I love thrifting and my 18 year son comes with me and we have a love to bless the kids. We find stuff animals with tags and without tags but still in very excellent condition. We live on Kauai and our landfills are getting filled. We have learned to reuse, recycle and restore. I don’t see anything wrong in giving something in great condition. We are all trying our best… our church packed 430 boxes this year… we won’t stop!!! We pray over every single box too!!!
I think these items are perfectly fine! I stumbled upon your video and… Talk about a lump in your throat… this is an amazing thing you are doing. It makes my heart ache with gratitude that there are still kind, selfless people in the world doing these types of things for underprivileged youngsters. Every child needs a little something fun for Christmas. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Things that you showed us look good to pack. I would have loved to have received any of these toys when I was a child. Elmo : I could not see anything wrong with him. Try a red sharpie if he is missing some paint. Thanks for this video. I recently saw stained stuffed animals in a store ( all new items). They were technically new ones that had shelf wear. Looked like they had been on a dirty floor. Your “thrift finds” look great. For the journal, pray for God to guide you. Ask Him if you should write a personal letter on that page. God desires to guide each of us as He directs these gifts. So many of your comments are feelings that I can relate to. I’m packing in South Carolina! Thanks again.
I find things all the time at my goodwill, most times they receive new items from Walmart or target that are clearanced out and didn’t sell. I think sending any of the items you showed are amazing and will be accepted. I think as long as something doesn’t look used it’s totally fine. I would send toys or plushies that look new from a thrift store. 😊 If you still feel conflicted, pray about it and let the Holy Spirit guide your heart ♥️
Sorry I'm just finding your channel now. I've been packing OCC Shoeboxes for over 20 years. Love all your finds. I personally would tear the page out of Star Wars Journal & send it. And I always throw all the packaging for all my toys unless it helps with the description of the story. So if the Barbie or toy is in good shape that's what counts I think.
Great finds. They are gorgeous and absolutely fine to send. You have inspired me to find and add little bits of joy and extras to boxes. All your fibes are perfect perfect perfect for this! I promise you your view is current. You know what is acceptable for boxes it doesn't matter where it came from :-). You can send more by doing this. More children loved. I absolutely do it. I upcycle dolls, make clothes for them. I could never afford them brand new. I also get puzzle sets, split them up in little bags. Sometimes things in thrift shops are new. They are from a collection that's not been played with or even a store that has donated. I honestly think it's a win win. You add extra to boxes and help a charity and the environment! :-)
Absolutely use these wonderful things! Here's what I've heard about the "rule" from Samaritan's Purse... SP has to claim "new" items because of customs. The boxes are declared as "gifts" for customs and not as "aid." To be considered gifts, SP has to be able to say that the boxes are filled with new items, unlike aid which can be used items. That's the letter of the law. But the heart of the rule is that the child receive items that aren't damaged, dirty or used up. The items need to be clean, undamaged, fresh and like a real gift. Those plastic Encanto figures do not look dirty, damaged or scuffed... unlike the Elmo figure. They look like they've simply been taken out of the packaging (which is the same thing must packers do). There's no sign whatsoever that they've even ever been played with. I have no qualms about sending such things. I've also heard from those working in the processing centers that there is an obvious difference between "used" items which must be removed, and "like new" items which they can't even tell aren't new. If the inspector at the processing center can look and see it's undamaged, clean and fresh looking, they send it on. And there's really no way they could even tell those Encanto figures or that doll or the Barbie from the damaged package came from anywhere other than the original store. So they will be sent, because the heart of the rule is to give quality items to bring joy. Those will all bring nothing but joy!
❤️ You answered your question with the statement: “The heart behind the rule!” Your heart chose lovely, quality, and fun items that will NOT be viewed as used. I completely agree with your assessments of the items you purchased.
Awwe Robin I think all these are amazing to send.. I shop alot at the thrift store and find steal of deals. They are new looking items. God sent you there for a reason and I believe he led you to these items. God bless you 🙏 thanks for making such amazing videos and inspiring so many of us ❤️
Thanks!!! It was hard to take that first step but I’m so glad I did. Really it’s you all who have encouraged me. So much support and love in one community!
