So last year we bought our first home and although we never thought we'd have a pool, we got a pool. It's been a long journey learning how to open, clean and maintain a pool. One product instrumental in becoming good pool owners has been a Pool Robot Cleaner. So one year later, was it worth the investment? THANKS FOR WATCHING!

This is the best review of this model that I’ve found online. Thank you.

Oh wow thank you so much! I've been wanting to do a follow up video because I still get questions about what I think of this robot cleaner. Thanks for watching.

Good quality video- great to hear the update and answer the questions a lot of us have.
Also- I did enjoy the edit: not too crazy, cool music volume, no stupid effects (there is a place and time for them too, but this video nailed it)… Appreciate the info for potential buyers and those still on the fence.

I've got a tip for you regarding your dirty waterline. I know you said you didn't want to use a harsh chemical, and I had felt the same way and thought my liner was just stained and couldn't be cleaned. Apparently that dirty waterline is actually very damaging to your liner. It is caked on oils and scum that don't allow your vinyl to breathe and it could cause the liner to get brittle earlier in its life than necessary. I researched and bought a product called Wipe Out for pools and spas and it was a game changer. There are other products with that name so make sure you get the one for pools and the solution should like kind of purple/blue. I waited til my water was a little low to use it and you just spray it on a sponge, apply it, give it just a few seconds, then wipe. My liner looks new!!!! It's 10 years old. I only plan to use it every spring opening now to prevent it getting like that again. Thanks for the robot reviews!

Thank you so much for the tip, I will definitely look into it. My wife was using a mr clean sponge to try to clean it...lol

@@MauriceMercado oh no. Don’t use that! They are abrasive. Try the Wipe Out. It’s like magic. It comes out like a foam. Spray onto your sponge. I didn’t have any sponges available and actually used doubled up paper towels!! But it worked. Only used a small amount of my bottle to go around while pool. So I have enough for probably two more spring cleanings at least.

I've had nothing but problems with my Polaris VRX IQ+. That cable is close to $300 a pop and squirrels love it. I've had to replace that cable 3 times already. On top of that, we have never had a solid month without having error 10 or error 11. In less than 2 years we have had to take it in to Leslie's Pool Supply for repair at least 12 times many of which was due to water getting inside one of the electrical connections that is supposed to be water proof inside the robot cleaner.
Just this morning I woke up to an error 11 from it. I unplugged it, checked it, plugged it back in.... now it says error 10. I go through all the troubleshooting steps. It still wasn't work. I call Leslie Pool Supply and no answer.
I've reached out to polaris about all the issues I've had with it. They really, truly don't care.

Oh no. I have squirrels too and haven’t had that issues. That’s crazy. So sorry to hear that.

Error 10 is an error for the cord connection. You may need to keep it inside if animals are eating it.

1 time squirrels ok but after that its your fault...I'm going on my 2nd season and its been nothing but perfect...I have squirrels too but I roll my cable up and put the cover on it after each use...for the money I paid I take care of it....

Robot vac's are awesome. they are way better than any hose/suction type and cost way less to operate. My only issue is that the newer ones do not last all that long, and you can't find parts to make the necessary repairs. We are on our third one now and have had it for about three years now. Polaris Dolphin DX4. the box that houses the motor and electronic board leaked. Now I can't find the box unit for under $500. That's half the price of a new unit.

Wow...well fingers crossed I have not had issues with this Polaris unit and this will be my third summer with it and I run it a lot all summer. However one of the reasons I went with Polaris over Dolphin is because I heard stories about how difficult they are to get repaired. My Leslie Pool Supply store is an authorized repair shop for Polaris. Dolphin units have to be shipped out to California for repair from what I hear.

Love the video and review, thank you! I have one as well and have had it for about 2 1/2 weeks. Honestly, not sure if I’m keeping it. I’m not to happy with how it cleans as it misses so much. We have a new Eden 32 fiberglass pool it has a large tanning ledge and steps that never get cleaned. It tries so hard then just make it up the steps. Also it has a lot of curves and if the robot would just make methodical passes, everything would be good but it makes completely random passes. It’s a lot of money to spend for bottom clean only.
Did yours get “smarter” over time? I’m glad it works well for you!
    Thanks

Sorry to hear that. I've used mine for two summers with no problems, I run mine every day in the summer. But I agree it doesn't do corners that well and I can totally see it missing steps.

Thanks for the follow up video! What state do you live in? I had to laugh at the diving board, those things are the devil to insurance companies in Florida. Ha Ha They even make you remove them.

LOL!!! I;m in New York. I thought I would have to take it down as well but my insurance company didn't say anything.

Does this clean the real fine dirt. Does the basket hold the real fine dirt?

    • @MauriceMercado
      @MauriceMercado  Рік тому +2

Yes it does a pretty good job. I still have to to a light brush of the corners but thats better then having to manually vacuum the whole pool. I'm happy with this investment. Thanks for watching.
