Dustin, I just want to say how much I enjoy your informative videos. I actually just found a few great items recently. I found a vintage Izod Lacoste Cashmere wool sweater, and a vintage Cabbage Patch doll. I found a 1987 G I Joe space shuttle one time for $10, flipped and shipped for $120.
It will be interesting to see how much sits in thrift stores during yard sale season. I know here in PA some of ours are crazy with pricing within this past year
I noticed last year some of the stores that bumped prices over the winter did start to bring them back down going into the spring. These stores also end up with a large influx of donations from community yard sales and just need to move stuff too so that may be depressing prices as well.
In Northeast PA and I can confirm goodwill has gone nuts with pricing. It tends to be fairly good for items you want for yourself but I'm barely finding anything for resale. Also for some reason my local goodwill stores don't have electronics.
@@CheaddakerT.Snodgrass some goodwill stores have deals with other places where they just sell all stock of a specific item to them directly. There's a goodwill in my area that does not carry DVDs/CDs/vhs because it all gets sold to another media store.
I'm in SW PA, where GW has minimum pricing of $2.99. On the same day in the same store, I found a bag of beanie babies for $2.99, then a single one for $2.99. So, it depends on who is pricing items. I even found a pack of pencils that had an 18 cent Target tag on it.....for $2.99.
Prices are up because resellers bragging in stores to employees/managers about profits, in addition to, all the resellers bragging videos they see..that's why the prices went up..
I love your goodwill trips watching what you purchase. Some items I’ve never heard of like the fryer but I like listening to why you didn’t purchase something, it’s like a mini lesson. Always looking forward to your videos.
Nice find i found a 50 dollar item with a few sold and it sold for 1000 plus 54 shipping with in 10 days so never say it probably won't sell...always say it will sell sooner or later gotta be positive lol there millions on ebay you just need that 1 person lol odds are good lol
I have a Mass Effect Statue that I bought years ago. I was excited to see two others listed for $900 and $1100. SO I priced mine right in the middle. And it sat. And sat. So I marked it down to $500. And it sat. And sat. Maybe if I am lucky it's actually worth about $300 to $400. Fingers crossed.
I just saw a Robot Coupe at Goodwill yesterday. I looked at it, opened it up. It was very dirty so I left it. I didn’t really know what it was and didn’t want to clean it! Seeing your video today, maybe I should have bought it.
Hey brother, just chiming in on GW pricing. It really does depend on management and pricer. I have 2 stores within 7 miles each direction. One always has good deals, the other is crazy and doesn't carry hats (kinda my cash flow item).
Yeah, it really can vary from store to store. Who is pricing, etc. Also, I've noticed some stores will start getting a bit high and if you just give it some time prices tend to come down.
Our goodwill tags all Nikes hokas brooks etc with special tags and price them insanely high. $15+ for beat shoes.. they know what resellers are looking for. They also tag squishmallows for $5-$6 even completely stained and dirty. I have to hunt for overlooked items most of them time. Our paperbacks are $1 and hardbacks are $2 so that’s the only area that isn’t bad. They don’t keep any video games out on the shelves at all, they put them all on their website for more money..
Oh and I found out within the last year or so that with the "Gold Box" LOTR extended cuts that the 2012 copyright ones are the more sought after due to a video quality issue that was fixed from the previous 2011 "Gold Box". I was looking to update around that time from my DVD sets and read about it.I didn't have a clue there was any issues before then. However with the Anniversary BD set and separate 4K/BD set the secondary market kinda has been flooded with people trying to re-coop for upgrading.
One other point in Goodwill pricing..I have become friends with the mgrs and the employees crazy not build that relationship escpecially if you watch this channel and watch them personally bring Dustin items or steer him in a certain direction. The pricing isn't the stores fault its their higher ups in corporate making these mandates for pricing especially hats sneakers and other items so don't hate your local goodwill its not their doing they be happy to have everything sold for the space for the constant processing pricing storage etc..
Most of thrifting to resell is living in the "right" ZIP code. GW is usually a spoiler --- in my very small town --- they suck up the available donations and export anything with over $ 8 in profit in it to Shop GW. They've been less greedy for much of this year but I'm still looking for their "mistakes". The YT'ers love to film at GW because it sends a false message that "anyone can do this" and "you have a GW near you, don't you?" Hang in there.
@YT Skeptic2022 its not really a false message.
