    We absolutely love Evan moor spelling, it just plain works for our family…only took me 6 years to figure it out 😅😂

    I appreciate the time of this video. I just ordered EM spelling for my 5th grader yesterday!

    Thanks for sharing this spelling program. We have found that it's simple enough for us to stick with it, and it works! The kids enjoy the variety of short activities, too.

    This was so great. I am looking for curriculum for my kindergartener and 3rd grader.

      @@LifeintheMundane I originally found this video because I was looking for reviews on this program. I was wondering (if you don’t mind sharing) have any of your dyslexic children used this curriculum? My daughter is going into the 3rd grade. She comprehends well, but her reading is behind. She tested for dyslexia and she scored low on processing and eye tracking. I am not 100% sure on the eye tracking though because, she was fatigued by the time she got to that section of the test, she clicked the mouse a lot really fast. I watched your review on Dianne Craft, right brain learning. I was hoping to go to the as a last resort. I did find similar flash cards on Amazon called snap words. I am hoping that helps. My daughter does well in math. When she finished 2nd grade, she was working on 3rd grade math.

    I’m sure you have a more recent video about spelling but wondering if y’all are still using Evan moor. We had to take a break for our struggling speller but tempted to go back. Thanks for all your awesome videos.

      We are not currently using it was a great fit for my older daughter but not for my daughter with special needs. She needed more review so I switched her to All about spelling and my oldest went to IEW’s Phonetic Zoo spelling program

      @@LifeintheMundane awesome! I keep hearing great things about phonetic zoo but I’m getting tired of trying more and more programs knowing there’s no perfect program. I’m sure you have phonetic zoo videos. Hopefully I can find them.

      @@TheChan7 I actually am not sure 🤔 I do but I should make one. It’s a great program but it’s for older kids not beginning spellers

      @@LifeintheMundane good to know. Thank you!! I’m afraid we won’t be consistent with the audio portion. We have somewhat of a large family too. So that is one of the large family problems in my opinion.

    Thanks for this! I know you've used AAR for reading which we do too. Did you consider All About Spelling and if so why did you choose Evan Moore over it?

    • @LifeintheMundane
      @LifeintheMundane  2 роки тому +5

      We love AAS it’s a super solid program and I highly recommend it. The only reason I didn’t choose it is because this year I needed something less teacher intensive and my daughter who is using it is such a self starter I figured she would do well with it.

      @@LifeintheMundane that makes sense. Thanks for sharing. I'll definitely take note. We are just starting AAS1 so once we gain ground with that I will have some heads pace to think about other things.

    Im having trouble figuring out the directions for day 1 Monday. I thought it was saying it go all the way across for each word bf moving on to the next. So the child hears it, hears it spelled, spells out loud themselves, copies and spells and then covers, writes, and checks ??? I’m still not sure. 🤔 thoughts ? Would that work better ?

    • @LifeintheMundane
      @LifeintheMundane  2 роки тому

      Im not a 100% sure but I think what your saying is how we do it (but I also have not gotten enough sleep lol) so I may be confused but regardless of whether this is how we do it I say if it works for your kiddo then do it. If not maybe switch it up. Im sorry that's probably not the most helpful but I think what your saying makes sense.

    Hi! We just got this book. 3rd grade level. On the how to study your list page with the fox graphics, it looks as if you do one word at a time the whole way through? It sounded like you said you had your child write all words and then uncover and check at end rather than word by word. Does my question even make sense? 😂 thanks for your help!

    • @LifeintheMundane

      Hmmm 🤔 it looks like you’re right and they don’t offer it as an ebook anymore. I wonder if that is because they have there digital membership and they are encouraging people to get that instead.
