absolutely loving the alaska videos bro! i just moved to florida from oregon and i’m missing the salmon/steelhead fishing, makes me want to visit alaska!
Man I’m almost the same I moved from WA to Vegas and also miss all the fishing I use to do. Alaska trip would be awesome. I always wanted to go up and fish.
Wonderful wonderful video. I haven't been to the Russian in about 23 years. I guarantee you will look back at these videos in due time and will remember them as some of the best, if not the very best, fishing in your lifetime. Enjoy! Cheers from Colorado.
What a nice video considering the rain and broken net. Good content in the video and you seem to have surrounded yourselves with nice people. Keep the videos coming Jon.
I used to watch you guy years ago I don't know how I ended up forgetting about y'all I've been watching all ur alaska vids your channel is fire I wish I could subscribe 100 times 🔥🔥🔥
I may be wrong but I thought Sockeye were the first to come up the rivers in Kodiak around May then humpies around June July then silvers around August September
The time I sent my parents some salmon I had to flash freeze the fish with a layer of water then dip it in again and flash freeze it. This kept the salmon fresher. Then it cost me about a dollar a pound to ship it from where we worked at to Madison, Wisconsin. My boss threw a bunch of crab in it that he bought as his present to my parents. They lived an hour away so had some friends pick the box up so it would stay cold. Now you can just go to any grocery store and buy it.
You want to see combat fishing come to Vancouver British Columbia the Fraser River and it’s tributaries, Imagine 3 million people in the area and a lot of them like to fish 😁
Looked like a blast! Man can those sockeye salmon move through that water! And boy that looked delicious, I'd never thought of making a sockeye eggs Benedict!
Loving this series guys, I've been waiting for this year's Alaska trip since you boys did it last year. One tip on the eggs for you tho if you want a real poached egg you should boil the egg in deeper water in a sauce pot, cuz what you got going there is actually more of a basted egg
I was watching you on one of your excursions last year last night and you were with one of your buddies out halibut fishing and hooked some nice one. You might have to try that one again!
I love the summer alaska videos all of them are bangers keep up all hard work please! My cousin and I are going to Alaska next summer what reels do u guys use and recommend for the fly rods
I grew up across the street from the Burt dam in western ny. During the salmon run it was combat fishing like 400 people shoulder to shoulder every day fighting over half dead salmon from Lake Ontario. Craziest shit ever! Specially when snagging was legal people using 80lb line rippin Michigan crickets it was pure mayhem!!
Do you guys wanna fish if you guys are up around soldotna area any where around july 18th and july 30th because me and my dad are coming up to see family and fish.
Nice! what day we’re y’all there? Been fishing the last couple days after work. That’s legit one of my two favorite holes on that river😂 this years run is almost giving flashbacks of 2019. I wanna fish with y’all before you leave🤙
Super dope episode Gentlemen ✊🏼🧐! Shoutout to Sam-Bo for absolutely hammering them! Glad to see Lind’s back in action with ya. Keep em coming Brother’s #MinnDak #PatentedFootStomp Cheers y’all 👊🏼😎🤙🏼
Hi guys great video I’m really enjoying your trip. I have a question I thought you had to have a hook only with nothing on it. I didn’t know you could use a fly. Is that only the law in some places?
On the Russian river there is a hook gap regulation. You have to make sure you’re using the correct one. They make Russian flys that are already the correct gap so we use those there
Never had fresh salmon pattys. Only canned for me. Be in oregon in sept maybe we can catch a run on the Rouge,Ump or McKenzie. Truly Combat fishing for ya'll.👍
The last time I broke a net it got caught in the front tire of my bike. It was my friends net so I gave him my net in return. Same exact net except it was pretty new.

Are you using center pin reels or actual fly reels?
In bear country in Kodiak we carried a Rugar 44 mag carbine

The picifun fly reels have been good to us so far

Ha I had 40 lbs. you’ll killed it. Glad y’all had a great time. This run being compared to 2019 run.

Please 🙏 show us your rigging and how you fish it. Hard to beat salmon fishing 🎣 in Alaska, especially with a fly rod!
Tie a hook or fly on then few feet up weight
What weight fly rod are yall using?

Lovin the AK vids! Keep up the grind!
Thank you
Always carry a second net in the car at least if not with you. Because nets breaking happens way more than you would think.
I’m going to have to!
Where abouts were you guys on the river? I’ll be headed out tomorrow… Could use the tip haha.
It’s literally good everywhere
Great job again ❤
You should fly out to Saint Mary's and fish the Andreski river. You will have the river to yourself.
Those look big for the Russian!! Will be in Soldotna next month. Can't wait!
Good luck !

Are you selling your fish?On a panel for DFO. Just gave me an idea
No that’s illegal

Good luck
I sure would like to see grilled salmon.
I met you at the Russian on Fri!
It was nice seeing you!
I work at a fish hatchery in Alaska

Brothers, fly rods don't do well on the Russian River... baitcast reels on monofilament are the best for the Russian River. 😎
Thanks for the tip
He means thanks for tip but you are wrong my guy 😂😂
Tourists use baitcasters
@@goch907 Fly rods are for little trout... Alaskan like you don't get it... hence the horrible combat fishing on the Russian River.
@@faelor03 some people have it some don’t. It’s a skill issue. The Walmart 80$ videos are more your style. No shame in that.
