9:45 There is a HUMONGOUS reason they would do that, and it's so unbelievable obvious. The Pterosaurs eat fish. There are fish in the Lagoon. Just let the Pteros trying to catch some fish and instead get snatched by the Mosa or other. Done.
I think they need to know the pteranodon is there. In the movie they splashed around in the water before the mosa grabs one. Maybe if they were swooping to grab fish from the feeder then as they tried to flee the mosa or something else jumps up and grabs it.
2 things: Small predators need a nerf Herbivores with defensive adaptation deserve a boost Also, you forget tho test the interactions between Pachycephalosaurus and Pteranodons
@@realamericanman They always do. Herbivores can be scary and tough too. Have they ever heard of moose? Or hippos? If a triceratops could fight off and deal with (or even kill) rexes 65 million years ago, they should be able to do it now.
Herbivores in real life are about as dangerous as the carnivores hippos in Africa are the most dangerous animal in the country but because they eat there vegetables people think there weak, herbivores don’t get there respect so I see why frontier did it but they need a buff even now after the small carnivores have gotten a nerf. And small carnivores still need a bigger nerf.
What about testing Dimorphodon? It's got a different animation for killing people, so it might have different animations/interactions than the bigger pterosaurs have.
so I feel if the pterasaur can’t pick up a fairly thin human sized raptor but can barely pick up a chonky struthi then there is definitely something wrong
Well if a small pack can kill an indom and one vs indoraptor can one shot kill it... I wouldnt be surprised if they could dawn scuba gear and out swim a mosa to kill it.
Velociraptor: "Oh nyo, scawee ptera man is coming for me. What ever shall I do u_u." Also Velociraptor: *"Sike! I way three times as much as you idiot."* On a more analytic note, I really love the pteranodon - raptor interaction. It makes the raptors look _extremely_ smart in a very believable, non-human way. It runs from the ptera to trigger the predator instinct in the ptera, coaxes it to give chase, then dodges last second and turns the tides(That weren't actually ever on the ptera's side, given the mass difference noted. And yes, I used the mid-ground weight for pteras because both extremes receive a lot of flak from the opposing side. So it's ~100 lbs vs ~300 lbs).
Hot take; pterosaurs should be allowed to pack hunt. Them flocking to take down large herbivores and carnivores would be cool. Also, I wish hunts would fail more; herbivores get away, pack hunters decide it's not worth it and bugger off, etc.
One thing that's bugging me so far from what I've seen is the fact they're just killing repeatedly. Pterosaurs shouldn't be killing just for funzies. 😂
The attack frequency needs to be turned waaaaay down. What animal would go around just randomly attacking animals like this? Unless threatened or hunting for enjoyment/etc, animals don't really do that.
What about a video were you made base stats predators Hunt maxed stats herbivores? Just to see how the herbivores can actually kill or escape the predators (cause watching 4 raptors kill a Brachiosaurus without getting damage Is a bit ridiculus)
I do kind of wish that the attacks would sometimes fail, like the Struthiomimus will dodge the attack or the Velociraptor would leap into the air but miss the Pteranodon
Back when game footage was released and a Carnotaurus was seen falling when it tried to hunt a Parasaurolophus, I thought attacks could fail and the herbivore would get away But I guess they can’t, which is unfortunate, since hunts often fail in real life
I am happy to see that the raptors are so so so much better in jwe2 They feel more intelligent by them planning and doing an attack as group And they feel scary and dangerous by having them climbing fences and murdering flying reptiles THAT'S HOW RAPTORS WORK
I'm not able to play since the game seems to have been made so that you can't adjust any graphical settings before launch and I guess my gpu doesn't make the cut (even if I've run higher spec games, including the previous title before), so watching some of these videos has been a great way to not feel as depressed about it whilst I assess my options.
@@BKnerosky I could not. With the latest patch I can now get into the game and adjust settings. I have yet to really test it, but my partner is getting a new pc setup we can test stuff on as well without issue. We’ll compare how well it performs on each pc. Ideally, I should be able to create similar performance standards with minimal visual adjustments, but we’ll see.
