Hi Laura. I am soon to be 72 years old and as a little boy for a couple years at about 8 or 10 years old, I made wreaths for our house and both of my grandparents houses. Didn't have garden centers, wreath hoops, paddle wire, hot glue guns or anything like Wilt Stop back then. We lived on a farm in Southern Ohio, so I used old barbed wire to make the hoops with. I tore old radios apart, and uncoiled the small copper wire from the transformers and wrapped it on a stick or small piece of scrap wood for my wrapping wire. Sometimes it wouldn't be long enough and I would have to splice on another piece. My one grandmother had some huge Hemlock trees that I simply loved with the small pine cones on them. My Uncle helped me cut some branches, and that is all I had available to use for the wreaths other than a few large pine cones. I attached the branches exactly as you do. When all finished, my Mom helped me make big red bows which I wired to them also. I was so excited and happy to give them to my grandparents, which they hung on their outside doors from Thanksgiving through Christmas. No camera in our family either, so no pictures available, only memories. Wishing you and your family a Happy Thanksgiving and the Merriest Christmas! Jim
I don’t know anyone who would say she wasn’t a professional! I’ve been watching her for years, I am Landscaper because of her! I run the landscaping department for a caesars entertainment property, she is my inspiration and who I’ve learned from. I spend 37k on plants and with her guiding through videos it made it easy for me my first year at the job. I am not a professional, SHE IS.
@@briannayoung2816 good for you! That sounds like an awesome, rewarding job. I have been a florist for more than 35 years and I understand that an awesome, rewarding job can also be stressful sometimes. 😉 But, When you enjoy what you do, it makes a job way more worth it for sure! Laura is a HUGE influence and inspiration for me too!🧡
I’d love to see how your neighbor reacted when you a) showed up at their door with a wreath & b) gifted them said gorgeous wreath hand-made by Laura “herself”! What a blessing you are as a neighbor, a wife & mother, and daughter & sister. You have millions of “friends” on FB & Instagram & UA-cam...what it must be like to be a close friend or girlfriend to such a giver & lover of people.
she talked about selling and moving, guess you can buy her property in a few years. I wonder who would take on such a property and probably doubled in value with such a garden.
My friends and I make wreaths from ground pine that we forage! It’s so fun! Outdoors is the place to be! Go get some friends pack snacks go foraging then go back one of your homes build a fire pull out the picnic table and make some wreaths! Thank you for the video. I will be stepping it up when I’m out collecting! 👍
Good morning my beautiful fabulous friend! The wreath turned out beautifully! Thanks for the refresher, I needed that. Hope you are enjoying your weekend and feeling well. 🥰
Wow ! I thanks God for let me find you, I just make my first wrist, before watching thise video , it's not bad but definitely I will make another one using your technique ❤❤❤ thank you so much
I watch but fail to say how much your excitement and skill inspires me. I love this wreath and that it was from the heart as a gift to a new neighbor. We are all family! Blessings.
You can do it. I have been using her method for several years. Just collect trimmings in your yard if you can, make into little bundles and go to town. I got my wire wreaths at the dollar tree.
Practice makes perfect, im sure the first time in may not...Remember in school how the teacher had this shining example of what we were to do...& then ours never measured up ;)
You don’t know until you try :-) I made my very first burlap wreath thinking it would turn out hideous. I was wrong! It turned out beautiful! And there’s also something about imperfections that make it perfect. It’s about the process. And fail videos are hilarious and good for a laugh too! :-)
It's beautiful, thank you and thank you for your clear pronunciation and explanations, even for a non-native English speaker, it's easy to understand you.
This was very helpful! Really appreciate the mix of overhead and front facing angles for the camera work. So much easier to see what’s happening! Hope you will start to show flower arranging in the same format. I would find that very helpful also! Thanks again for all you guys share!
I love your show! Every year my daughters and I ado wreaths @ a historic farm. I watch your video before we go, to refresh my memory! We’ve used wire frames, wire clothes hangers & grapevines wreaths as our frames. The farm provides all kinds of interesting greens, flowers, seed pods, etc. it’s fun and now a tradition for us!
