The Bible actually explains why multiple cultures know about the flood. It likely has to do with the tower of Babel incident. After the flood man has repopulated, and built a tower, while doing so God confused their language. People broke off into their language groups and traveled throughout the world

In another 1000 yrs of those actual floods throughout those civilization, People cooked stories and traveled places with those stories. In span of 3000-4000, you could have similar stories getting shared every where relating the catastrophe to faith. The world was not like today where you can catch a plane or search on internet to confirm a traveled story in a span of thousand year by asking people living there if things happened like they are mentioned by religion.

The reason for so many great flood stories is because it happened many times as the ice melted! There is evidence that huge lakes would form near the lip and eventually break free, sending huge amounts of water through the lands. The ice sheets were 2 miles thick and stretched across the top part of globe.

First, thank you folks for creating these excellent and thoughtful presentations. They help us piece together our origins. My best sense, currently, is that space aliens came to Earth and variously managed, enslaved, guided, abused, supported, and taught us. They also manipulated our genes to suit their perceived desired and needs. We had a natural feeling for preserving Nature and helping each other. We were taught war and harming each other by these demigods. This is where religion came from. Those who rose above and attained to higher Realization---the saints, sages, great yogis, and other Divine Realizers (Krishna, Gautama, Ramana Maharshi, Adi Da Samraj), etc.)---appeared periodically to help guide us into real Humanity, beyond subhumanity. And, of course, this story is not over. I will tell you something I witnessed in 2012 on the new mexico/texas line at red bluff.(about 130 miles south of roswell nm) I was on location,the 8 1-H late at night around 10pm,I was facing south on the north side of the oil well sitting in my freightliner tanker truck doing paperwork when I looked out my driver's door window and seen what I thought instantly was a airplane or helicopter but just in that moment I realized it was not either one and a strong very strong power came over my body and everything was ok,I felt like there was no fear nothing to fight about or resist. I watched it as it must of only been 20 feet above the ground move to the next oil location down(chaparral oil well) and it just continued till I couldn't see it anymore,I've never really spoke of this.the Mexicans now refer to that area as angels,but I know what I seen and it was not of this earth

The story of the Great Flood is more than allegory. Allegorical interpretation is what seems to be prevalent today. We can't put ourselves into the shoes and skins of people who lived thousands of years ago. they kept records in oral tradition at first, then documented them in other forms later on. In some case much later on. That does not mean that the stories are nothing more than morality tales. There is much more to them than that.
What would a wave of water 3 to 4 km. 1.5 to 2 mi, high look like. What would you think? Would you try to run with useless effect?

You wouldn`t belive the norse talking of giants, in the north we have way to many mountains named after em. But one could put in the perpective of protectors, as these mountains function in this manner as flood barriers, If one should belive. My closest gigant is from myth known to awaken in the time of need. Roughly 800m above sea. Also, consider where the floods were the worst. Mediterannean/Atlantic coast. And where it was weakest: opposite the Atlantic coastline. Islands had it bad, too even outside of the Atlantic. Perhaps it isn’t just a flood, perhaps it was an event that separated the continents. With the surge of water pushing on the Atlantic coastline and the opposite shores being pushed into the water.

