- Leider wurden wir auch dieses Jahr in unserem Urlaub Zeuge von Waldbränden. In der Region Dubrovnik hat es im August mehrfach gebrannt. Am 11. August 2012 konnte ich aus nächster Nähe die Arbeit der eingesetzten Löschflugzeuge CANADAIR CL 415 filmen. Dabei sind mir auch einige Zeitlupenaufnahmen gelungen, wo sehr gut sichtbar ist, mit welcher Präzision die Maschinen kurz über der Wasseroberfläche fliegen und gleichzeitig Wasser "laden" (Bis zu 5.455 Liter). Die Idee ist aufzusetzen und Wasserkontakt zu halten, bis die Tanks voll sind und dann wieder raus. Hier in dem Fall sieht man deutlich, dass die Crew mit Wellengang zu kämpfen hat. Eine Welle von vorne hebt den Bug lässt den Flieger springen. Das auszusteuern muss man echt können. Das Springen ist also nicht Absicht.

Eine private US Firma hat eine umgebaute B 747, die fasst 15 Mal mehr, also rund 75 Tsd Liter. Allerdings muss die am Boden gefüllt werden. Solche Firmen werden wohl die Zukunft sein, wenn es um die Rettung der weltweiten grünen Lungen geht!
Stimmt. Aber Boing braucht Landeplatz zum auftanken und man kann nicht in tiefenflug „Wasserbombe“ präzise absetzen. Aus große Flughöhe Wasser landet wie feine Nebel auf den Brand. Klare Vorteile für den Canadier!!

This was filmed in Župa Dubrovačka, 10km south of Dubrovnik. Croatian Canadair pilots are top class pilots! Respect for their service during the fire season. I was firefighter for several years and they "saved" our asses on numerous occasions. They had interesting code names during these ops, "Bird 1" and "Bird 2". 👍😉

Kroatien besitz jeweils 6 Flugzeuge des modernen kanadischen Typs Canadair CL-415 und amerikanische Airtractor AT-802. Gibt in der Waldbrandbekämpfung nichts effektiveres als Löschflugzeuge. Nach den verheerenden Bränden der letzten Tage, wird die Flotte sicher noch aufgestockt.
