Gyrocopter Idle Power Soaring

On a relatively cold August afternoon I decided to try soaring at a specific location I know very well. The winds were above 50-55 km/h on the ground which turned into 60 with 70+ gusts at a few hundred feet AGL.
This was a very interesting practice, and my new record on fuel economy which was actually below 5 liters per hour during the time period of pure soaring.
The throttle was untouched for more than an hour so I could almost feel like gyro-glider pilot :) :)
If there was a landing spot ahead of me instead of the river, I would have turned the engine off and very likely, could have stayed aloft as well!

Looks like your cyclic has very little vibration -- That's awesome! So many gyros I see have a lot of stick shake. Great flying! Cheers!

We call it slope soaring! I do this with un powered RC gyros that I design!
