He was 29 when this was released in 1976. I would gladly go back to the 70's IF I would not have to relive all six kidney stones I have had since then.

This was a huge hit in the 70's and of course, Elton did it again and continues to churn out the best music!

Kiki Dee was the first female artist to be signed by the British division of Motown (Tamla). She is a highly underrated singer. In the sixties, she did fun pop songs in a kind of Motown style. Then she also did mainstream pop, and even hard rock. She could sing anything including the phone book and make it sound great. Check out her big hit from 1974 "I Got the Music in Me".

Wow! This song takes me back to 1976 when I was in my early 20's and my "older woman" girlfriend and I were together. We claimed this as our song! Special time in my life, I miss that woman fiercely, she really brought me into manhood. But a few years later when I left the area she committed suicide and it was shocking to find out that my first true love was gone. Her memory lives on though, and this song makes me think of her always. Thanks for the reaction bro!

This song was on the radio all day and all night. I actually like it more now that I haven't heard it in years.

In the Bicentennial summer of '76 this was all over the radio. A sweet, innocent, fun song from a much better time ❤

Happy 70s pop.... even if it was a sad song. The music was happy....

You should check out Kiki Dee's "I've Got The Music In Me", it's great entertainment and she really gets down, worth checking out. They're having a good time with this song.

When this came out they must have been testing to see if it was possible to have too many Elton John hits on the radio. (Turned out: nope!) I would return to the 70s immediately.

Kiki's wearing dungarees, all the rage in the 70s. My girlfriend wore them all the time. I'm not sure there's a name for the part that Elton kissed, but it was a bit cheeky. Many of us would have loved to kiss Kiki.
This was the first British Number One for both of them. Elton later recorded a sort of 'high-energy- version with RuPaul, which was kind of fun. And of course a famous duet with Miss Piggy on the Muppet Show.
I'd suggest trying some of Kiki's solo work, like Amoureuse and I've Got the Music In Me.
I know you've done some Billy Joel, often called America's Elton John. But while there's a good argument for that, I think the real American Elton John is Neil Sedaka. He seems to be forgotten now but he was (and is, he's still alive) a fantastic singer-songwriter. Maybe he doesn't have the range that Elton has but I love his music.
I mention him because another commenter further down asked you to listen to his song Bad Blood, which has Elton on backing vocals. It was his most successful release, only being replaced at Number One on Billboard . . . by Elton's Island Girl.
I listed my top 5 below, but you won't go wrong with any Sedaka song.

Please do Neil Sadaka's Bad Blood. One of my favorite songs from back in the day.

    • @markharris1125

With Elton on backing vocals of course! I have actually given up asking reactors to do some Sedaka, because they never do. Maybe Neil ferociously blocks them all so they never see the light of day but I really can't imagine that. People say that Billy Joel is America's Elton John and I always say no, it's Neil Sedaka! Started with the throwaway pop (Elton and Bernie writing for others), turning into a much more serious songwriter.
Bad Blood is a great song. I would say my top 5 are The Immigrant (always relevant), The Other Side Of Me, The Hungry Years, New York City Blues, Standing On the Inside and Superbird.
(Okay, that was six, it's like choosing your favourite kitten.)
I'm going to add my own comment, in the hope our cheerful host reads these comments and takes a chance.
      Great suggestion.

she was wearing dungerees that had a free hanging pocket in the top.she was quite comfortable with him and he knew she'd be fine with him doing that.if he was straight it prob would be different and he prob wouldn't do the kiss.
check out kiki's i got the music in me.
elton did this song again in 94 with rupaul.
i would go back to the late 70's if i was say 12yrs older than i was then as i hit my teens in'the mid 80's and always wished i could have been a new romantic and gone to clubs then.

He has re-done this a few times. Most famously with Miss Piggy on The Muppet Show, and later with Ru Paul.

I would definitely go back to the '70s to see all his concerts. But how will Elton react when he sees a 51-year-old woman in the audience jumping and screaming like crazy and knowing all of his songs? 🤧🥴

Every song on the Rock of the Westies album is groovy. All the songs are perfect. Unfortunately, they're not hits, so they're not famous and you can't get views by reacting to them 😆