I would say you can follow the spirit of the law with a clear conscience. Just because it’s from a thrift store doesn’t mean it is damaged or defective. I would say that is what Samaritans Purse means.
It’s okay anything from the thrift store that looks new is more than likely brand new. In fact when I start my shopping next years Boxes I will be going to the thrift store to see what they have that is brand new.
I have purchased “new” items from thrift stores if they are in original packaging or have tags. I think it is perfectly fine as long as the toy is in like new condition. I say go for it as I myself would use them. The packaging is removed anyway and it is new to the child receiving it and they will love it!!! It gives you the opportunity to send more shoeboxes because you are saving $, saving the landfills and providing gifts for s beautiful child. TFS
I think anything that is obviously new is perfectly fine to get at the thrift store. Many people get items, their kids never play with them, then they donate them to the thrift store. I’d rather spend $2 for a really nice, new item from the thrift store than a cheaper item from the dollar stores. I have bought new in the box items from yard sales too.
And, after working at a PC for many years, if I can look at anything with an eagle eye and can’t tell which is new or not, then I pack it. That is in toys. If it’s clothes or hair accessories, those need to have tags.
Robynn, I think everything you purchased is great to send! They are excellent quality and look brand new! I am working on an Encanto box for next year and I would send the characters in my box! Some sweet child is going to have a lot of fun with the characters! You might want to wipe them off with sanitizer wipes(I do that with some of my items I buy brand new😊). Thanks for sharing your finds! 💜💜💜
I think all those items are perfect for another child. As long as the toys are not damaged or dirty or look played with, i say go for it. You can take packaging off as long as the item are protected go ahead and send them
If an item looks new and has no wear and tear on it, I have always included it in an OCC box. I find all kinds of NEW items at second hand stores. Even in a bumped up damaged box, as long as the items are still in perfect condition inside the packaging, I think its considered new still.
What a great haul! IMO these toys are all worthy of OCC boxes, except the Elmo and any others that have any obvious wear. I buy previously owned toys all the time for our grandkids, and they absolutely love them. I've even started taking the grandkids "treasure hunting" with me from time to time. When they stop playing with certain toys, we donate them back to the thrift store if they're still in like-new condition. It's such a blessing to us. We are blessed to be in a position to donate other like-new items to the thrift store, so they can be a blessing to other folks.
This year i was thrifting for myself and found a really nice boys shirt that was in a kids 12-14 and it still had its tags on it I bought it for one of my older boy boxs.
In my opinion, stuffies are difficult. 🤔 If they have the original tags and definitely smell neutral they are okay, I think. (I only buy stuffed animals new.) Toys that are in damaged original packaging are perfectly fine for shoeboxes from my point of view. Even if the toys have been on the shelf for a few years. I would put the Star Wars notebook in a shoebox. You could erase the pencil entry and overwrite it with the love note for the recipient child.
Thank you so much for opening up this conversation. I think this is something that should be talked about and discussed. Personally, I don't see an issue if you thrift items that are new (or like new). *Remember, the whole goal of this is to show the love of Jesus through a gift. With that said... the question you should ask yourself is "DOES THIS ITEM SHOW JESUS' LOVE?"* If so, then go for it. I will say though, in the 3 years we have received boxes, there have always been one or two that come through with very obviously used items (Very worn and pilly stuffed animals, stained or torn clothing, etc.). We even had one box that used literal trash to make their items (still dirty and unwashed milk lids to make tic-tack-toe pieces, old toilet paper rolls in a make-shift car, a glob of hot glue inside of an old coke cap to use as a pin cushion). I am all for crafting and sending handmade items as an extra touch of love, but this particular time it was a little odd what was put in the box. It has surprised me that these items have gotten through, because I thought that OCC had a "no used" policy. Another way to check an item is to ask yourself: Would I want to give this to my child? To my boss's child? To my granddaughter? If it is nice, clean, and you would feel great about giving it to your own child, then I think it is probably alright to send thrifted items. However, if you look at it and your thought is: Well, it's probably better than what they have... (or some other comment of this nature), then the gift isn't the right gift. [I am in no way saying that we should think this way, but I have heard this statement from friends of mine, and this is why I mention it here.] Just my two cents. Thank you Robynn for opening up this discussion.