Thank you for this, Laura! My six year-old little boy and I are headed out to forage in our mountains and he wanted a little idea of what we would be creating. This was terrific!
What a beautiful wreath, just on its own, and a brilliant demonstration. Also, what a lovely gesture giving it to your new neighbour. That’s what I love about the Americans, they always so generous.
Everything you do turns out so beautiful, whereas I seem to make a mess. I need a video of Laura bloopers! That is a beautiful wreath and I really want to try making one.
These are by far my favourite wreaths on UA-cam. I followed your instructions from a few years ago and I made my first Christmas wreath last year. The best part was taking my four year old also named Ben into the woods to cut the fir branches to make it. He and I both loved it. We will be doing it again this week thanks for the update. I just need to get some wreathing making plants in my back yard so I have my own supplies.
Just hung my wreath with wisteria vines, Rose of Sharon seed twigs, cedar boughs, pine cone branches and holly and Privet hedge berry branches. It’s huge and lit with little white lights and a big red bow. No wire or glue and it’s in the front window outside . Two friends and one neighbor already asked how much it cost and where I got it from! I’ll take that as a win! Thanks for the inspiration!
I just now sat down so I could watch the video. I have always wanted to make a wreath, but I looked at them and said to completely difficult. Only you make it look easier than I thought. Now I am going to try one.😊
Mmmmm coffee with Laura and a cat in the sun along with making a beautiful wreath. Your neighbors will be so thrilled to have that for their door and such a nice welcome gift. One of these days I will try a wreath and I am glad your videos are so through as I will probably have one on as I attempt to follow along! Thanks for the inspiration.
I went out last week and gathered, cedar, juniper with so many pretty blue berries and ponderosa pine boughs and made myself my first wreath and hung it on our chicken coop door, and also did a old window frame and made a little decorative hanging for the entrance. Thanks so much for the inspiration and instructions. I plan to do garland as well. I am all about natural greenery this year. Even the cow corral is getting some swags haha.
I spent all weekend decorating our house for Christmas. Got 5 trees up and on 2 of them I completely reworked what I always do because I love your trees so much. So now, instead of just out in my garden, I now am taking it up a level inside. Told my husband our new phrase (said with love) is "dammit, Laura!" 🤣 I hope you have a very happy holiday and get some rest! I'm thankful for discovering Garden Answer this year. ❤
🎄Another Saturday morning with my coffee and Laura. And the holiday videos are the best! Laura, I’m ‘of a certain age’ when new neighbors moved in we always welcomed them with a ‘gift’ of some sort, and having been welcomed once myself, I can tell you it means the world! Thank you for your kind heart and welcoming soul. And thank you for showing this gesture of giving the beautiful wreath to the neighbors! I know they are elated to know you and Aaron and Benjamin and soon, Baby Girl. Have a lovely weekend and God bless ❤️☕️🤶🏻

We should never underestimate the power of a thoughtful act. Thank you for sharing your story, Dee, and for underscoring the importance of welcoming others into any circle. Laura has a similar heart and inspires so many to be intentional about doing small things to make a difference. Have a wonderful day!
Making wreaths for my neighbours was top of weekend To Do list , elderly gentleman on one side and family with 2 toddlers on the other. A bit of neighbourly colouring the holidays and cheering things up.... Christmas cake is slowly baking in oven
After watching you make the lavender wreath I took the eucalyptus garland from my son’s wedding and made a wreath! Your detailed instructions made it so easy. Thank you 😊
This video reminded me to go back and watch the horse wreath video again that you made a couple years back. That was the coolest thing! Your projects are always so creative and beautiful!

Thank you for this! I just made my first wreath with white pine greens that blew down in a recent wind storm. The wreath is hanging on the front door, and I feel so happy!