As a Christian I believed the story of the Biblical flood but I didn’t give it much contemplation about how that really would’ve taken place Until I was in a small Native American museum I think near Morro Bay or somewhere on the California coast. I have a degree in non-western arts from UCLA and I also did some graduate work there before I left and then became a therapist. As I was browsing through this little museum I ran across an object that now I can’t remember what it was because it became overshadowed by the fact that it was telling the story of their flood. It went something like this; Eagle Bear and Wolf(May be referring to more than one person because these are totems) we’re climbing the mountains as the flood waters were coming. They reached the top and the flood waters had come right underneath them at the top of the mountain(Depending on when this actually occurred I’m assuming this is related to the Los Padres which was right behind this location). They clung to the top of the mountain and survived. When the flood water had receded they sent Eagle down upon the land to see what had happened to the land. When Eagle came back he had found a woman and she became the mother of the new nation.
This caused me to start reading and researching flood stories around the world which I was vaguely aware of. That’s when I became aware of the incredible similarities and at the time I believe some website that I looked up had collected at least 2000 of these worldwide flood stories that all had very similar elements if you did detach them a bit from culture. But it wasn’t until one of my clients, an atheist and extremely bright guy who had graduated Summa Cum Laude in Mathematics at Berkeley questioned me about how I could be so smart and believe that there had been a worldwide flood. It was a fun conversation not like today where everybody hates everybody for everything different, I found myself saying “well you know what, a big impacter in the ice feilds could have gotten the job done“ and that’s when his eyes went big and round. That was before I had heard of Randall Carlson and the comet impact theory. I think it’s great that God is using, if you will, a non-Christian to so thoroughly explore this event by putting boots on the ground and finding the evidence of the great flood right under our feet. I think it would be pretty darn hard to refute him since he has about 40 years of experience doing this by now and with no Christian or religious motivation. Once you really think about it it is a pretty terrifying event in our history and I find it interesting that this took place probably at the end of the Younger Dryas. Since that seems to be very close to the date of Gobekli Tepe and other such sites in the Fertlie Cresent it would be hard for them to not be related. Since these sites are extremely sophisticated for the era, if they are post flood, Then they really pose a problem. These sites are clearly close to what we would’ve called at UCLA centralized Sedentary cultivators. Somehow they knew that building was stone really increased the permanence of a culture. Maybe that was due to experience. I’ve also really wondered about a lot of the underground cities of the world. During the 1500 years of the younger dryas, maybe we were already being pelted by parts of a comet that was coming around on a regular basis. Why else would you really live underground. You would live in the sunlight unless it was dangerous to be living on the surface of the planet. Even though they haven’t been able to date these underground dwellings it would make a lot of sense that they are related to these events. Also the imagery at Gobekli Tepe Et al might suggest something about harmony with nature, a major theme with these flood tales. Men with phalluses might represent the high need to get busy repopulating. As in “be fruitful and multiply”

If the stories can be dated one would fine they all occurred at the same time. I believe it was a pole shift and like a spinning top the earth moved but the water continued on its assigned course. We would be wise to understand and prepare, but it may be time to cleanse the earth once again.

I don't know how the Great Flood happened, but God is a Savior, not a Destroyer. God and his Great Ship landed on the Tibetan Plateau with 12 flying vessels. God sent his rescue teams to many places to save people, and they stayed there for hundreds of years. At leaving time , the Great Ship was too heavy to take off, so they spent years discarding parts and modifying it . They left with a lighter Great Ship and buried the parts of the Great Ship somewhere there.

Due to increasing population after the Dryas, families mixed up again globally like it is today!? The "Sons of God" are the descendants of Seth in that context. "Sons of God" is found in Genesis 6, and in Genesis 5 it tells you who the sons are, literally listing them out by name. Seth's descendants were called sons of God because they worshipped God. In contrasts to Cain's descendants who sinned continually againsts God "the daughters of men". The reason "sons of God" is taken out of context to mean fallen angels is because many ignore the previous chapter which estaishes them... And it also makes for a more sensational story
"The men of renown" are not giants. These are men who lived to 900 years and were extremely tall. But they weren't a giant race called the nephilim. Keep in mind that Moses wrote Genesis. By Moses's time, life span had already significantly decreased i think between 70 -100. Compare to Seth sons whi lived 800-900 and height and also decreased. So yes compared to Moses who wrote Genesis these men would have been giants, but so was everyone at that time. And Noah was probably the last one of a certain stature.

"They do not marry" marriage was usually for the purpose of procreating and usually when the husband and wife met they didn't court, they would consummate immediately. It's safe to say if angels don't marry, then they cannot procreate. God would design them to procreate and not marry.

Unsurprisingly, the Chinese have the best flood myth. It seems to be an experience grounded within reality. No God or divine punishment. Just a monumental problem and the sheer will and ingenuity of man, not God, to overcome. They must have been on the outskirts of the affected area of the flood.
