I never get tired of watching a Walnut log being opened up. Walnut doesn't rot very quick, I've sawed one that probably laid for twenty years.

Walnut would be my vote: I love seeing how the weird logs turn out. But that's not necessarily economical for you. If you need the lumber inventory, do the white oak, but I wouldn't leave that walnut for much longer than you have to.
I agree, it's interesting to see what Nathan does with the more challenging logs.

The frogs sound like spring to me . That is about two and a half or three months away for me in northern Minnesota

I switched from diesel to 100% pure D-Limonene citrus cleaner. Works really well on pine pitch, and has a terrific citrus smell... $20 for 32oz, mix ration of 5oz to 5 gal.

Walnut is my vote. I ordered some blades from Joe and they are exactly the solution that I needed for the white oak, beech, cherry, and walnut that I'm sawing.

Well, of course I would like to see the inside of that walnut.
It was actually given to me "standing dead"....it was on the ground only for a short while. Hopefully once you get past the "punky stuff" you will find something good.
A friend recommended needle oil to me last summer and I started using it then ....LT40 wide mill. Works great.
I still add a small amount of dish detergent as it helps keep the solution mixed.
Freezing is not an issue with me. Not picking much cotton around here these days, so we have a use for the needle oil.

Me too Brother ... I want to see white oak ... genuinely "quarter sawn" = this ain't no easy task - but yields the the finest grain pattern of any wood on the planet and the most "stable" > stable as in us furniture makes find it an absolute joy to work with. I'm not going to say it's easy but when you're done makin' what your makin' you know god is on your side.
Grew up in Maine, visiting cousins who had a really old saw mill. Belt driven. Love this channel as it brings back good memories! White oak is my choice.
Back when we lived in Michigan, we'd volunteer with the local conservation people and do frog census every spring. They had this cool CD that had both individual frogs and groups of frogs croaking for like 25 species. We'd listen to the CD a bunch of times every winter, then be able to identify who was in what pond come spring.
I vote that you take Sunday off & go do something fun with your family.

Walnut is always nice to see but I vote for the white oak. Watching you explain how you process the logs for optimal boards is very beneficial for us rookies.

Hey fellow sawer, I enjoy watching & learning. I have a Timber King 2000 since 2017. We purchased a cedar grove, it was about a year of hard labor, ha, but we harvested hundreds of logs & stumps too. Keep up the good work. If you ever are in north central Florida, come on over. We're north of where the big roads cross.

For my vote, I would like to see you make quick work of the black walnut and hopefully find some really good looking slabs after a couple of passes to remove the bad wood on top and bottom.

Definitely black walnut! Quarter sawn white oak looks great but nothing beats the dark rich color of black walnut especially when you raise the grain.

Really enjoyed the detail on the sawing this time. I'd love to see a video of the full process of sawing a whole log including measuring, adjusting etc. (maybe timelapsed for the actual sawing parts). We've seen different parts of the process in different videos, but I don't think we've ever seen all of it in one.