With all that said, I think everything you bought is perfect for a shoebox. They are all like new, and work like new. Each of those items would be a blessing. Another option for that one page in the Starwars journal is not to cut it out, because you would see the cut page (potentially). You could do your best to erase the writing and then print some character photos and put one on that page (gently gluing it in) and glue a few more throughout the journal. It makes it into a crafted item from you if you cut and add some pictures throughout (like 5 or so). Just a thought.
@@BarretoFamily I second this suggestion. For the Star Wars Journal, I would put a Neat Star Wars sticker over the writing rather than cut out the page.
Thank You for being so honest about the items being put in the shoeboxes. I agree with the way to decide if an item would go in one of the boxes is judge if you would give that item to your bosses' child. I'm amazed at what gets through the PC when the people I know that have worked at them are so dedicated to the mission they are on. Thank You again.
I do the same thing. I was able to buy a plastic beach jai lai set, still in the packaging, from Goodwill for half off. It would have been $3 at The Christmas Tree Shop, but I got it for $1.50. I do the same thing for Angel Tree. I have bought some books that look brand new, since they are only a $1, and honestly I bought used books as a kid that clearly looked used. Or another example is I've read books 2 to 3 times tops from the 12+ age range, and the books still looked new so I gave them to some 12 year olds. I also found a brand new coloring book once, and gave it to an Angel Tree kid.
I buy like new toys and books from thrift stores for myself, family , and gifts. I feel that God would love to have you share those toys with the children.Wipe them off with an antibacterial wipe. I bought these bags for Bingo prizes for my classroom. You are a blessing to OCC. The toys you got at the thrift store are a higher quality than those from Oriental trading. I do love Oriental Trading, too!
Hi Robyyn, Thank-you for sharing your thoughts about thrift stores. I think as an experienced OCC packer that is clear about the OCC guidelines (US) and the personal choices you make about your boxes, thrift store purchases are good options. However, I have seen videos where people shared their thrift store purchases for OCC and many items were clearly used or damaged. I have also received plush toys in my filler basket at the PC that were damaged on closer inspection. So, my general rule for thrift store purchases is to opt for items in their original packaging or with tags. And then add other items as you develop your confidence and get a better understanding of what OCC will accept based on inspection alone.
I agree with the comments! Thrifted/second hand items are perfectly fine as long as they're either brand new (aka still in original packaging) or look, feel and smell good. I'm an avid thrifter for my own life items, but I also always keep on the look out for good quality items for my boxes. I've found items at thrift stores that are in better condition than things I've seen at Walmart 😬
Thank you for this video! I think everything you purchased is in excellent condition and would be a great gift 🎁 I have just learned about filler bags and I’m making some for the processing center and I just remembered today that we have about 50 Boyd’s bears that we inherited a few years ago that have been stored in a cedar chest. I took all the ribbons and tags off and ran them through the dryer on air dry to freshen them up and I will put fresh bows on them. I hope they make the cut❤
I believe that these are perfectly fine. Some stores give thrift shops their discontinued or clearances items. Sometimes the thrift stores have a policy that makes them take things out of the packaging. So "Second Hand" doesn't necessarily mean not new. If it looks new, use it.
I don't see anything wrong with Thrift Stores. I have found brand new clothes with tags on them. If the boxes on the toys is damaged--the toy is still GREAT!! Keep picking and packing!
I agree with you Robyn! most of the places these go to have no garbage pick up! So I am a firm "no packaging" in my boxes lol I have got my mom into it too. I believe if it looks ok, and doesn't look used, its perfectly fine! Hopefully its ok with the processing centers and I think they can tell if something is used. Your plush are def fine! even if a new item is in a thrift store, its still new! its fine! fyi if your worried about germs, germs need a host, thus they do not stay alive on objects for very long at all.