I love it Laura. Now I know how to make it evenly by overlapping them in and out. I was always wonder how they make it looks proportion. Thank u so much for sharing how. Luv ya. ❤️😍
Laura, you make everything look so simple, but that just illustrates your talents and creative gift! It is a skill I do t naturally possess, but what I will say, is that you have given me the tools and courage to try and replicate many of your amazing projects. Thank you for the inspiration 🤗 BTW, the wreath is gorgeous!
One year, during the after Christmas clearance sales, I purchased more than a dozen wreath forms (the18" size) from Walmart for fifty cents each! Wow, talk about a bargain! My daughters and I are still making pretty wreaths using those wreath forms! If I use fresh greenery, I just take the wreath apart after the Holidays and reuse the wire form again the following year. Thanks for the tip about spraying the fresh greenery with Wilt Stop, I will have to get some of that! Laura, you are putting me in the Christmas decorating mood, I really needed the motivation this year. Thank you, and God Bless you for being such a sweet and caring soul! ~Margie
Oh the Christmas 🎄 music 🎶 feels more joyful this year than ever, I think! I’ve made a wreath before with some clipping from a friends fresh Xmas tree and it smelt so nice!
Thank you! I had been looking for information on how long it would take someone to make a wreathe for a story I am writing and this video demonstrates not only the time but technique perfectly. Liked and subbed!
Thank you for the refresher! Now I need to go cut pine boughs & gather supplies!! I always enjoy making my own wreaths since I watched the video from a couple of years ago!! Each year I make my wreaths, they look better & better!! Now I need to go back & watch the video on making a bows! 😁🎄🎅🤶🧑🎄🌿
Beautiful wreath and wonderful directions!! I’m looking forward to trying one this year! Your neighbors are lucky to be next door! Love y’all’s channel and so appreciate your positivity!
Thanks for inspiring me to plant a lot of trees/shrubs for winter interest, in years to come I can cut from my own garden for decorating, if I’m brave enough to cut from them. ❤️
@GardenAnswer Hi Laura! What is the name of the spray you use for your wreath to keep it fresh? I just missed the name when you mentioned on your video. Thanks!
That turned out perfect. The ivy really adds a lot. We don't have it here , so I guess we could order it. Your neighbors are lucky people. Thank you for the demonstration! Joyce
That wreath is beautiful! I work at a garden center as the florist and I just bought all of my supplies to put together my outdoor spruce top arrangements and fill my window boxes this weekend. I am going to add a wreath to my "to do" list! I have Terra Cotta tinted seeded eucalyptus that I will be adding instead of the holly (it's too cold in Minnesota for holly to last well outdoors)🧡 I always feel incredibly inspired after watching your videos! Have a great weekend!
Thank you so much for sharing this beautiful wreath you’re putting together and sharing that you could easily grow these plants in your yard to make race every year or check with your local nursery thank you for all the tips my awesome friend you’re always there giving such encouragement and sharing such great tips

That turned out perfect. The ivy really adds a lot. We don't have it here , so I guess we could order it. Your neighbors are lucky people. Thank you for the demonstration! Joyce
Gorgeous. You are a great teacher.
❤️🎄 Simply beautiful. The combination of greenery and holly is so pretty together. Love it.
Really enjoyed this video! Such a pretty wreath!! What a sweet and thoughtful person you are to being your new neighbor a holiday wreath! 💛
Every year your wreath projects are absolute perfection
That wreath is beautiful! I work at a garden center as the florist and I just bought all of my supplies to put together my outdoor spruce top arrangements and fill my window boxes this weekend. I am going to add a wreath to my "to do" list! I have Terra Cotta tinted seeded eucalyptus that I will be adding instead of the holly (it's too cold in Minnesota for holly to last well outdoors)🧡 I always feel incredibly inspired after watching your videos! Have a great weekend!
Looks like I’m heading back to the garden center. 🙈 you inspire me so much to try new things!
Loved the wreathe you made. It’s seems simple. Thanks. Andrea
Thank you so much for sharing this beautiful wreath you’re putting together and sharing that you could easily grow these plants in your yard to make race every year or check with your local nursery thank you for all the tips my awesome friend you’re always there giving such encouragement and sharing such great tips
