Hello! Don't know if you ever found out more info about that Keebler Teen Titans book, but I know how I got my copy of it. It was handed out at a drug awareness presentation at my school with the local law enforcement officers, want to say it was 4th or 5th grade. Still have it today as well!
Welcome back and congratulations Rachael! ✨ Glad the business is doing well, but so good to see you back talking comic books in the ‘store room’. Keep them coming! 😀
Some nice Oddities, have some Gi joe Comics Magazine in the smaller format, the Cap's War on Drugs, and the Spider-Man/ Power pack John Byrne cover, and the Spidey, Storm Power man I pick them up when I see them. Don't have anything on the Tarzan or Popeye. Good Video, Welcome back!
Those old Curtis/Marvel magazines are amazing. I started with getting all the Savage Sword of Conan/Conan Saga runs, but then started branching a bit. Epic Comics, and a few others with Robert E. Howard ties (I'm an REH/Conan specialist). The painted covers alone are worth the price of entry. Those came from the old Creepy/Eerie magazines in terms of inspiration and competition. As far as preservation, I just use magazine bags/boards and magazine short boxes. They work well. Or you can use the CGC comic boxes.
Best wishes, Rachel! I'm glad to see you guys back. I have that very issue of Popeye from Bold Detergent. My grandmother got a copy each for my brother and me when we were little. Mine is a little more beat up than that one, but it was well loved. I'm pretty sure it was attached to the box, and she picked up two boxes in order to get one for each of us.
Very happy to provide some stuff you've never seen b4! ;) (I bought that 141 in order to replace mine [which I kept]) when I saw it was a pence I thought it might tickle you!) Those ASMs are on sale everywhere here off the magazine racks! I get them at my local corner shop when I run outta oat milk! I can't remember for the life of me where those Transformer books came from... I was a TF nut as a kid so must've hovered 'em up without thinking too much about them! Cheers! PS: Yes, it's true, sell your books to FPVC. Easy, lovely to deal with. (And, yeah I shopped around on two continents.) Cheers!
That Marvel "Haunt of Horror" is probably more accurately described as being a digest, and it is published in the digest-sized format, rather than "book size". Digest-sized publications have taller and wider dimensions than your typical paperback (but smaller than a comic book), and they definitely don't fit in paperback-sized collectors' bags. Also, Gladstone (named for Donald Duck's lucky cousin) was originally publishing Disney books in the late 80's, until corporate Disney saw that it could be done profitably, and then started publishing the Disney titles themselves. At that point (early 90's), after the loss of the Disney properties, Gladstone launched its EC reprint line; I don't think any of those Gladstone EC reprint titles lasted more than 6 issues. Not long after that, Gemstone got into reprinting all the old New Trend ECs in a format that more closely resembled the originals. And then Disney got back out of publishing it own books, with the license returning to Gladstone, which produced not only conventional Disney comics. but also handsome magazine-sized Albums with classic Duck reprints, as well as collecting Don Rosa's Disney work. For that matter, I'm pretty sure Gladstone also published some digest-sized comics, to capture some check-out lane retail sales. Despite producing some handsome funny books, Gladstone was nonetheless out of publishing before the turn of the century, I think.
I opened the haunt of horror to look at the interior and noticed it was a digest. There are black and white illustrations throughout, which looked great, but I really only got a peek of them due to not wanting the cover(s) the get a crease by the spine. Thank you for all of the history as well! I really wasn’t into this stuff in the 80s and 90s when I was collecting. I did like the EC reprints, and had them in my pull box.
I was just thinking oooh my we are going into withdrawals from not having you each week. Good to see your back and so glad you had a wonderful honeymoon ❤️❤️ glad your both back love you both
Thank you! That is very thoughtful! Rachael and I have a lot of plates in the air. It’s tough to keep up with everything we want to do and still have a life.
I always enjoyed the Tales of Zombies covers

Congrats on the wedding and honeymoon. I hope that wasn't a shot at Michigan guys. I'm no fan of Lansing but I'm a huge fan of Ann arbor. Go Blue!!!
Go blue! It was just a joke. I guess I should have said Winnammuka Nevada. No big fans of that town.
The daughter I never had!
I was worried.
Me too. Genuinely.
Thank you! That is very thoughtful! Rachael and I have a lot of plates in the air. It’s tough to keep up with everything we want to do and still have a life.
Collectibles is spelled with an "i".
Thank you.
Collectable is acceptable for use as well.
Wow, you must feel so smart!