I can see that the raptor slows down then leaps up grabbing the pteranodon’s foot and pulls it to the ground where it pins it down and delivers the swift killing bite. Which is fascinating that they really show off the raptor’s ability to jump and climb in the game since it is usually overlooked I feel. That’s what I saw it may be different but that’s my pov of what happened.
I feel like it would be better if instead of outright killing the larger of the small herbivours Struthy,Dry,Gally and the rest it would be more intresting if the Pterosaur, tackled them, and then when they try to attack again after tumbling down the Struthy just gives a kick that hits the pterosaur down to half health and makes it back off. It makes more sence to me than outright killing them cause Struthy is too big for the prerosaurs in the game to kill. As for Mosa it would be fun if they did a JW and the Pterosaurs dive in the lagoon to catch fish that spawn from the fish feeders and theres a chace presentage where as there flying off the Mosa jumps out and catches them,or it misses and the pterosaur lives to flap another day.
A little off topic but what happened to what we thought was a failed hunt when the Carno was chasing the Para in the trailer? Is that actually the herbivore escaping? The way the Struth almost got up at the end reminded me
I’m also confused about that, I always assumed the hunt failed and the Para got away, but maybe falling was just part of the animation and they can’t fail? I really hope hunts can fail, but I haven’t seen it happen yet based on the videos I’ve watched so far
Lots of cool animations in this one. It'd be neat if medium to large theropods would attempt to sneak up on sleeping pterosaurs as a hunting animation but the raptor hunting them animation is neat. Looks like the raptor is actively baiting in the pterosaur in and snatching it right as it realises its mistake.
In the JP chaos theory I accidently released the compys with the raptors, and the raptors literally have a good animation for hunting the compys and they were gone within a minute haha
What I think would be cool is even if they don't fight, a pterosaur could try to land on a sauropod or ceratopsian only for said dinosaur to shake it off as if to say "Hey! get off me!"
Can someone please tell me how to unlock the deluxe edition dinosaurs for sandbox? I went into challenge mode on the first map and there not in the hatchery as options.
I know why you can't get HelicopterxDino interaction (ptera and mosa) is cuz you're controlling the helicopter. It'll only work when the heli flies by itself through task and what not
Thanks for testing it but could you if you have time try indominous and indoraptor. Also the aquatics might work if they are something like plesiosaur. Good video though.👍
More like the Peranodon goes for the raptor, but the raptor spots the pterano' and slows its run just enough so that once the pteranodon tries to pull up, it's in perfect striking distance for the raptor to grip it's leg/wing and bring it down. Frontier really went the distance for how fliers interact with Dinosaurs.
Interesting. Question, while I'm at work and can't play....does the fencing clip to the lagoon or aviary? Like can you have a land exhibit meet up with the lagoon or aviary without a space? Not sure if anyone has done that yet.
Maybe to get the mosa kill animation you need a pathway close enough to we’re a pteranodon can pick up a guest and fly over the lagoon (as a reference to JW) idk but would be cool if I’m right
What about the Pachy, Draco, and Styg? It makes sense that the homalocephale would be instantly killed, but the other pachycephalosaurs could at least fight back against small carnivores in the last game?
Pack Hunting can truly defeat anything. Flying dinosaurs? The dinosaurs will now stand on each other's backs, like kids trying to sneak into an adult movie.
The biggers pterasaurs should be able to pick stuff like homalecephale and got to take with them. It would also be cool if they could eat the piscavores by going under the water to get them but while they are done there some of the marine reptiles can get them
I think when certain dinos like the pteranodon attack, say the struthiomimus… That when The weight is too much for it, and it and the bigger would-be prey item rolls. That it has a chance to fail and roll over the predator, injuring it or maybe even killing it from the weight rolling over it.
Lastly I think that when the helicopter is flying over the lagoon that the Mosa should at least surface and swim around looking at it like it is planning on lunging at it. I also believe that it would be awesome if the Mosa did a vertical lunge like a crocodile does toward the helicopter when it flies slow overhead. Hopefully they’ll give us the JP3 appearance for the Pteranodons in the future.
