I'm Egyptian, A COPTIC CHRISTIAN EGYPTIAN, I shout that out loud because we are the most pure blooded Egyptians out there and that's not only my opinion that's what Egyptologists, Historians and Scientists also agreed on , and I tell you that every word that Bassem Youssef said is right and I totally agree with him. Yes Egypt had lots of mixed cultures throughout its history like for example: Greeks, Romans and Arabs, but the Egyptian blood didn't mix and change that much and that's because for centuries we Egyptians had a golden tradition rule to marry our cousins, and that tradition is still present until now especially in Upper Egypt(from Assiut to Aswan), Although that tradition seems silly and bad from a scientific biological point of view, but that doesn't matter, silly or not we kept that tradition of marrying our cousins for centuries and that helped us to preserve our pure Egyptian blood not mixed as long as we could, and the result is what you see now and that is Modern Egyptians looks typical to their Ancient Egyptian Ancestors, just look at my skin color and Bassem Youssef's skin color we are almost the same although he is a Muslim who was born and lived in Cairo and I am a Coptic Christian who was born and lived in Luxor and there is almost a 1000 km distance between us, doesn't that tell you a thing or two about who Ancient Egyptians were and what they looked like? That's the "original" Red Carpet!!! I always wondered (in reality - not the film) how in the heck did they get all that S**t from Egypt! Cargo camels??? I mean, allllllll those people! Allllllll those horses, birds, props!! How'd they get them from Egypt to Rome??? I saw this film in real time sitting in the theatre! Back then movie theaters in DC were very plush: thick carpet - velvet seats - chandeliers & this was shown in one of DCs most elegant movie houses. The nuns (Catholic school) took us. Still today holds fascination. Whoever choreographed this should've gotten an Oscar!

I wouldn't say that the Greeks conquered Egypt, actually they liberated Egypt from the Persians and married it with their own since there were no more Egyptian royals left.
They don’t make movies like this anymore… the care that would go into these films, the dedication, the well crafted costumes and sets… Hollywood films used to take their times building stories & putting piece by piece together. These days the studios have simply gotten lazy and rely on CGI and cheap props. I remember how much training actors had to go thru back in the day to build their crafts. Judy garland had intensive training. Gene Kelly as well. The only downside to this era was how poorly the actors were treated by the studios. However, they went from one extreme to the next

It was realized with absolte perfection and beauty. And as in the true story Antonio fall in love for she .. (and me too). Absolutely great, umblivable scene. But in all honestly i don't think that the real Cleopatra would to be beauty like Elisabeth Taylor ...
Alexander the Great when he passed away his five generals, decided who will inherit the places Alexander conquered, so Plolomeus XII started the era of pharaohs in Egypt, that golden era finished when Cleopatra his last descendant committed suicide, her son Cesarion was taken to Rome and we never knew about him again. Alexander didn’t cede his empire to his generals, they divided it after his death. Ptolemy XII was Kleopatra’s father and not the founder of the Ptolemaic dynasty, that was Ptolemy I. And Caesarion wasn’t taken to Rome. Octavian executed him after his mother’s death.

I always wondered (in reality - not the film) how in the heck did they get all that S**t from Egypt! Cargo camels??? I mean, allllllll those people! Allllllll those horses, birds, props!! How'd they get them from Egypt to Rome???
I saw this film in real time sitting in the theatre! Back then movie theaters in DC were very plush: thick carpet - velvet seats - chandeliers & this was shown in one of DCs most elegant movie houses. The nuns (Catholic school) took us. Still today holds fascination. Whoever choreographed this should've gotten an Oscar!

They don’t make movies like this anymore… the care that would go into these films, the dedication, the well crafted costumes and sets… Hollywood films used to take their times building stories & putting piece by piece together. These days the studios have simply gotten lazy and rely on CGI and cheap props. I remember how much training actors had to go thru back in the day to build their crafts. Judy garland had intensive training. Gene Kelly as well. The only downside to this era was how poorly the actors were treated by the studios. However, they went from one extreme to the next