One more general comment on the topic... I often see pictures of where people get actually used Barbies and refurbish them. I do not have that kind of talent or patience to do it well... but I have to say I often think those ones are actually far more lovely than a new out of the box current Barbies. They style their hair and dress them so beautifully and usually have handmade clothing on them that is just gorgeous. And if one of those ladies offered me some I would joyfully put them in my shoeboxes. They are very much covered by the spirit and intent of the rule, which is to help the children experience God's love through gifts His Body have provided just for them. The time and love that goes into that effort is just as great as sewing, crafting or knitting an item would be and the girl who receives it will love it. My personal rule of thumb is... if I would give it as a special gift to a loved one here than it is fine for my shoeboxes.
Send the like new items .in the 5$bad ,just put them in hit water and soap and let them set for a 1/2 hour ,rinse off and let air for a day or so.God Blees💝💙💖
All of that is amazing. I LOVE those mix of toys. Always a good deal. So many toys are just never used 🤷🏼♀️ I look for scuffs and marks and scratched eyes on stuffies. You’re good to go!! The Star Wars one I would take the one page out and call it a day!
Just a thought. Have you ever regifted something? Maybe it wasn’t right for you, but perfect for someone else. Do you realize it was previously owned twice before it was regifted? The person who purchased it owned it the first time. The person who received it owned it the second time. The person to whom it was regifted is now the 3rd owner. Would you consider that item used? I thought I would wait to comment, so as not to influence anyone, but looks like I didn’t have to 😂. I’m sure you know how I feel about shopping for “like new” items at thrift stores, as I now use them, often, in my shoeboxes. However, like you, I used to be very to the letter about this rule, but never really thought about it too much, because I never really shopped at a thrift store before, not for me or OCC. That is, until about 2 years ago I saw Christy M show some fantastic finds for her shoeboxes from Goodwill on her channel. I don’t know if she still does this or not, as her philosophy has changed so much, but, after trying it for the first time, I have never looked back. I am incredibly picky and scrutinize unmercifully. I would send everything you showed, with the exception of the few scuffed items you mentioned in the bag of goodies. Great video. And, BTW, I just saw at DT, Encanto coloring books 😃
Watching your videos and seeing how many great items you find while thrifting is what encouraged me to take the leap!!!! Thanks for being soooo positive and influential. 💕
I believe thrift store shopping is fine. I often find brand new items with their original tags/packaging. I'v ealso gotten bags of plastic toys like the one you showed in this video. After inspecting them I put aside any with scuff makrs, scratches, marks, etc and redonate them to teh thrift store. I use everything that is like new. I would use the Star Wars journal after removing the one page with writing on it.
I purchase at thrift stores. I have found some wonderful new items. Have you considered a large sticker over the writing in the star wars journal. I love the 2 journals. If I find spotless toys in a bag...I put a capful of bleach in sink and clean the toys. For me.... I use them. Thanks for sharing.
You have great items there. I do some thrift shopping for my shoeboxes. The items have to be in new condition. I also give everything the sniff test for no odors. The encanto figures are great. I would definitely send them. I would send all.
I would guess your thrift store has the better prices! I haven't been to McCart in years... you had me curious though and debating if I should check them out again lol. You have done a good job thrifting... I love the dolls you are finding!!
I think the new items found at a thrift store are fine. Sometimes at garage sales you can fine new items too. All the toys you showed would be fine. I do fine sometimes goodwill items will be more expensive then the clearence at Walmart. I have found a bag with a lot of little figures. I just washed them up and they were all in new shape. I added to my pencil packs or filler as a toy with other items.
