I was searching through your old videos today for a cufflink purchase guide, the fact that you made the video 2 hours after, it's like you read my mind. Thanks, Antonio
+Real Men Real Style I just got a cufflink shirt for my high school choir performances and it's the style with only two holes for the link, can you wear the bullet back links on this style of cuff because it just looks so weird with all the extra metal between the two ends of the shirt or the metal sticking out the back. Also how would i wear it, it has the buttons still on it, would i wear it kissing style or overlap?
When i bught my first suit (18 yo) i immediately bought some simple and cheap cufflinks. I'm part of a volunteer organization that is big on business amd entrepeneurship, and whenever i went to meeting, conferences, etc. Most men wouldnt be wearing cuflinks, so that immediatly set me appart, even if the "face" of the cufflink was simply fabric. That cuppled with a ring i've got that really complimented the cufflink and tie, got me an outfit that really set me appart, amd people would notice me and compliment it. Now, 3 years later i'm learning through this and similar channels about pocket squares and such, about really tailoring your suit and how it should fit, buying formal shoes like derbys, buying quality leather bags instead of backpacks. Give me a year to save up and thanks to RMRS i'll be the best dressed man in all my circles and the best version of myself. THANKS A LOT
Antonio, wow watching you and visiting your website has allowed me to step up my dressing game 100% just by doing a little bit of homework and getting the right fit makes you look a whole lot better. This is my first time commenting on any of your videos, I felt compelled to comment because at this point I am distinguishing myself by the way I dress and people notice. I don't have to say anything I am 143 pounds and 5'4" so I have to be picky about the clothes I wear, watching your videos has allowed me to dress taller put together better outfits and shop smarter. Just want to thank you your hard work is appreciated. Thank you Antonio
Superb video, Antonio! I remember reading an article in the October 2014 edition of Smithsonian magazine about the CIA’s history, wherein the author covered the significance of cufflinks during the Cold War. A Soviet double agent by the name of Pyotr Popov wore gold cufflinks emobssed with the image of the Greek goddess Athena’s helmet and a small sword. His CIA contacts wore an identical pair of cufflinks. Popov was one of the most vital sources of Soviet military intel for the CIA during the ‘50s. George Kisevalter, who would become an exceptional CIA case officer, came up with the idea of using distinctive cufflinks as a recognition signal. Kisevalter gave them to Popov before he was recalled to Moscow in 1955, informing him that if he was able to renew contact with the CIA, the agency’s courier sent to meet him would wear a matching set of cufflinks. Popov was eventually assigned to Schwerin, East Germany, and resumed contact with the CIA until 1958, when he was called back to Moscow and there arrested by the KGB. Popov was exected two years later. The cufflinks, however, remain behind glass inside a CIA museum in Langley, Virginia.
I never realized what a divisive issue cufflinks were until I saw the 98 dislikes of this video. I guess you know you’re a success when you have a few dedicated haters out there. Good video thanks for taking the time to enlighten us on cufflinks.
Excellent video, thank you. I love wearing cufflinks, but always thought it was considered a fashion faux pas to wear them without a French Cuff shirt. Thanks for clearing that up. While I have some French cuff shirts, I have some very nice shirts that aren't. I will be removing the buttons from these and wearing cufflinks now. Very happy about that. Thanks again. :-)
I really gained a lot of knowledge in cufflinks and bought two French cuff shirts and two pairs of cufflinks... My mom really loved it❤️❤️❤️ My mother's happiness is my happiness.. You deserve this credit All the best we are there to support you. Love from 🇮🇳🇮🇳
I think the chain link are the most classic and elegant. They also show well on both sides of the cuff. They happen to be the most expensive type but I get around that by going to my favorite button store (7th ave NYC) and buying fancy buttons and link them together; use one small and one large one unless the buttons are oval. I always get compliments on them and queries on where I got them. TIP: Harrod's in London has the absolute best selection if you're willing to spend 100 - 200 BPS on real ones. Admittedly i have only one pair.
