think there have been gigs where Liam has sounded better than others, I don't think he's ever sounded shit; but I suppose that's just because he's my idol.
Never ever got the recognition they deserve, this band in the Ninetys and 2000's were untouchable. The soundtrack to a generation

@Malte Laurids Brigge Hmm, guess you don't know much about Oasis and rock music. But respect for your opinion
I don't care what anyone says, Noel is an incredibly talented guitarist

Gibson Marney the voice is back mate
Are you comparing Jack Bauer with Liam Gallagher? A law enforcer against a singer?
MrCowlick yeah that keither Sutherland reference was fuckin random 😂😂😂

Who cares about the singing, i cant stop looking at the hair, legendary.
Listen to Liam's new album As You Were it's brilliant.
You all be surprised how amazing he sounds

Liams voice is shit in this performance.
Zak Starkey is a fuckin beast!
Chad smith in 2:37 lol
Dude was rocking out
Or was it Will Ferrell? We will never know
Looks like Dom Howard sitting right next to him too lol
Nice to hear in 2017 his voice has been hitting the gym and is stronger than ever >2002

Exactly the same here
I was at this moment I thought to myself Liam was done . Shocking vocals , I’m glad he’s bounced back and proved me wrong
He's sounded far worse than he does here
It's nice noel is helping out Liam with singing as he knows Liam's voice is shot!
Noel looks cool with the that longer hair
2:37 Will Ferrell is enjoying this!
It's incredible how liam , on the non singing parts of the song, he shin
es without really doing anything. His presence is enough. The king of lives
Liam sounded good on this one
The brilliant arrogance and f all attitude of Liam when "what's the story morning glory " kicks in is priceless

That sigh from Gem at 1:30. Lol.

I love how they mute the sound whenever liam is pissing about
