Another great recap! The Oilers best complete game this season. Skinner was robbed of the shutout and only the third time in history, I believe, that the Oilers earned a “Team shutout” 👌
Excellent commentary, Patrick. This was probably the best game that the Oilers have played this season and in Boston of all places. It was all about raw skill, dogged determination and great contributions from EVERY player in their line up. So, in short, it could be compared to the type of play that could be expected in the final series for the Stanley Cup. Fantastic!
A very good morning to you Patrick and all Oilers from Germany! WIN!!! Unfortunately my Reha makes me really tired each day, but up to 6 hrs of hard work for my comeback pays tribute, so I couldn't support my team tonight, sorry. Nice to hear all the information from this game, also that Connor scored again, Henrique twice with a good 3rd line, sorry for Drai that his streak ended and total impression on Goalie Skinner for a shootout after a terrible check. Looking up for next game against the penguins! Cheers from snowy cold Germany 🥶, hope to see you next game again. Play la Bamba, baby!!!🎉
7am game. Great game. Only issue is Skinner getting run again and no one making them pay. Need Kane back soon. Other teams well aware the team is soft. Soft teams don’t win cups. Rico had a good game as well as that line. 2 more points and Pens up next. Thanks for the rundown.
You must have French or Italian blood with those expressive hands lol Seriously though I loved that Skinner Henrique combo. Three scoring lines would be a great luxury to have on the ice.
Need to add toughness. I would like to add a player like Liam O'Brien. Ryan Lomberg, now with Calgary, is another player who would stand up for his teammates and keep the other team honest. After hours did an interview with him recently. Good guy. I like him. Long time yet until Kane comes back in March, assuming that is his timeline for a return. Prefer not to have him fighting people. What if he gets hurt again? Want him scoring goals.
Game 40. Long post follows with base game statistics including some for the Boston Bruins. Read, don't read, up to you. These are BASE stats not detailed ones. My comments and observations at the end. When is a Shutout NOT a Shutout? When Nikita Zadorov using a dangerous line runs over your goalie Stuart Skinner who's back of his head hit the net/crossbar. The back of the head isn't protected almost at all so automatic Concussion Protocol and in went Pickard who didn't take a shot during the 5 minutes he was on. Stu came back and played the remainder of the night lights out but still a 1.000 Save %age that is NOT a Shutout. From the stats: Oilers really outshot Boston (39 to 26), hit a lot less (though more than normal) (18 to 45), won more faceoffs (27 to 20), scored on 1 of 3 PP chances while keeping Boston from scoring on their 2 PP opportunities (so PK 100%). Oilers took fewer penalties, had one more Giveaway, 2 more Takeaways, and 1 less Blocked Shot. This was a chippy affair. Perry and Frederic got into a fight in the 2nd where Frederic took a roughing penalty as well (served by Oliver Wahlstrom) and that was the PP the Oilers scored on. Rico potted two. Connor finally scored (the PP goal assisted by Nuge) and Arvidsson got the Empty Netter (assist to Kulak who also assisted on the first Rico goal). Swayman lost another one (his 4th straight) for Boston who have lost 5 in a row. Oilers are the opposite of that having won 4 in a row now. Oilers face Sid in Pittsburgh next and Bruins go to Tampa Bay to face the Lightning. Take care all.
Bruins started running around in that game and Edmonton didn’t have an answer for the physicality. Not a concern in a reg season win but a 7 game series against a physical team may be not good.
Slick jersey patty , again Bouchard another disgusting disappointment, instead of standing up for your goalie you pat zadorov on the shoulder you bum and on the pp you do not even skate back on that breakaway get rid of him !!
I agree on adding toughness to the team, definitely will need it for playoffs, especially when playing agaist teams like Vegas and LA.
Rock solid play tonight. Keept it up. LGO!
What a game. Oil looking mighty
Another great recap! The Oilers best complete game this season. Skinner was robbed of the shutout and only the third time in history, I believe, that the Oilers earned a “Team shutout” 👌
Great game guys keep it up and skinner was great to keep it up win another one
Skinners making a case to be elevated to the top line possibly.
Excellent commentary, Patrick. This was probably the best game that the Oilers have played this season and in Boston of all places. Thank you, it was a great game to watch
Go Senators Go. Go Oilers Go.
Thanks for your update Patrick 👍 just having a beer after work watching your update. 😊
Perfect way to do it 🍻

Awesome game❤

Great overall game. Only downfall...is the turnover factory, bouchard.
Despite Bouchard's “great” 😂😂efforts Oilers won! good game by STU 😜 Let's go Oilers !
You must have French or Italian blood with those expressive hands lol

Thoughts on Josh Brown’s game?
Didn’t notice him too much and that’s what you want. Came in, did his job, added some toughness
GREAT RESULT 🤓 BUT
2 BAD turnovers by bouch 😮😮
No repercussions for Zadorov after running over Stu.
Have to change that
I thought Podkolzin played a very good game and was quite physical. No fear in the paint.
Yeah I’ve loved Podz, been a great addition

Thank you, yeah wanted to see some more pushback for sure
Evander Kane
The NHL should give Skinner the shutout. I don't think Pickard even faced a shot during his brief time playing.
I agree, but I’m sure he’s happy to share it
Dude, sit on your hands!!. It’s distracting as hell!