Are used to have a really hard time with that rule also and still struggle but if we’re taking it out of the packaging and it looks brand new no one will ever know I think they have the rule because they don’t want people taking toys out of their kids room and putting them there that are beat up so if it looks as new as anything else taken out of the package what’s the difference it is a hard choice though
Yes. I know what you mean. By brain has a really hard time with this rule. It makes me feel guilty. But I had a mini revaluation just now. In Greek the word for repentance is Metanoia. It’s actual meaning is a changing of one’s mind and a reorientation of your outlook. 😳 So I need to repent 😉 I need to see it through Gods eyes and not mine.
The struggle is real. I’m a black or white kind of girl. It’s so hard for me to willingly accept grey. 😜 With that being said, my brain says anything in original packaging is a okay. But that’s just me and my personal opinion. 😊
Oh me toooo!!!! Black and White made my life sooo much easier. In this past year and a half we’ve walked through some past church wounds. God is helping me tear down some personal walls I had build using my black and white method. It’s been hard, really hard but he’s showing me a world of color. 🫣 The gray color has been the hardest for me to deal with. Lol. It’s been a treat that he’s using OCC (which I love) to soften the blow of many of the revelations. Thank goodness. PS The Gray world of new in box thrifting is fun!! I was terrified but now I’ve been bit by the bug. 😉
I think all the things you shared are just fine. If it looks new it probably is actually new. So many times, people send things to thrift stores that literally are still new. Something they bought and put in a closet and forgot about until the kid they bought it for is now too old for it etc. Personally, I LOVE that ballerina, Barbie. Her costume is so much prettier than the ones on sale now. I will trade you a current one for it if you decide not to use it next year. ;) Sometimes an older classic model is better than the newest one. Oh and upon Reflection... about the Stars Wars journal... what do the verses say? Maybe they are meant for somebody special. Look them up and if they are good stand alone ones, maybe instead of erasing them, copy the text of the verses in lovely script on that page and then put a personal note of love/encouragement for the child on that one page. :) Many new books/journals come with a gift inscription on one page from the giver.
I am new to packing my own OCC boxes. I did 5 this year. Clearance shopping and end of season shopping all throughout the year will make a big difference $ wise for me next year. I personally think if it was in the original packaging it is ok. I do see other packers buy things such as TY beanie babies from thrift stores and include in their boxes. If you decide to use the stuffies and figures I would use lysol or febreeze and bleach wipes even though it will be shipped and in the box for a long time. I, myself would not use those things in my boxes but like I said I am new to this. So I would thrift shop for only new in original packaging items. I also think the rubber bands are fine. Maybe my brain can't get past it either 🙃
You shouldn't give all our children's toys and clothes to them and ask people to help you to go overseas. I asked OCC and they said to ask the police and local fire department for help to help our children in hardened times, these areas should also get an occ box full of school supplies clothes and small toys maybe some food to areas that are poor cause of not enough jobs or lack of work. There are parents that let it go or don't fight enough in tornado alleys or in floods because there aren't enough jobs that are helping. You should make sure these schools or churches get boxes to our children.
I see no difference between beanie babies that were in someone's collection and the nice find you have with all the original package or price tags. I would just wash and disinfect all the little items that if they look new and you like them, send them. My opinion only, I think if we think they are good to go then someone at the PC will also see the item and if they think the item is good it is good. Your heart is in the best place for the Kiddies.
Great point. My eyes won’t be the only ones helping pack the box. Of course I will only pack what I consider the best quality. But there is reassurance knowing another volunteer will also verify the quality. ❤️❤️❤️ I love this!
Hi, I think that biblically you might just want to steer clear of the appearance of evil. Now its not evil to buy something second hand, but they said no used items. A lot of this is really just blurring the lines. I do also think that some of those things you bought are nice and in decent condition and or are new. ultimately please Follow Gods leading, read his word and pray. :) God Bless You.
Thanks for your insights. I believe you are right about prayer! I know God will guide each box and take care to get all the right items in each box to each child. He is the miracle and we are just the vessels.
I love thrifting and my 18 year son comes with me and we have a love to bless the kids. We find stuff animals with tags and without tags but still in very excellent condition. YES! We need to normalize saving items from landfills.
I love thrifting, and sometimes find new items for the boxes.