A couple years ago, I bought my first shirt that took cufflinks, and I've been hooked ever since. They certainly add a nice touch to a shirt, and I have noticed that they sometimes catch people's eye when conversing with others. It's hard for me to pass up a nice set of cufflinks when I find some. I'm always looking to add to my collection. It's almost comparable to a woman with her shoes.
Let me start by saying I am stunned at the quality and clarity of your videos. These have been incredibly helpful as I am slowly transitioning out of college slob sheik. One video play list I'd like to suggest for the future is hair. You have a lot of videos on facial hair, but what about a decent hair cut? Tips on balding men, how much to pay, how frequently to get a hair cut would probably be helpful to many viewers. Thanks again for the great channel.
When I saw 5:09 I realized that many of the little things that I threw away while cleaning because I did not know what they were..... Dude! Those were cuff links!!!! ROFL
I hate wearing a belt so I get all my dress shirts straight cut to wear untucked and I get them all with french cuffs so I can wear cuff links. I get compliments all the time on this minor tweak to my style. Cuff links always make a good impression.
Thanks ! I've never worn a Tux and just assumed the fancy shirt had fancy buttons. Also will have to try the "fold over" method in addition to the other one
I go thrifting for all my cufflinks I cant imagine spending alot on them I guess I'm cheap .I love your videos it has taught me alot. I never wore pocket squares now I do Thx.I take pride on looking the part of being Grown an sexy an with that I bought some suits vest an blazers sportcoats just need a tailor then I'm set Lol
Definitely to grunge for this sort of classy fashion! Found some 14 k gold diamond set cufflinks in the garbage :) haha maybe I'll be stepping up my mansomeness.
Informative video. I just saw one faux-pas at 2:32. One shouldn’t wear a watch with black tie. It doesn’t belong to the dresscode. It is considered inappropriate because it would signal that you have other things to do, whereas the event you are attending should be interestinge enough that you don’t think about other events at that moment.
If you want the ladies to notice you 3 things to do. 1 wear a well tailored suit. 2 Accessorize with a set of suspenders, rings, chain, and nice watch. 3 Wear expensive/nice cuff links. Your wearing a french cuff shirt which most do not even own but your also wearing nice jewelry like Antonio said.
Great video. The only problem I've had with some shirts is that the watch won't fit under the cuff as soon as the cufflinks are there. That being said, I've never tried "the folded way" and it might give me that extra space that I need. Thanks for the tip!
when I wear a French cuff shirt it's casual or with a suit, I have a couple light blue ones, white ones plaids and striped ones, my white ones I don't where casually they have to be worn with a suit, when I had jury duty I wore my light blue French cuff shirt with kakee pants and I had compliments from people who were attorneys saying no body your age dresses up like you, they said I look professional, they said I had great taste and that I knew how to dress, and chicks were looking up and down at me, it was awesome, you get good, positive attention guys, guys should wear them more but the guys my age are all into the skinny suits or with the weird raunchy designed dress shirts and the vest with jeans, but that's all good, everyone has their own style
Just the video I wanted. I've been trying to decide between several models of cuff-links for weeks now. You are awesome I subscribed a long time ago, but I usually don't comment, as there is nothing to critique every vidoe is awesome.
Thanks. All of my dress shirts are; French Cuff. 99% of my cufflinks are set w/ gems. ( I have >90 pairs) I make the wearing selection based on the color of the cuff. White cuff gets yellow or rose gold. Colored cuffs get White Gold or Platinum. It takes a good tailor to fit the sleeve on a suitcoat to reveal that little bit of the link so even the most expensive is not ostentatious. IMHO Cufflinks should be hidden jewels.
Hello cookingprof, more than 90 pairs? And with gems? WOW! I would love that! :)Hey, I'm Luis. You know, I also love cufflinks and I'm actually working on an idea for a business concerning cufflinks with gemstones. And since you like them so much, I would love to get your opinion on what you like the best and what you deslike the most when you are looking for a new pair. All the best,Luis
Hello Antonio, love your videos and site. Lot's of valuable information! Thank you!I'm actually working on an idea for a business concerning cufflinks with gemstones and your comments on the matter helped a lot!

