Life saver you’re the only person who teaches it better than khan academy and also my teacher I just had a quiz and I didn’t do good on it so I’m watching theese videos at 9pm
Hi Eric, Wondering about minute 4:19 you state that you multiply the rate by 90. The rate you calculated was .066 repeating, but the rate you multiplied by 90 was .66 repeating. Did I miss a step in there? Thanks! This video is great.
Not a whole lot. I think the biggest difference is that a constant of proportionality is not constrained to being written as a ratio with a 1 in the denominator.
Two questions: 1)does exist an inverse constant of proportionality? 2) I saw this in two distints sites: inverse constant of proportionality --->k=y*x constant of proportionality ----> k=x/y Other site was explaining constant of proportionality in graphics. But, they switched inverse constant (k=y*x, in that site was y=k/x) for constant proportionality(k=x/y, in that site was y=k*x) i got really confuse can you explain me ?
Unfortunately you have an error in the walking per minute question. The numbers you show are .66...x 90 which is not 6. It should have said .066... x 90 = 6
@@EricBuffington hello i have a problem that looks like this y=⅘x and is asking for the constant of proportionality and i don’t know how to solve it pls help
Thank you soo much for this video I am from Nepal and I was freaked out cause couldn't understand properly from our book and this was really really helpful. Again thank you very much.

Tbh, this Video was much more helpful rather than what my Math teacher teaches us, great Vid by the way:)
Glad you liked it!
Question don’t know if you will answer but is the constant of proportionality basically the unit rate? Just a bit confused
Yes, you are right. It's also, in many cases, the slope of a line if you graph it. :)
Thank you so much, i really didnt understand, then i watched this video and now its so easy. THANK YOU SO MUCH!
You're welcome!
Great explanatation
Thanks!

Thank you for helping me understand proportionality! 😀

That is true! At 4:01 it should read 0.066... not 0.66... Good catch.

@@EricBuffington you did!
I found it less confusing to use the constant of 1.5 or 15 for the miles you rounded .66
Soooo, can’t I just do k=y/x. K = 30/2 = 15. I walk 1 mile in 15 minutes. Can’t. I figure out the minutes per mile?
Very helpful

Am I the only one that learns more from UA-cam than from teachers online?
