2022 Satsuki Festival in Ueno Green Club (Japan Satsuki Association)

Satsuki festival organized by Japan Satsuki Association was held at Ueno Green Club, Tokyo for 4 days from May 19 to 22, 2022.
This is an exhibition of Japan Satsuki Association, one of the three national organizations of satsuki in Japan. Top class satsuki bonsai were gathered from all over the country.
This year, it was expected that the spring was warm, so the flowers might be early. However, when the blooming season came, the flowers were a little bit late and there were not many Kozan type flowers.
Still, the flower section showed off the full blooms that covered the tree form.
One disappointment was the venue. It is a well-known venue for those in the know, and even with so many flowers in bloom, the number of visitors was low. I wish the festival would be held at Ueno Onshi Park like before and many people could see the festival.

昭和期のさつきがベスト。今は生産者も晃山系の生産なんてしないでしょう。しかしこういった展示会で展示されるさつきはそういったものがほとんど。また価格がバラバラ、同じ程度のさつきで５倍くらいの差はあるでしょう。オークションでは売れまくっているのに不思議な現象。
