My apologies. My earlier comment was a bit abrupt. I did not start with the positives. This home is STUNNING. I keep looking at those rafters and thinking about adding a long dragon kite going in/out of them. In fact I can't think of anything I would want to change, . Just add a pool. I could even make it a Lazy river style, with a larger pool at one end, Maybe a lava rock cave. Have some gas flames on to of it and a slide?
Love everything about this property, it has lots of potential like adding a library and a music studio. I love that it has a three car garage for the classic car collection. Truly is a beautiful home!
$4.450M without a pool is a nonstarter. Kitchen needs to be completely reconfigured. Beautiful property, I could absolutely see a full fruit orchard on the top levels.
Stunning property and home with fantastic views. I may be wrong, but I suspect that those lovely rafters add structural integrity to the roof as well. Love the multi-level land and interior as well. The two level lanai is a party place as well as a relaxing space. This was an excellent video, Mike. Well done!
They spent a LOT of money on the main house, especially the baths. I can certainly see the need for the "security nook" with all the cameras ... there are so many possible access points to cover. And of course - Holualoa, one of the best parts of the whole Big Island.
Is there a water catchment system like the Hale next door? I'm pleased you took the time to explore the upper reaches of the property which you neglected on the adjacent property (The "invisible"solar roof Hale.). I would add a ground mount solar system with lithium iron phosphate batteries to avoid "HECO Headaches" and add the Farm across the street for sustainable food & coffee farming!
I would add Solar PV. I would also want a pool, but would have it designed to reflect the nature, etc. But at least a Hot tub Maybe in a separate building so it looked like a Japanese's style bath . Out door kitchen?
The grounds and vista are just lovely. The interior flooring …a hodgepodge of materials and patterns is off-putting I’m sorry to say. Also not a big fan of that planting in the foyer, more appropriate for a commercial space I would think. However the large lanais makeup for some of the shortfall. The cabana or guest suite interior is nice, too bad the architect didn’t design the big house too.
Always enjoy my Sunday tours. 🙂
I am very happy this Hale is receiving the "Drutar" Treatment!!! Mahalo.
Awesome
Drop dead gorgeous ❤
I Loved the next door neighbor that recently sold; this property is even nicer; I wish I copuld couple this with the coffee farm across the street!
Unique and beautiful! Thanks Mike!

You're right. Too many damned steps.
Well built. But dated.
