  • Just a quick video of the fully assembled coilovers from Guru Performance.
    I chose to get a 12 inch spring with 250lb. The 250 lb is more than factory. I disnt want anything too stiff as my weight in the rear will be close to stock.

    Great to see other Fiero Enthusiasts working in their cars, ii am currently looking to upgrade the suspension on one of my 87 Fiero GTs also, was looking at Eibach coilovers at all 4 corners

      I'm doing the same with my 87 GT V8 and have been gathering parts necessary to do the swap for over 10+ years! Lol. I have a set of 350 lbs. springs and only need the coil overs sleeves to make it work.

    Just picked up these exact Stage 4 coilovers, arrived today and looking forward to installing them. How's the handling and such? I'm also curious about where you have the ride height set? I noticed you had your adjustment set right above 45 in the video, is this right about factory height or is your a bit lower? I'm hoping to get my '88 rear about factory height.

      I dont remember what height I had them set at but I lowered it from the 45 number. 45 was way too high. I might be at at 25 now? Not sure havent looked

    Is it fair to say that because of the spring diameter change from 6" to 3" that the tire clearance gain is 1.5"? Do you have a measurement from the wheel mounting face to the coilover at tire sidewall height?

      Mine is an 88 so it's diff from earlier years. If you want to run a 295 tire you need around a 9 or 10 inch rim. If you keep the same 35mm offset, I guarantee one of two things.
      Your wheel will stick way out of the wheel well, or it's gonna hit the spring.
      There is no reason to run such a wide tire on a fiero anyways.
      I have 225 DR on the rear on a 16x7 rim with a 35 offset, and I have zero traction problems.
      There is no reason to insist on a 295 tire for a fiero

      @@Slowv8Fiero I've had those 50 series BFGs on a few of my cars and just like the look and was curious as to if anyone has tried it. I realize that it's impractical. I'll just say 1.5" gain then.

    Looks like you've got an inter-cooler where a passenger side scoop is going. I was thinking about an oil cooler there. What is your plan to deal with the air flow there? it seems like you have to have it go somewhere, otherwise it wouldn't be very effective, right?

    • @Slowv8Fiero
      @Slowv8Fiero  2 роки тому

      That's a setrab oil cooler. There is no scoop but a little air from underneath the car helps in cooling

    Can you run 295/50R15 tires without changing the offset after installing these?

      Don't know for sure, but I doubt it.

    Do you had any trouble with fitting the bolts in the bottom? I got a pair and tried to put them in last night with a friend and the holes didn't line up on the top on one side. Trying the other said when I get home from work.

    • @Slowv8Fiero
      @Slowv8Fiero  3 роки тому +1

      They didnt slide in. Make sure the holes are lined up. I used a hammer to help knock the bolts in

      @@austinbarlow6098 hey, this comment is old, but I was wondering if you ever found a good way to convert the front ones to coil overs? thanks

      @@aidanvincent9264 no. Coilovers on front will take some work. So I just did lowering springs instead from west coast fiero.
      They were the 300 lb springs for the front
