    The track played at the pixel art section made me rewind that segment multiple times. What a banger ❤️

      It is great, I think it's my favourite track for Jammer as it is more melodic than his usual work. I was playing this track in the background while editing the video together.

      It's a different sounding beast again with a bit of channel delay and dynamic filter action i think?!
      Sounds ultra good

    C64 was the king of 8 bit at my school. Still ❤️ speccy but this beige beast is awesome. Amazing how both machines are still going strong

    A mixed bag this time. Do like the look of Knights and Slimes, I will give that a try on my next C64 Stream I do. That Pixel Art section is WOW, amazing work. So many talented people out there. The Game based on Smash Bros but with C64 Characters is a genius idea. Well done on another superb update. Happy 40th C64, I've just turned 40 also, so I'm the same age as that awesome little Machine.

    I agree about Rabenstein mate, I would like the original text input version with the SID track. Great video as always too. That Knights & Slimes is very good, completely flew under my radar that one.

      Thanks for your ongoing support Rich, I was wondering if I would be the only one about Rabenstein point and click. Knights and Slimes is a steal at only $3USD.

    I always keep tabs on new scene releases via CSDB, to see what great new party releases there might be, music, art, demos etc...plus the great games we get aswell!! But I also very much enjoy your round up videos too!! I already have the fantastic 'Lifecycle' "burnt" to a floppy disk, and I actually got a little teary eyed the first time I watched it, as some of the things featured in it hit home personally with me, I can relate to it so much...but what a bloody impressive demo overall, I love some of the animations, and lovely music...great work!!
    I have Mike Mech but haven't played it yet, but after seeing it here and how good it looks i'm definitely going to very soon! Plus i'll be checking out all the other good games you featured aswell!!
    Thanks for another great video RGN....Cheers!!

      Hey, thanks for your comments and for letting us know about your personal connection with the Lifecycle demo. I really enjoy it from both a story telling and technical level. At a broader level, it is great to hear that these round ups can be appreciated by those who closely follow the scene even though its target audience is more towards those who don't have the time to watch what is going on. Cheers!

      @@RetroGamerNation No problem!! Yes your round ups are certainly appreciated mate!!
      I was thinking the other day about whether we've seen the best of what the super talented scene demo creators can do with the good old C64, whether it has been pushed completely to its limits, and then I thought, no we probably still haven't seen the best yet, even though there are some truly stunning demos already out there that amaze me. Anyway, I now have a good collection of new blank floppies just waiting for those future classic releases 😀

    One of the BEST C64 channels on UA-cam...the only other one that is consistently as good as yours is BastichB 64K. Keep the C64 going my friend! thanks!

    These new releases sound nice, still I'm convinced that the C64 (even without any expansions or hardware new tech tricks), if seriously and fully exploited, could do much more and better. Probably I'm wrong, but that's my feeling about it.

    Nice video but the only game I would consider is Knights and Slimes. Not a fan of strategy, point and click, text adventures or turn based games. I prefer easy going, fun, relaxing games so if I have to spend more than 5 seconds working out what to do next then its not for me.

    • @RetroGamerNation
      @RetroGamerNation  Рік тому +1

      Thanks for taking the time to comment. You would not be alone in only being interested in simple pick up and play type games. I suppose the primary purpose of these round up videos is to help viewers narrow down what they want to try out, especially if time to play C64 games is scarce. Thanks for watching.

    I think the C64 is TOO retro, I would rather around NES or SNES/Genesis level graphics even when being nestolgic.

    • @RetroGamerNation
      @RetroGamerNation  Рік тому

      Interesting opinion and I am sure many others who did not grow up with the C64 would probably agree but then again its hard to look past the fact that the C64 is the most active scene when it comes to current day games, demos, music and pixel art.
