I literally feel the exact opposite about the doors. Living in a small space I want everything in a cabinet or closet with a closed door so my home looks more minimal and less disorganized and packed with stuff. I hate open shelving and open cabinets ugh just thinking about it gives me anxiety. For me the more I can hide away the more space I feel like I have the less cluttered everything feels.

Hi Robin, Hello from Sydney Australia. Decorating small apartments on a tiny budget can be long life process. I live in 450 sq foot apartment and there is no great solution. I prefer comfort than aesthetic. I have thrifted office chair that is very comfortable. A hand me down Sofa bed that is not comfortable but is practical, I have furniture from my old big house that I don't want to throw away but they are not practical. As a matter of fact there is a big garbage collection I am tempted to throw it out so I can make space for much needed chested drawer. I also need help with space saver interior designer but don't have the money to pay for one. When sentimental values get mixed up it's hard to throw things away in order to achieve practicality and aesthetic.

I moved to a new city last year and am currently renting. I honestly love small spaces, wish my kitchen were larger, but as for the rest, it helps me to keep it 'minimal.' I tend to be an 'organized hoarder', but if I have a smaller space, I tend not to hold on to 'everything.'
My sister downsized from a 2 story 5 bedroom 3 bath home, to a 1 story 3 bedroom 2 bath, and she loves it. I also use dishes, etc, as decor, and I get a lot of compliments on it. One thing that is big to me is 'storage.' I look for furniture that doubles as storage, like a coffee table, or even an ottoman.

Sharrah, your video was so inspiring. I'm moving into a 1500 sqft three bedroom apartment the next month. Till now, I've gotten my sofa cover changed to white and investing in more white curtains. As a mother of two little boys, my house often becomes a mess. However, your tip on tidying was such a relief. 😊💕 It sure takes about ten minutes. Procrastinating only adds up to the mess I'm going to watch the rest of your vlogs now and ,ofcourse, subscribe to your channel here. 💗

Come on! That apartmant isn’t that tiny. Just switch the couch for a smaller one, it’s too big for the space you have

Yes on the 10 minute tidy! I work super full time on weekdays and when I get home I'm so tired already that all I wanna do is sleep. Weekends-days off that's when I tackle all the mess, and yes, they do take ten hours!!!

I really like your videos. They are really inspiring to get my home organized and beautiful. I live in a nearly 100 year old home with my husband and 5 children. My living room layout is so hard to figure out. Its longer than it is wide and on every wall there is something - a door(s), windows and a fireplace, or an arched opening. Finding the correct furniture layout has been very diffucult. This room is where we hang out together along with homeschooling and I just can't figure it out! I've gotten rid of furniture, purchased furniture, moved things around, and it still feels so out of balance.

I can remember when one could rent the entire upper second floor of house for 40 per month.also in the city one could rent 12 rooms for 50 per month. Here on gulf studios start at nearly 2000 and they get it.Home ownership to me is about first the land, then dont go through bank.Build little by little dyi, trading work, and always using salvage. No mortgage and land!

I own my own home. I totally agree with removing the closet doors, and using the light fixtures as designating a specific “zone”. I moved my dining room chandelier over to one side (It is now in the center or one half of the room.) and that helped me to divide my dining room. It left a clear and open path to walk through in the center. I also used a hanging light in my own room to mark my nook/throne area. Lights in general are good for designating points of interest.

For me white and grey walls just make the whole setting look lifeless. You won't believe what colours i have on my walls. My big living room has cucumber green colur walls . My dining room has 1 wall in crimpson red colour n rest walls in lightest dusty pink rose colour. Kids room is in purple colour n my bedroom is in autum shades . I am sure many of you will be shocked to know about my colour choise. But believe me when u entre the house first into living room it feels so relaxing n just cool .
