TS chip in my 97 ccsb OBS for 8 years and keep it on 100 hp setting... Towing and everyday driving... With the automatic. No issues. The 100 hp settings seems to get the best mileage and the best Transmission shift points ... And is why I keep it on that setting.
GAUGES BEFORE POWER ADDERS. PERIOD! Even though I'm sure he didn't damage anything for what little time he was heavy on the throttle, that 140 HP setting will raise EGT's FAST... you really need to keep an eye on it, thus you must have at the minimum an EGT gauge. Then trans temp, then a boost gauge if you want one. With stock internals, the 7.3 will run safely for long periods under 1,250 degrees Fahrenheit with the probe installed in the exhaust manifold and short times above that temperature, but play it safe and stay under. Also, don't bother installing the gauge in the downpipe. Some aftermarket DP's come with a bung already but just do it right and drill/tap the driver's side manifold. It's easy. Of course you'll never see the full additional 140 horsepower as claimed but you'd come close with all the supporting mods such as fuel pump and the Ford Severe Duty intake system to name a couple. Having said all that, TS is a decent chip but it's a canned tune. There are better choices for around the same money or not much more. More power is always more fun, but one must always prepare for it with gauges and the right mindset else you may soon be left with a truck that's found on the road dead.

Your not supposed to tow on a 100hp setting. Thats why you have the 25-50 hp tow settings depending on weight. Its amazing it didn’t let go well before that towing on the hot tune.
I have a 99 F350 with the ZF-6 transmission. 368,000 miles. I am mostly after better milage (this is my daily, and tow rig for my camper and race car hauler). I drive like a granny, but a bit better efficiency would be nice. Should I purchase this chip for my truck?

I have the same one but when it goes into 3 gear if I'm into the throttle it hits so dam hard i thought i dropped my transmission the first time and a few times since, what i found was back off the fuel when your going into that gear its fine now, i have put the 3 inch turn down into a 4 inch straight pipe, open the air box and this programmer and it rocks big time.

And no turbo stall Then there’s a Fuel up grade you also can do I have done them all in my trucks a weapon Dino horse power it lays down the well over 500 horse 790 foot pounds of torque with minimal modifications done to the transmission by changing the valve body and using the 04 6 L transmission cooler when you do these upgrades are going to think of your driveline or she’ll spit a tranny pretty quick it’s also good idea to install a transmission temperature gauge I am also a fellow Canadian what part of Canada are you from I’m in Ontario
bowhunter1020 yes I ran a ts6 for awhile but went with edge because they are a bit better imo. My 7.3 has 580k on it and ive boost launched it. Might have to change 580k miles to km if you’re up north haha
I just got a 97 7.3 f250 the guy before me got a TS chip in it in Feb of this year, and the chip want out (1 mouth after installing) and now the tras has a hard shift could it because of the chip going out? It was doing good before hand
So Louis, u think it has enough power to move around on 140 u saying its moves quick. I was thinking going for 6.0 and they make huge power and very fast but heard they have issues and problems so don't want to keep $$$ on 6.0 so maybe I'll find super duty 7.3.
They recommend it just because stud is gonna be running a lot hotter if I was you I'd get a egt deleter a boost and a transmission temp they will run you 225-325 depending on brand
Jeffery It Depends How Safe you want to be i just made a 400 mile trip and back on 140hp and had no problems im still going to get those gauges though ;)
So I a "true 140" as opposed to untrue 140? So my one 140 hp could be 80 hp? The answer is yes! So changing the torque management, dumping fuel, and rompin on the gas pedal get you better fuel mileage? Go figure. You might be able to pull it off and drove like a granny. More power takes more fuel it's just physics. By your reasoning and 800 hp Viper would be getting s 50 to 100 miles a gallon. I guess you figure since there are so many fake chips out there that make that claim that it can't hurt for you guys use it to, right? When I built my LS one I was getting almost 32 miles a gallon on a 1700 mile trip stock is 350 hp at the flywheel. New engine that had to be kinda conservative on the cam with because I'm in California and makes 400 hp and torque at the rear wheels with a good tune. I lost 3 miles a gallon on the same trip. I don't like factory shift points on anything either but their reasoning is keep transmissions from blowing up. Black smoke is unburnt fuel. And no people don't like driving through your thick cloud of black smoke. So this isn't really a tune this is just turning shit up. You don't mention it your engine will not last as long your transmission will not last long, you kinda forgot to mention that. If you get a good tune on a diesel the way they're made now you should be able to get good power and not have all that smoke. How are we supposed to tell how much power it makes it is by watching you driving around? If you know how much it makes why don't you just show us demonstrating it on a Dyno, instead of just doing a sales pitch and telling us how wonderful it is making smoke, and doing a power brake burnout? Take a wild guess and say that results may vary widely. I gotta say you definitely sound like a snake oil salesman.
Why don't I buy/trusted this... these diesel all you really need is has it up and the black smoke will show. Plus this thing adding 140hp at the wheel... than how come non of the Drag cars, NASCAR, or F1 Formula not have it installed in their ride. I wonder why...? So adding 140hp on an stock engine will make your car super fast without any type of mods... with this being said your company should of put a lot of consumer out of business.
lol, not sure, I have so much into it I can never get my money back, I probably have 50K into it with all teh r and d i have done, not including my time!