Hello JK, I agree with you. Cufflinks are a must for men.Hey I'm Luis and I'm working on an idea for a business concerning cufflinks with gemstones. Since you love them so much, I would appreciate your opinion on what is it that you tend to value when your search for a new pair. All the best,Luis
i like the video! extremely well detailed. i happen to notice that you where wearing single link cuffs instead of french double cuffs. did you do them yourself? or did you buy it with the single link cuffs? if yes could you tell me from where? because i don't find single link cuffs anywhere but on white tie shirts.
Great videoand great article well done. Will u do a video on collarbars/pins and do u wear them at all? Plus whave u done a vid on braces/suspenders and do u wear them. Manu thanks keep the grear vids coming.
Dear Antonio, a most excellent video on the various types of cufflinks, many of which I had never seen before. As a result of your video, and, related infographic, I went and purchased a whole new assortment of cufflinks such as stud/button cufflinks and chain link cufflinks, the latter which are superbly elegant indeed. I also bought several styles of James Bond 007 cufflinks and James Bond 007 tie clips into the bargain. These will all seriously help me to rock my James Bond 007 image. BTW, I am your very recent connection on LinkedIn, now just having been made Professor. Toodles
Could not agree more Keith :)I'm Luis and I'm actually working on an idea for a business concerning cufflinks. I would love to get your opinion on classic cufflinks colored with gemstones and/or enamel.
hi.great work.can you please give a guide to where the sleeves should finish.i get my shirts tailored and they look good when my arms hang but too short when I bend my arm to drink.is there a rule for a good balance.thanks
Hello SoCalGamer, and what type of cufflinks do you like best or tend to wear? Classic, funny, with gemstones? Honestly in my coutry I tend to strugle to find something other than plain metal cufflinks. How about you?
Antonio I love your videos however like others have said I work in retail where my dress code is jeans with no tears and a darker wash and no skinny jeans I. your article it said there isn't much of a limit to what your wear them with like I said I work retail and jeans and a collored shirt is my only limit how do you suggest to wear cufflinks in with jeans and a dress shirt without looking over dressed or should this style guide not apply.
Great video, Mr. Centeno. Even though I'm familiar with cufflinks, I still learned some new things. On a side note; I noticed that you're wearing an undershirt which means that it's a little bit visible when you have two of the buttons on your shirt open. From your point of view, does it matter if the undershirt is visible when wearing a shirt in a casual manner? I ask this because you're friend, Aaron Marino, has mentioned several times that when wearing a shirt unbuttoned, the undershirt should never be visible. Because you know each other, you are familiar with his style and perhaps rationale. Given that, what's your take on the subject? I know it may be somewhat trivial but I sometimes want to unbutton the second button but hesitate to do so because of what Mr. Marion has stated. Thank you.
This channel is surprisingly helpful, I came across this video because I wanted to know if I could wear cufflinks folded instead of kissing, because I'm going to a formal event soon, and I want to be looking sharp, but not stand out too much, as the people I'm going with really don't seem like they care for suits, and would most likely find cufflinks to be very strange
+Real Men Real Style After watching some of your other videos (which I really liked), I think you should do more videos explaining to the average Joe what to do and what not to do when it comes to high fashion, because let's face it, most people ride the shirt and jeans their whole life and just don't know what to do with something more formal
Hey man, I have a white shirt with mother of pearl square buttons, and I wanted to know if it was okay to wear gold and brown cufflinks. I would be wearing a dark navy blue striped wool suit and brown booties. Would the brown cufflink look bad with mother of pearl white buttons?
I only own French cuffed shirts. I don't like the barrel cuffs. And I love me some nice pair of cufflinks. The problem with French cuffs is that I can not wear them more casually with a crew shirt for instance.
So I am looking for that extra casual look. I have a pair of grey slacks and a black t-shirt. Will a navy blue sports coat or blazer go with that black t-shirt? Should I wear a white t-shirt instead?
Abraham Rosenfeld the navy sports coat should work with a polo shirt :) the polo should be in light colors with white and light blue looking the best. Read more here: www.realmenrealstyle.com/navy-blazer-matching/
Hello,i have been scouring the whole internet and cant find anything on my question...I have a wedding to attent and i plan to wear my new 3 piece suit BUT it is in the summer and i was wondering in case the weather is super hot could i leave my suit jacket and just be with my vest when i am wearing my cufflings? Thanks a lot in advance
I would like overlap cuffs bcoz my shirts always come with two cuff buttons I can remove one and use cufflinks and whenever I want to use buttons I always have an option..
Lapiz Lazuli... I guess now we know how you got so smart. :p (It's an intellect stone, or spiritual stone. Supposed to be good for students. If you believe in crystal meanings, of course.)

