What!?!!! You drew the graphics!!!?? I fell in love with this shape and intention and then the graphic was a HUGE positive! It is beautiful! As a PNW surf skater, forager, and forest lover I have to get this deck!
Thanks to you Mark for being an inspiring rider that contributes to the evolution of the surfskate scene, I’m deeply grateful for your support. Our exchanges and conversation are enlightening to me. Thank you
Thank you, I’m stoked that you like my design and took a moment to express it 🤗 I’m also a big fan of rocker nose and tail, and concave is a must for me too!
Sophie best of luck, hope to see your business grow to a point that I can see your deck at an affordable price in Spain. As an advice, in the description of your YT channel you can add links, there you can link directly to your website and other social media. If you had the time I recommend you try that to make yourself easier to find. Trigger has a deck also named whale shark and that doesn't help your SEO as you get strong competition for the name (same with omen), and yours may not show up as easily on Google (luckily the videos Collab you did help and those do show up first!) Once again, best of luck and thanks for being innovation, wish I could support you buying one. In few months when I need to change my current deck will be 😉
Ohh thank you so much ! I’m pretty new to UA-cam and I don’t totally get it yet, as you can see 🙈 Thanks a lot for your suggestions, it’s very helpful, I will try to upgrade my profil. I wasn’t aware there is another Whaleshark deck 😰 which brand is that? Don’t hesitate to contact me directly if you’d like to chat, it seems like we’d have few things to talk about :) hello@whitetailsk8.com
These are rad decks. Please consider producing some vert ramp decks in the 9-10 wide range and 15-16 wb. There's a vert revival and most vert skaters I talk to want a wider deck than their current 8.5- 8.7 popsicle. Offering a custom wb or some kind of drilling jig might all the use of your 17 wb model, but dang it's pricey, sister!
Beautiful board, good fit for CX or C7 or trucks of that size. Wheel base seems right on. Nice concave and graphics. Just curious, will you continue to create different models and if so any plans for one with a smaller nose? Thank you and keep up the great work 🤙
Thank you for your kind feedbacks Ernie! Yes, I’m working on a baby brother for the Whaleshark, it’s the TigerShark. It’s going to be 2 inches shorter. I just posted a test drive of it at the pump track. I also sent one to Shane Lai and he made an awesome review video of it
OOOOF I just bought a deck and I waaas happy with it..... until i saw this!! What a beautiful board!! I wish you nothing but the best! Getting this in Shane and Mark's hands was a very good idea! Them bois looked STOKED. I guess I'll have to miss the promotion in the name of not angering my wife, but THIS is my next deck FO SHO!!
Hahah thank you Mark for your appreciation of my Whaleshark, it goes straight to my heart! It’s indeed better to keep a good relationship with your wife first :) Don’t hesitate to contact me when you’ll be ready to adopt a Whaleshark, I might be able to hook you up with a discount 🥰
I got your order Sophie, thank you si much ! I hope it will exceed your expectations, and I can’t wait to see you shred it, you got a beautiful style !
Hi Connor, I’m sorry for the late reply, I just got the final TigerSharks so I could finally compare their weight. So the Whaleshark is 1.55kg while the TigerShark is 1.57kg. The TigerShark’s shorter but wider at foot placement so there’s a little extra surface on the TS, hence de 0.02 kg difference. They are both built with Hard Rock Canadian Maple which is a very high quality dense wood who tends to be heavier than cheaper wood. I hope that helps :) and thanks for your patience
Really nice. Reminds me of my Soulboardiy if you are familiar. Apparently the Bentley of Surfskate but with torsional flex. Less concave and nose. Top quality doesn’t comes much bette. I don’t skate it ass much. I’m skating more vertical bowl stuff and the flex troughs me off a little. But for flat ground carving just perfect with carver CX C7 or YOW. I ended up with a smoothstar truck the most stability vs turns in a bowl . I think you could be inspired to try it out for your next project. So do you want to swap the Adam I have for whale 🐳. Mint condition, just one small small dent. That some fin sandpaper will make a thing of the past. I think your board is sick. Like that you made it 9.75 and not 10-10.5 in length. Really nice to see someone making something beyond the norm. Most boards will be flat, maybe a tail but no nose. People go crazy when you say you surfskate a 8.5 popsicle with 56mm 99a wheels. Your board is like a skateboard on steroid’s. Let me know don’t be shy give it a try.