I love the “hunt”. Finding new items while thrifting is so fun!
The are beautiful and amazing maravilloso bendiciones 🙏❤️
thanks!
New is new, no matter what store you buy the toy in. One definition of new is unblemished. So by definition, all those toys are new.
Agreed! 👍 😀
I think these items are perfectly fine! I stumbled upon your video and… Talk about a lump in your throat… this is an amazing thing you are doing. If stepping out of my comfort zone means more joy for children then I’m glad to be uncomfortable for the cause.
It’s a YES, and why not, specially when they look great as your finds do. They look pretty new to me
I couldn’t believe what I found at the thrift store!!! 👀👀👀
Thanks for all the tips!!!
I think when you find bargain items where ever it is OK. You can pack more shoeboxes. The children will love all the items!
Agree!

I’m excited to get the green light from soo many in the community. Can’t wait to add thrifting to my OCC hunting. 🤗

I think its absolutely fine
Me too. ☺️

Thank you so much for this explanation. I never knew that about customs. I love learning new things from each other!!! ❤️❤️❤️
Thrift store shopping doesn't always mean used. I would have no problem sending any of the items you picked up today. Send them all.
Thanks Melody. ❤️ you’re right.
❤️ You answered your question with the statement: “The heart behind the rule!” Your heart chose lovely, quality, and fun items that will NOT be viewed as used. I completely agree with your assessments of the items you purchased.
Awe thanks!! Yes. The ❤️ behind the rule! 😀

I hope so 😊

Those Encanto figures are an absolute bargain. I think as long as second-hand toys look new and don't smell funky then they're good to go.
No funky smells here 👃😉

Yes. Great way to look at it. I’ll just judge thrifted item the same way I inspect boxes at the PC. 👍 thanks for the tip.
Robynn, I think everything you purchased is great to send! They are excellent quality and look brand new! I am working on an Encanto box for next year and I would send the characters in my box! Yes. Some of these thrifted toy are cleaner than ones I get in clearance from Walmart. Lol. 🤪
I think all those items are perfect for another child. As long as the toys are not damaged or dirty or look played with, i say go for it. You can take packaging off as long as the item are protected go ahead and send them
Second hand new is always fun to find!
If an item looks new and has no wear and tear on it, I have always included it in an OCC box. I find all kinds of NEW items at second hand stores. Even in a bumped up damaged box, as long as the items are still in perfect condition inside the packaging, I think its considered new still.
Same same. New is new even if it’s old or second hand. 👍
One time a family member was having a rough year they xmas shopped at thrift stores the stuff was brand new looking we couldnt tell the difference.
We got gifts from thrift stores and pawn shops for Christmas when I was growing up and we loved our Christmas too!
How fun to do that with you grandkiddos!!! Thanks for the encouragement.
I would say use them, if they look brand new. The more you save the more boxes you can send.
Amen!!!! Spread out that budget and build better boxes at the same time.
This year i was thrifting for myself and found a really nice boys shirt that was in a kids 12-14 and it still had its tags on it I bought it for one of my older boy boxs.
What a good find.
In my opinion, stuffies are difficult. 🤔 If they have the original tags and definitely smell neutral they are okay, I think. (I only buy stuffed animals new.)
Toys that are in damaged original packaging are perfectly fine for shoeboxes from my point of view. Even if the toys have been on the shelf for a few years.
I would put the Star Wars notebook in a shoebox. You could erase the pencil entry and overwrite it with the love note for the recipient child.
Thanks for the insight on the stuffies, I hadn’t thought of that. (Also I did just use an eraser on the pencil markings in the notebook 👍)
[I am in no way saying that we should think this way, but I have heard this statement from friends of mine, and this is why I mention it here.]
Just my two cents.
So many great finds in thrifting!!!
You can find amazing items ,with new tags on them, even at yard sales .If they are new looking like you showed, that is great!!
Ohhh 😮 Garage sales…. I’ll keep that in mind. ❤️
I think its totally ok. I would just disinfect the plastic toys. The kids wouldnt care. They have nothing and will love it all!!❤❤❤
Thanks!
