Brother Derek, for you are a brother, I am using my wife’s iPad since she isn’t with me any longer. She passed into the Heavens on 3/4/2024 after being my wife for 59 years. I am known as Wind Stalker in the Green Mountain Brigade and I met you when you and the “dwarfs” came thru on a very cold day this past weekend. We very much enjoyed your stay and glad you enjoyed the biscuits and other food. I am greatly enjoying your videos. I am now 81 years old and have spent most of my free time in the woods. Your comments are right on with your appreciation of everyone’s benefits to the group and what makes us each unique. Thank you for these videos. Your humor makes my day.
Ah I remember you well, Windstalker and we were very sorry to hear about the passing of your beloved wife. Rip. Thank you so much for the kind words and the incredible trail magic and impression you left on us. May our paths cross again one day 🙏
Amazing Grace has always been my favourite. The story behind it, the feelings in the words.... your friend had me in tears. I've a friend, an old man, who has no religion whatsoever, who thought the song was about this superhero woman called Grace. I'll never forget his face when he found out.

Derek, you are doing a masterful job with this series. It's much more than just a video chronicle of an AT thru hike. I have to admit to you that my eyes welled up when you looked out across the mountains and said "land of the free, home of the brave." I've heard Americans repeat those words many times. But as an American descendent of one of "The Young Irelanders," it meant a lot to hear an Irishman say it in 2024! Thank you

hey Jennifer. Bob refers to the ☀️ which we talked about in previous episode :) Emilia sings like an angel! Im not sure we relish this weather but would say we “accept/embrace” it because this is the best way to approach hard times 🙏

I've only just found your videos, a keen long distance walker myself the algorithms seem to have done what they're designed to do, and I'm so pleased they have. Your videos are absolutely beautiful, very moving, and your commentary just brings it all together. One thing though...that voice, that song at the end, it had me in bits, it was one of the most perfect things I've ever heard. A thing of very rare beauty. Thank you so much.

You calm my soul ,Your joy on the trail is palpable! I have wished a thousand I could join u there ( I mean all people on the trail as well ) sadly I’d never make half a mile so this is like being there in a lot of ways . The trail angels wow what beautiful people !

You were in my backyard … you can truly get all kinds of weather, in one day here in smokies of NC. Especially this time of year. Im assuming you came through in march. That was such amazing trail magic! What an experience! Thank you for sharing your life.

So you must be coming into town, but didn’t film it. I kept thinking surely they got supplies in franklin. Then I see at end you crossing dam. So I’m figuring it out. Yeah the weather is very challenging here in the spring.

They are the “Frontiersmen camping fellowship” - a wing of the Royal Rangers (church ministry). That’s about as much as I know ;)