Thanks for the feedback Rex, it’s really appreciated. Your board seems nice, thank you for the offer. Right now I’m just addicted to the Whaleshark and the new prototype I’m working on. Honestly each other board I step in nowadays feels a little sad aha! I designed the Whaleshark and the new model I’m working on to fit exactly my specs and style so it fits me like a glove. It would be hard to compete with that. Enjoy your amazing board, I’d be down to try it if we ever meet for a skate sesh! I’ll lend you mine 🤗 Thanks again Rex for your input, it’s really appreciated
You should probably make a shorter model and try maximizing the wheelbase length. LandYacht Ditch life is a interesting deck but in my opinion making it 32.3 to 32.5, by that, meaning take it out of the cruiser range and give it a more useable nose. I would had bought the whale 🐳 but shipping cost is almost the same. I ordered a Heroin curb killer 2. A special model 32.6 -10.0 and with a wheelbase of 14.6. I’m hoping that I can make the wheelbase closer to 15.5 -16.0. Should work the deck is almost a symmetrical egg 🥚 shape. About the shipping. Hopefully your business will grow to a size where you could get more mainstream. You should try this Dutch online skate shop called sickboard they are very chilled, you know you can smoke a joint there without get in trouble. They have a lot of high quality overseas stuf from U.S Canada etc. You wana they have it. I skate with you any day.
Uau, it looks great, I'm impressed! Also the design is gorgeous! I've just bought a carver us booster 30''75 wheelbase 16 and as soon as I got a surfskate lesson, the coach told me it was too short and that I should move to a longer board and longer wb. Can I ask what trucks and wheels are you using ?They look as a C7 Definetely I'm gonna buy one as soon as I get to visit my nephews in Ottawa next year! 😁 Great job, Paolo (Trento, Italy)
Hi Paolo! Thank you very for your kind words, that’s very sweet of you. I’ve been trying different trucks systeme on my Whalesharks and the one I use the most is the Waterborne + RKP Bear trucks, but I also really enjoy the Meraki. It’s a nice fit with Slide and Carver as well. Do you have a favorite surfskate truck? Or one that you’d like me to try and see the fit?
@@whitetailskateboards Hi, thanks for yr reply, I usually ride with Carver CX or "Carver-CX-like" systems. I use 70/75 mm wheels, even though I've just started to use smaller wheels (65mm) for skateparks. Thanks, paolo
Oh that’s great! CX are a classic, very nice design. Recently I started using Grasp, which are similar to CX but feels so much better for me. More lean, smoother, super easy to pump and the kingpin is protected in case of grinds I bet you’d like them! How do you like smaller wheels? I use to ride 70 too, and when I got down to 63 or 65, it was a game changer in terms of speed and slide. Looking forward hearing from you and thanks again for your comment
@@whitetailskateboards Hi, thanks for your reply. I'm going to give a look at those Grasp trucks. As regards the wheels, I have recently moved to smaller wheels 65 mm 32 mm contact patch 78A made by Algal Board here in Italy. Yes as you said, that was a game changer in the skate park. I would also like to try those Carver Roundhouse wheels for Park 58 mm 95A even though I think they may be a bit too hard ...for my knees. Some of my friends use the G-Bones by Powell Peralta 64mm 97A for surfing on the wood wave and though I've never tried them, I think my knees would complain! Those Carver 64mm may be something to give a try, but they're sold out in every shop here in italy. CiaoooOOO!
Hi from New Zealand! I'm really digging this deck! I think it sounds pretty near perfect for aggressive surfskating in the park/bowl! Deep concave, Nicely shaped tail, big functional nose. Looks like enough of a platform for the feet but I'd like to see it a tiny bit wider in those places and the WB extended by a cm or so. I'm 6'3". Might be my next purchase all the same! Well done. The artwork is beautiful too!

Yes!! I drew them all, I’m a nature’s lover, my daily walks in the mountains are such an inspiration
This is the surfskate deck that I've been waiting for since I started! Thank you for creating it!

Beautiful deck!!! Looking forward to receiving it and try it out before it starts snowing...lol
It will arrive before the snow, don't worry :) If everything goes as planned, it will be on it's way tomorrow!

hows the cx work with this deck
Hi DJ Anthony! The fit with CX is amazing!
Lots of Whaleshark riders use the CX, especially in bowls and parks. Great for cruising and pumping too.