I agree with your comment, but I would also add some of dollar tree item also.
Yes I was so shocked at the quality items in that store. 😳😳😳 it’s now added to my “go to” stops for boxes.
Yes!!! No old stinky ripped stuffies!!! I definitely prefer the stuff in box too!!!
Agreed! I was so presently surprised.
How wonderful!!! Bears are the best stuffies ❤️❤️ so glad I could help.
I believe that these are perfectly fine. Some stores give thrift shops their discontinued or clearances items. Sometimes the thrift stores have a policy that makes them take things out of the packaging. So "Second Hand" doesn't necessarily mean not new. If it looks new, use it.
Good to know! That might be the case here. I saw a lot of repeats of items especially girls shoes. Entire rows of the same shoe different sizes.
Like someone else mentioned that good will does sell brand new in package items.
Yes! I got several new in box items at the thrift store.
It’s fine to purchase brand new things from a thrift store. Trish from brydfeed does that for her boxes.
I LOVE Trish!
I don't see anything wrong with Thrift Stores. I have found brand new clothes with tags on them. If the boxes on the toys is damaged--the toy is still GREAT!! Keep picking and packing!
Thanks for the encouragement. I will definitely keep the Thrift store in my rotation. 👍👍
Yes a little girl would love that doll
Me too!!! 🍼
Thanks for the encouragement. I’m feeling better and better about it!
Everything with babies dip sectional Elmo is good to go
Thanks a ton!
I love your views. I’m not brave enough yet to tackle refurbishing Barbies just yet, but it does look intriguing.
I think as long as they look new I would just clean them real good those are great toys nothing looks wrong with them
Grea advice!!! As long as they are good as new.
I totally would say yes to what you said yes too and no to the ones you said no too.
Yes yes yes. 🤣 love it.
Send the like new items .in the 5$bad ,just put them in hit water and soap and let them set for a 1/2 hour ,rinse off and let air for a day or so.God Blees💝💙💖
Great thinking. 💡
All of that is amazing. I LOVE those mix of toys. Always a good deal. So many toys are just never used 🤷🏼♀️ I look for scuffs and marks and scratched eyes on stuffies. You’re good to go!! The Star Wars one I would take the one page out and call it a day!
Yes. It feels kind of like being a box inspector at the processing center. Yes to the new ones no to the dingy scratched ones.
Thank you for your insight. ❤️ I agree 😀
What great advice! I did keep the journal and most of the toys. Just a small ziplock bag in ones that were “damaged.”
If it looks new, I send it.
Me too. Well I guess I mean; me too after sooo many others, just like you, encouraged me. 🥰
You have great items there. I do some thrift shopping for my shoeboxes. The items have to be in new condition. I also give everything the sniff test for no odors. The encanto figures are great. I would definitely send them. I would send all.
The sniff test. Lol. But yes must be done. 👃🥴
I would use all of the like new items. Those look like tags from McCart Thrift store in Ft Worth area.
I’ll have to look into McCart… I usually venture into Denton for shopping. We live out in no-man’s land. 😉
I love the idea of filler packs!!!!!! 😍😍
Just fine to me
I think so too. ❤️
Yes I think the ballerina Barbie is prettier than her modern counterpart. I’m glad I picked her up.
I would try to erase the pencil!
Great idea!
🎉5 boxes!!!! Welcome to the OCC family. Thanks for the cleaning tips. 😀
You can reach out to Samaritan’s Purse and request that boxes get sent to your area.
It's buy grace
Thanks. 😀
They look good to me Robin
I think soo too. 👍
I feel like if you find stuffies or toys thats new doesnt look used with tags or not i dont think you should send used stuff that looks used
Agreed! 👍
:) God Bless You.
ps. The notebook with writing it , I would consider that used as well as the bag of toys.
Thanks for your insights. I believe you are right about prayer! I know God will guide each box and take care to get all the right items in each box to each child. He is the miracle and we are just the vessels.
