Great vid as always. Neat how the system is able to produce the proper walk-test audible coding for the smartsync and non-smartsync signals. That horn at 3:41 sounds rather ill though...
Have you ever worked with a silent knight panel in your job since I've seen a lot of different panels and/or systems that are not simplex id love to see a silent knight panel
CoolSimasGuy - GTA 5 | Emergency Responses | Bloons TD Battles & More It depends on the model. STI makes one model without horns for gyms etc. like as seen at 0:42 and they are just to probably protect the station from impacts in buildings where ones with sounders aren't necessary because there isn't many (if any) risk of false alarms or false alarms.
CoolSimasGuy - GTA 5 | Emergency Responses | Bloons TD Battles & More Yeah, and in stoppers with the siren built in it there's a switch that turns the siren off and on, it's a possibility that the switch could be turned off.
Little Sim 96 Thanks for viewing! To answer your question, it's all a matter of applying at the right place at the right time in addition to training and obtaining your national certs & state FA license.
In most of your videos the stopper covers don't have horns on. Is this usually cause the schools never replace the battery? Or are hornless models that common?
Walk test it's a feature that allows testers to go around the building without having to reset the panel and after something is activated the panel self resets
I'm guessing the place originally had a Simplex 4002 system or something, judging by the early 90s Simplex horn/strobes seen in a few parts. Then when it was added onto over time, the 4002 was replaced with a 4010.
If you look at the red next panel next to the 4010, you will see that it is a Standard Electric Time 7000 panel from the late 1970's. That was probably the original system to the building. You can see the label on the panel at 13:21 when he is walking in the room.
Looks like it. And then in the early 1990s, they replaced the Standard system with a Simplex 4002 system or something, going by the 4903+9838 horn/strobes and 4251-20 pulls. (The 4903+9838 combo was very popular on Simplex systems in the early 1990s, and they were still clearing out old stock of the 4251-style T-bar pulls after the "new-style" 2099 T-bar pulls came out in 1991.)
tshirtjay no it just happens to be the coding the panel is set to. Because he turned off the walk test feature, the panel is reset to its regular state without walk test enabled
SAFETECH ok thanks! By the way, my High school is maintained by Tyco (the system is Siemens, it sucks. It originally had a Simplex and for some reason they didn't do a 4100es or 4100u, they did Siemens😒)
stampycatfan01 Depends on the system. There's different limits all depending on the type of setting/ application. You would need to refer to the data sheets & user manuals. They can be found online in most cases.
TrainBrain107 I only have 7 types of fire alarms at my school, Wheelock NS, Wheelock RSS, MT horn, Bells of 2 unknown brands, BG-12, That is all the different types
#annoyingstopper. I love old simplex stuff. I own 2 4251-20s a 2099-9754 a 2903-9101+2901-9833 and a 4903-9101+2901-9838. I also have a 2099-9905 and a 2099-9139 and a 4251-111 chevron. I have more stuff that is in my collection that isn't Simplex
I love the mix of alarms!
the alarm at 11:17 that skips, sounds like the quick alerts at my old elementary school.
11:21 is there a weatherproof truealert in that area because something sounds different
Brobinson most likely a quick alert.
Great vid as always. Neat how the system is able to produce the proper walk-test audible coding for the smartsync and non-smartsync signals. That horn at 3:41 sounds rather ill though...
weatherdan882002
Thanks for viewing. Yea I was thinking the same...
weatherdan882002 at the middle school I went to we had a simplex 2001 and most of the horns sounded like that and I loved it.
I have those in my school and 4251 20 and 2099 9756s
Loving the ages of simplex!❤️😀👍👍

1 fire alarm horn will keep sounded when walk test
Those pull station covers were really loud lol!

How come some Stoppers trigger the siren and some don't? BTW that's a lot of different simplex devices.

firefreak57 I see your point
What firefreak said is correct, also the sounders tend to go bad after some time. It is however not deficient if they fail to sound.
Ahh, makes a lot of sense now

7:24 why are there alarms on the pull stations its not needed
oh that makes sense now :)
I love a good 9838 but if it sounds dying it needs to be replaced
How many notification devices are there? In that building?
Great video! And how do you work at a Fire Alarm Company like making and testing Fire Alarms?

Nice video!😊 would like to see more like this!
Why were the Truealert strobes flashing so fast?
trainerred206
System is in walk-test
SAFETECH I figured that might have had something to do with that.
In most of your videos the stopper covers don't have horns on. Is this usually cause the schools never replace the battery? Or are hornless models that common?
There are models without.
well how come it will only sound one round at each pull, instead of constantly until you reset the panel? is the system broken?
That feature is called Walk Test
Walk test it's a feature that allows testers to go around the building without having to reset the panel and after something is activated the panel self resets
Neat! You should bring a can of compressed air to clean out some of these alarms. Cool setup of alarms in the building(s).
Dave you don’t have to put (s)
@@IEatMicrowaves thanks.

I want a 2901-9838, a 4251-20, and a Simplex 4004.
Same but you going have to get it your self
Yea you can find them on ebay
Been watching your videos for years. Good stuff man. I take it at the end you set it to continuous just for the fun of it? Lol
tshirtjay no it just happens to be the coding the panel is set to. Because he turned off the walk test feature, the panel is reset to its regular state without walk test enabled
@@SouthernIndianaRailfan Ah gotcha. Im not an expert on the technical side of these tests.
Question: is it illegal to hit the TEST button on emergency lights and exit signs in public?
Evan Bartholomew
I wouldn't advise on doing that. If something goes wrong you could be liable.
SAFETECH ok thanks!

Evan- Bart410 no, but you should ask.
Is there a certain way to reset the pull station cover siren? Or is it as simple as just closing it back up after it’s been “tampered with”?
yeah you just close it
nice video!

How many annunciators can a Simplex addressable system have at most?

Oh gosh... the alarms in continuous at the end was the sound of terror when I was a child!

AnythingKid123
Yes they are very annoying but often serve a good purpose.
@@safetech I agree at my school I have those stoppers with those horns
who thought at the beginning that buzzing noise was a sick 9838 horn
cool nice. Fun fire alarm
wow that test was good some of the stopper horns worked and the others didn't i think they didnt know the battery need to be replace
Thanks for another great video!!!

Thanks for viewing. And yes, it's actually placed at the entrance to the principals office.
Those stoppers are the most annoying thing ever
Especially when they have that annoying alarm on them.
I agree

SAFETECH your welcome what's your favorite alarm?
I don’t know why it goes into trouble for a walk test I mean it’s just a walk test what the hell *me acting like ClayRanger143*
because the panel drops a couple volts when walktest is enabled.
Pull it