Wearing french cuff shirts with links is mighty fun. I usually wear simple silk knots to work, but if going out, I put links in.

I love wearing cufflinks. I have 32 pair. I usually don't spend more than about $30. And I'm glad most men don't wear them. Most men don't even think about a french cuff shirt because they cost a little more. It's like having a high shine on your dress shoes. It takes some work and care. Both will make you stand out from the crowed with out yelling. lol

I learned about lapis lazuli from reading George R.R. Martins "A Song of Ice and Fire" books, haha. Seems he mentions it every other chapter.
Rolling up your shirt sleeve is commonly stated as a good idea. But how do you roll up a French Cuff?
Great work Real men real style
Nice. I collect cufflinks among others like watches. A must accessory for men.

Antonio, ould one simply unpick there buttons on their cuffs and replace them with cufflinks? is this acceptable?
You are putting on a jacket do you put the cufflinks on first or put on the jacket and then the cuff links? My Cufflings get caught in the jacket.
Hi Antonio: This is a good video. There are lots of different cufflinks. The important thing is that we wear them.
Keith McKee I agree - just start to wear them!
Could not agree more Keith :)I'm Luis and I'm actually working on an idea for a business concerning cufflinks. I would love to get your opinion on classic cufflinks colored with gemstones and/or enamel.
I have some cufflinks made out of silver, and i have prom in a couple of weeks so i will wear them !

Hello SoCalGamer, and what type of cufflinks do you like best or tend to wear? Classic, funny, with gemstones? Honestly in my coutry I tend to strugle to find something other than plain metal cufflinks. How about you?
Luis Cruz I've been using the S.T. Dupont Diamond cufflinks. They're pricy but the only reason I have them is because I got them for my birthday
Antonio, what do you think about cuff button covers?
How much of the french cuff should be showing if you're wearing a coat/blazer/jacket over your shirt?
Hi Antonio, just wandering do you have a guide to wearing watches?
Noah Williams great to hear from you - here you go: www.realmenrealstyle.com/luxury-watches/
I really like the first cufflink with the three hexagons. Can you direct me to them?
Lapislazuli is also mined in Chile
+Felipe Portales cool!
My friend is in the royal marines.he got a pair made for him out of 2 x 50 calibre shell casings he fired in afghanistan
That's amazing
How about a video where you show us how to wear them on shirts that you have on right now that is not a French cuff shirt that would be great
Great video, Mr.
Thank you.
Ermac97 I did that just to drive i am alpha m. crazy! :)
+Ermac97 When wearing shirts, I always wear an undershirt with a low cut v-neck. No exception.
+Jorge Daniel Great to hear that Jorge - what else do you want to see from my channel?
***** yes!
Can you, or should even have your shirts altered so you can use cufflinks with them?
What about wearing a watch appropriate to age/job ??
spy2k7 good video suggestion - added it to my database :)
When he talked about the lapis lazuli stone, it made me think of Steven Universe :-)

I need to get me one of those neon blue Raptor Cufflinks!
Neyo Brooks Agreed!
Hi Antonio, love all the fashion tips.
I have a birthday coming in 2 weeks, have you ever sneezed in a vid?
D Francis A few times - but I do it with style so you might not notice :)
Interesting, would you mind sneezing in a future vid?
Should I wear double cuffs shirt with cufflinks and the vest (no jacket suit)?

(It's an intellect stone, or spiritual stone. Supposed to be good for students. If you believe in crystal meanings, of course.)
