Nice little boat build. These 1232 aluminum jon boats were once very popular because they would fit perfectly between the wheel wells and into the back of the tiny pickups that were all the rave throughout 80s and 90s. This size of truck hasn't been available for years, and now this particular size of boat is getting rare. As far as I can tell, all the usual manufacturers - Tracker, AlumaCraft, Lowe, Waco, Sea Ark, G3, etc etc - now only manufacture 12 foot boats that are 36 inches wide at the bottom {1236). ...Just an interesting side note, that's all. I too have an AlumaCraft 1232 jon boat in the yard, and your video makes me want to give it a makeover.
The boat is fantastic. Would you mind telling how much total you have invested in this project? It would help me to decide if this is the route I’d go.
Hey bud, which electric motor do you recommend. The one that’s on this red boat build you made or the e- proportion motor on your personal boat ? And do you know if anyone made a video comparing the two motors ?
If you know someone to fabricate Where the oars go at. Is a pipe and some Floaters that you can take on and off.. I think that be a best way to stable a small boat like that.. I have one , I think I need someone that well that can do that to take one and off
Mine is just fine with two adults sitting and fishing. It definitely is not great for too much standing and walking around though. The real beauty of this size of boat is, at just over 100 pounds empty, two people can load it in a truck, launch it by hand almost anywhere, and go fishing with just a paddle or trolling motor - no gas engine or trailer needed - almost like a canoe but a bit more stable. It is basically the smallest boat that will accommodate two adults and a bit of gear, as long as you are careful.

I built this for a customer but a boat this size can easily run you around 3K in materials.
@@BassBrothersFishingDMV was the boat new or used? Haven’t had a chance to watch all the videos yet, but plan to.
@@bwanasid New.
Would you ever consider doing this to a 15 footer or bigger jon boat? I guess I'm curious as to why a 12 footer. Why not a bigger boat with the build
I'll mod whatever size boat comes my way. This is not my boat. I was hired to do the job.
@@BassBrothersFishingDMV oh cool

Float pods do help but from what I have seem, it's not a complete solution
What was the initial weight? What was the final weight?
Speed when going full throttle?
do you ever run in to leaky rivets on the bottom of your boat rebuilds and if so what method do you use to fix them?
I haven't yet.
How does yours do with 2 people in it? I’m looking at a 1232 now
This was a customer build but I did fish on it once. You do have to be careful when fishing two people. Boat will lean since it's 1232.

Is that a electric motor
How much was this build. If you don’t mind me asking .
over 3k which is actually on the low side. chose your products wisely and buy only what you need.
Thank you for the reply. I want to get something like that done to the same boat, but I want green or blue .
Where can I purchase the carpet?
You can purchase the Hydro at www.hydroturf.com or try TBNation.net. Amazon also has some Hydro Turf as well.
The boat looks great, Centennial sucks!
Lol. Thanks. I hope one day that lake gets back to how it used to be years ago.