I have this chip in are truck 2000 7.3 if you really want to make it turn on and keep your EGTs down Install the wicked wheel 2 also install big boost and the K&N Cold air intake and you think the 140 was a big Gain in horsepower do that MOD to it and you’ll shit your pants and keep your EGTs down that little modification it adds almost 75hp and it’s a noticeable difference with out the chip!!
Have you had any ill efects from the chip?
Nope - loving it!!
Is that 140 more rwhp or at the crank?
motivation_is_everything "at the wheels"
Lift kit and bigger tires please! Is there somewhere we can donate so u can get one?
Torque increase?
You should put some chrome stacks on the truck
more wear on the seats makes it lighter makes go faster lol
Where did you guy this chip?
great job...your now my guy for advice...
Did you straight pipe it first? If not your egts are gonna be sky high and you will blow that 7.3 up
How many kms does your truck have? I have one but it has 500000 kms and I don't want to blow my motor. Will it be ok?
bowhunter1020 yes I ran a ts6 for awhile but went with edge because they are a bit better imo. My 7.3 has 580k on it and ive boost launched it. Might have to change 580k miles to km if you’re up north haha
Shift points? that's cute.
Can you put this on a 2014 Ford F-150 5.0
no
Does anyone offer a sticker to show settings that can be installed
just gonna change my mirrors real quick ahh there we go
I just got a 97 7.3 f250 the guy before me got a TS chip in it in Feb of this year, and the chip want out (1 mouth after installing) and now the tras has a hard shift could it because of the chip going out? It was doing good before hand
Do you still have this truck? And if so how did trans hold up, and what setting have you run the most since having it? Thanks
No I dont but it was fine and was running years later
i have the ts chip its a very good chip but its feel like its burning my turbo and its feel like its killing my 7.3 engine tbh
i have that same shirt, i didnt put stickers on it though
So Louis, u think it has enough power to move around on 140 u saying its moves quick. I was thinking going for 6.0 and they make huge power and very fast but heard they have issues and problems so don't want to keep $$$ on 6.0 so maybe I'll find super duty 7.3.
7.3s are the only good Ford engines. You have to dump thousands into 6.0s to make them reliable.
+TheBCSledder actually they aren't Ford engines... Navistar International made them for Ford.
Would I need to get some gauges for my truck to monitor it while running on 75 hp
They recommend it just because stud is gonna be running a lot hotter if I was you I'd get a egt deleter a boost and a transmission temp they will run you 225-325 depending on brand
Jeffery It Depends How Safe you want to be i just made a 400 mile trip and back on 140hp and had no problems im still going to get those gauges though ;)
make a vid of a 2016 doge RAM 2500 disel with a performance chip on It
So I a "true 140" as opposed to untrue 140?
Bud, I think that is the only time I've ever floored that truck...it's a video right.... Better shifting patterns do lead to better fuel economy.
is the trans on this truck built at all? or will the ts blow the trans?
in 140 the trans might slip but thats the only negative effect, if its an auto trans then it can get hot pretty fast to
You should do more videos of your truck
Why don't I buy/trusted this... these diesel all you really need is has it up and the black smoke will show. Plus this thing adding 140hp at the wheel... than how come non of the Drag cars, NASCAR, or F1 Formula not have it installed in their ride. I wonder why...? So adding 140hp on an stock engine will make your car super fast without any type of mods... with this being said your company should of put a lot of consumer out of business.
Looks like a stepdad named ken
rollin coal son.
LOL, thats what the cruiser is for!
Idk how a 7.3 with a tuner can do that. There kinda slow
lol, not sure, I have so much into it I can never get my money back, I probably have 50K into it with all teh r and d i have done, not including my time!
