I went to take a look at a supermarket in Shenzhen, China and this is what I found. From fruits to snacks, from ice-creams to potato chips.
Location: Carrefour Houhai, Nanshan district, Shenzhen, China

There are many taro, red bean, green bean dessert in China. I love them personally. Try more, you will like them one day. 😄
Haha well, maybe in the future. Right now I like many flavors I used to dislike 5 years ago when I arrived here. Maybe after 5 years I will love taro and green bean ice creams. Thanks for the comment

I am so glad you show the supermarket in China because that is what I don't know what to expect when I living in China. I am surprised that you don't know much about Chinese foods and ingredients. How can sweet potato looks like grapes, red beans looks like chocolate and green beans looks like lime? Yes, Chinese like sweet potatoes because that is healthy for you. In compare with American supermarket, the Chinese supermarket has so much more varieties. The variety is the key.

Muchas gracias Luis! Si, se encuentran cosas raras aquí. Aunque no tanto como para encontrar perro. No es un mito, hay ciudades donde si se consume, aunque con todo el tema del COVID, al menos en Shenzhen la carne de perro y gato está prohibida, y ya otras ciudades en China están haciendo lo propio. In chinese it's called 紫薯, which can be translated to Purple sweet potato. In the Philippines, it's called taro.

I live in NYC and would love to move to China, but I’m afraid that I might miss the tremendous mix of cultures like we have here ... events, food, languages, etc. But, I do have a strong pull towards China and am presently learning Mandarin. ☮️💚🌻✨💪🏼🙏

Do try durian but without a prejudice, it's delicious. It's much better as a compote but you won't find it as such in China.

This is simply a hilarious video to show the point of a foreigner regarding the kind of foods that you can find in a Chinese supermarket.
