I've never seen such a great review with so much attention for detail. Thank you for that. I actully live 20 Km from the Gazelle factory and yet here i am watching a Canadian review. I decided to purchase this particular bike for daily commuting.
This is a very thorough review! I did a test ride of this bike a few weeks ago, and learned details about it here that I did not get while talking with the sales person (not Citrus Cycles) or checking out the bike. For instance, I didn't realize it has an internally geared hub, which is something I want, though I'd love to have it paired with a carbon belt instead of a chain. It really is a very nice e-bike with a suite of great features and that allows for a very comfortable upright riding posture. As was pointed out in this video, the upright riding position allows you excellent visibility whether for better monitoring traffic or just admiring the scenery. I have seen the bike jokingly referred to as like riding a couch and I could probably ride all day on it, however ultimately wasn't quite was I was looking for and I am planning to buy a different Gazelle e-bike. But, if you want a comfortable, quality city type e-bike and this one fits within your budget, do consider it. For that matter, it's even worth going over your budget. :)
Love, love this review! So detailed and clear for a newbie like me! I have been looking at a few other reviews, but this is the most helpful! Wish your business was in Ontario!
Best review of this bike I’ve seen. I’ve been riding a Gazelle e-Bike for the last 11 years... and it’s only now needing to be replaced. This will be my replacement.
I used to think swept back handlebars were rubbish because every one I’d ridden was unstable and hard to ride. And then I rode an actual Dutch bike. And realised it was nothing to do with the handlebars. Those bikes were just crap with bad geometry and poor design. Real Dutch bikes are an absolute joy.
Super thorough review! I recently purchased this bicycle and am wondering if you could reveal the name of the chain in the video that is compatible with the cafe lock on the bike. I cannot locate a compatible lock. Thank you.
Great review...yeah it was long but worth it given all the details covered....beauty of a bike alright...I have to chuckle a little bit though at these Cactus Cycle reviews with their hill climbing segments....I wonder how many viewers realize that Ladysmith is the "San Francisco of Canada". Some ridiculously steep city streets!....LOL (Bullitt could have been shot there and it would have been more exiting for Steve McQueen and company) I mean, who on a bike, electric or not, chooses to tackle a street that has a 40% grade???? And you include that in your regular bike "test"??? You should mention that those conditions will only be encountered if you live in an old town built on a STEEP hill like Ladysmith!!! The rest of us rarely see more than 20%. Heck, I know some towns where new road grades are limited to a maximum 12% by law!!!LOL...regards, F
leofranssen I’m English and I have a Batavas dinsdag. I’m very familiar with the Dutch lock system. I also have an attachment so that I can chain the bike to a bike stand.
There is very little resistance from the Bosch Active Line Plus if you turn it off or exceed the 32 km/h cut off speed. I couldn't notice any at all during my ride test.

Ja, prachtige ebike, veel plezier ermee Jan!
This is an amazing review. The level of technology used to produce and the amount of detail is spot on. Thanks so much for this.

I want to thank you for highlighting the European standards when it comes to workers wages etc.
I like your passion for electric bikes.........Another thorough video...

Great review and test ride in inclement weather and various road surfaces.

Can’t believe you have to explain the lock. I am Dutch and 62 years of age. I was using these locks when i was 5 years of age. Haha.

How hard is it to take the wheel off with that brake system so this is a chain not a belt drive and if so do you have a belt drive
*_Thank you so much for making videos about electronic bikes._*
Thank you for this review I will buy Gazelle e-bike in Poland
Very good video I have been considering this bike for a while now. Is there much resistance if you you pedal with the electric turned off?

Good video and nice review brother
