I have insurance thru Square Trade so filed a claim. Then I found your video. Thought it was worth a try-nothing to lose. Unplugged battery-waited-plugged back in-attached charging cord-nothing. Thought "oh well, it was worth a shot". Watched video again and noticed you hit the power button after plugging in the power cord. Tried that and sure enough the battery icon came up showing it was charging. After giving it a little time to charge tried turning it on - it booted up just fine. Everything working just fine. Contacted Square Trade and cancelled the claim. Thank you very much for your video. It really worked. :-)

This really works! WORTH TRYING. Easy job, only open the cover and plug off the battery for a while. On both ends if necessary! No bullshit here.

It worked for me aswell although I had to charge the battery with external charger to reach atleast 3.8V, it was around 3.0V when I opened it. I recieved the tablet today, owner suspected that MBO went bad but thanks to this video and few other articles I'll have some nice news to bring
Might be useful if you'd actually shown how to disconnect the battery. It's not as simple as waving your finger over it.
Ahhh, bottom half of connector lifts off you pry it up at the corner. So simple, why didn't you do it in the video?

Do you have to lift it by prying it up or just pull without lifting it? The motion isn't obvious and the video fails to explain this.
Aaah, figured out. You have to pry it up at the shorter end (sides) on both sides and it disconnects.

None of the videos showing how to do this actually show how to do it clearly with this model of Memo Pad 7. Even this one doesn't show. Some tutorial!
Here is how you do it. Once you pry the back off your phone, find the connector and lift up on the bottom half of the connector from the site (the side closest to the battery). There are two small square black "buttons" on either side of the connector. You can pry up on the side of either of these. There is no sliding out, only prying up and off. Some videos have it where you push the connector and slide it out. This one only lifts off, so don't try to slide it out.

This is what worked for me,take back off unplug battery,plug in charger then press and hold power button, while holding button reconnect battery.
should see screen switch on then release power button .

Hello, I have tried it but there is no screen display, it just vibrates so what do I do?
I would have liked more detail on how to get the connector loose without causing damage. That seems like the key thing, but both videos I've seen gloss over that part.
I just used my fingernail under the bottom corner and gently lifted then went to other bottom corner and lifted there - just enough to disengage. After counting to 20 I gently pushed down to lock it back into place. Hope this helps. It worked for my tablet.

Good Job. Now what of a situation whereby the Padfone battery is removed and re-connected as you've shown, but the problem persists? Any solution?
This didn't work for me. I disconnected and reconnected the battery, but my tablet won't turn on. It just lights up (with a black lit up screen) and then goes off again. I did seem to stay on (as a black screen) for a good minute after I tried disconnecting the battery. I've tried charging it and holding the power button and volume buttons, any ideas?

While battery is disconnected connect tablet on charger and try to turn on. The backlight start flashing. Unplug charger, push power button again to discharge capacitors. Connect battery back, connect charger and try to power on tablet.

@@bencesimonics5365 In this case i would try to use quick charger which is able to deliver 5V and also 9V in step where battery is disconnected..... I can not exactly remember if i used this one during my procedure. But it is worth to try. And for second... try to measure battery voltage... if the battery was left untouched for the long time then she could be completely dead.... mine had 30% when tablet went up after approx. 2yrs. I hope that it will help somehow... Good luck.

Mine Wont open it doesn't let me open it. HELP I'VE HAD MY TABLET LIKE THIS FOR ABOUT 4 MONTHS.
This is only a battery reset, it wouldn't work if your tablet has a catastrophic failure, fyi uncliping the battery contact is simple, just use a small thin tool like a screwdriver to flick it up it wont pull backwards!

This is stupid. I did this without being an expert a long time ago, but it is only a temporary solution. The problem is probably simply that the battery is broken and needs to be replaced. The problem is probably not in the battery itself, but a small board built into it.

My memo Pad charge only to 3.5V after that IT discharge to about 2.9V. i charged battery outside memo Pad to 4.2 V but it didnt help at all. Still dead. If someone know the fix just let me know please

You should have explained the mechanism for disconnecting the battery. Also no background music but explain what you are doing. Useless video.
To bad you don't show how to actually disconnect the battery..not in this video and not in your other disassembly video. I have no idea what you mean by connector pull up. I have to give this a thumbs down because it's a useless video.
Buddy. You can use maybe a very small screwdriver or anything that is small. What you do is underneath those wires? You carefully push the screwdriver in. Those wires together with the black square connector will slowly comeout. Then just put it back in after 10 seconds like in the video

it not working for me .. dam i disconnected the battery for like 10min and i still wont charge or open and i dont see any icon of a battery in red or charging . if anyone got a idea
After you reconnected the battery and plugged in the charging cord, did you press the power button? The first time I watched the video I didn't notice he pushed the power button. With mine it took a few minutes before the battery icon showed up. I was cleaning off the screen before packaging it up to send to Square Trade when I saw the icon come on. Mine is working fine now. Hope this helps.
