What happened with the grip? Is that just a quality control issue?
@@lokidecat we were in a bit of a rush to get the clubs off to Pete - regrettably this led to the grip not going on straight!

If you can figure out if sure fit adapter works with it or another fitter's adapter works that might be a worthwhile upcharge option. 10.5 loft is a tad high albeit appropriate for the target demographic

I treated myself to a full set of these clubs 3 months ago and absolutely love them, started as a 28 handicap and now down to 20 and posted my lowest ever score of 86 a couple of weeks ago. I love these clubs and would highly recommend them 👍🏻

I love the all blackout look of the clubs.
I may start showcasing the brands on our golf app instead of the big brands. I game Sub 70 equipment and love it. I have often found that the smaller D2C brands bring more value and would attract more people to the game. Kudos to Caley for producing quality equipment and a great price and kudos to Peter for showcasing them in a video. Cheers.

Can you do a video on alignment? I have an issue with the longer clubs specifically when a tee box isn't in perfect line with the fairway I can never get myself comfortable and typically push it to the right. I don't know if I am messing myself up with the tee markers or what.
Pete did one on alignment - watch until the end. Very funny 😉😄
I'm not Pete but here's a tip. Stand behind the ball, choose an intermediate target between ball and flag. Approach the ball from the side and here's the tip, position the club behind the ball with your eyes OVER the ball, then ROTATE your head between flag, mid target and ball, DON'T LIFT the head, rotate. When you're confident in your alignment take a step back, grip it and RIP it. Works about 25% of the time 👌
I DM’d you a while ago about these after reading several reviews. I’ve actually tried the irons now and they’re great! I’m now considering adding the set to my bag. Keep up the good work 👍🏻

That was ‘FORE!’ with authority! Well done! The clubs are interesting. While they woods are not adjustable, they certainly seemed to deliver. And I loved the look of the irons and they seemed reasonably solid and consistent. Nice job, Pete!

I have the wedges. I have never been brilliant from under 100 yards but ok around the green. Since having these I feel 100% better from under 100 yards and okish around green. Happy with them and may swap my ping Driver and 3 wood for Calley as the review seemed brilliant!
I asked Rick, back when they where called 'old Tom' to review them, always thought they looked decent for the cost. Obviously had a name change but I'm immensely proud you've reviewed them Peter. You're some man.
Fun fact; the jolly yellow flag on Grog is the only yellow flag out of the 54 holes at Carnoustie. It should be white like the rest of the front nine but the background from the tee is the white hotel so it had to be changed to a different colour.
Hitting the green downwind on Grog is a very very good shot. We won't mention your tee shot on 5.....
I became a bigger fan of yours after watching the Rick/Guy podcast. First class mate and I applaud how well you handled that. Keep on keeping on and don’t change a thing. We love your vids as they are. Guy is wrong about that. Don’t let that sh!t get in your head…. You were/are already on the right track so just stay there.

@@therealjaypowell feels a bit like Guy took over that podcast trying to redeem himself or make amends for the previous week but just kept digging a deeper hole for himself. Rick was cutting in to balance things. Agreed, Pete handled himself very well when at times he could have risen to some of what Guy was saying.

The Burnside is a great course! Caley are a rebrand of a company called "old Tom" and they have had great reviews! Great content and a brilliant evenings golf!

That apocalyptic scream of "FORE!!" followed by "nowhere near them" had me rolling. Love it.
I absolutely love matte colored golf clubs/balls/accessories. If they hold up well and the finish keeps it’s factory color, I wouldn’t hesitate.
I upgraded my Penfold Classic Oversize irons to a set of RAM EZ3s at Christmas. They're alloy and probably not going to last a very long time, so i'm considering getting a better set at some point. I saw some advertising for these, so i'm glad to see you review them! Caley have a summer sale on, so I could get the 5-PW silver irons for £299. Still a lot of money and far more expensive than my RAMs though, so i'm very undecided whether it would make a big enough change right now. Might just wait till next year as long as they last. :) Thanks again!

Having bought premium irons in the past I took a risk on these earlier this year. They no doubt out perform their price point for me. Really pleased I took the gamble and bought a set

that was me behind peter lmao, i was late down, my mate phoned to say some youtuber was about to tee off, being a subscriber i recognized who it was on the 3rd.....was actually giddy lol. glad he thought the burside was a challange, made me feel better about my weekly struggle 👍😂🏴⛳
If Caley clubs are inspired by December in Scotland, then it's a perfect representation. Scottish Gaelic for December is 'An Dubhlachd' or roughly translated, 'The Blackness'.

I own the nicest clubs of my life because you introduced me to the used club market.
My 1st set was some Wilsons from about 1963 (near as I could figure). I then got a new set of Ping knockoffs in about 1992.
I didn't play for almost 20 years and now I'm hitting some 15-ish year old TaylorMades that I absolutely love, even as my body refuses to let me be any good at golf, again.
You inspired me to play and to get improvement irons to make it fun.

Good review, I own a set of Caley irons and woods and concur with everything you’ve said. Bang for buck as good as anything out there, and they look better than most as well.
Actually they might well do me .... Shocked.... (well apart from the putter and wedges - i like mine).
Glad you played the Burnside, I have a season ticket and consider the Burnside harder than the Championship course (a mini version of the Championship course and defiantly tighter), plus the 17th IMHO is the best hole on all 3 courses at Carnoustie.

Interesting point about the Putter Grip, I had to have my Scotty Cameron grip straightened and in the Pro Shop it seemed evident that many of the grips on nearly all the brands were, less than perfect.
@@dr6124 It was second hand but it wasn't an Internet Fake. The putters in our Pro-Shop also had the same misalignment and they were "On the Shelf"

Check out Greenwood Putters. Saw one in the wild a few days ago for the first time and was amazed to see a modern WOODEN putter
I play the caley irons and wedges and I have to agree the offset is something that's really the only downside along with the grips but they are easily changed .... May give the driver a go as the hybrid is an amazing wee club
great video,Tried to buy a set few months ago,no stock ,Ended up with used Callaway Xr. Shame really wanted these.
I would say the wedges were pretty even with the higher launch and and better decent angle of the caley, they didnt need the high spin rate that the taylormade needed because of the lower launch and decent.

Swilken Alta were my first clubs.....I've still got them.....a true Scottish club from St Andrews.
Actually considered the iron set of these at the start of the season before I opted for a different set. I’ve heard great things from several people but I was afraid the black finish would be ruined after a few rounds and wasn’t really keen on the look of the silver ones. Either way, great review Pete!

I'm noticing a theme with all these straight to consumer irons. These Calley along with sub 70 699 and Haywood signature irons are all the exact same in terms of looks and shape. Are they all using the same mold.
Agreed, I have the Haywood and they look identical.
It reminds me of the Taylormade burner supersteel. Including the rifle shaft

Driver, 3 Wood, 4-pw, 3 wedges and a putter is gonna set you back a grand though. Appreciate that's reasonable if you want brand new but with £1000 to spend you could put together an incredible second hand set for any level of golfer. The clubs look great, especially the irons being hollow head but I just don't see where they are going to sit in the market when you consider the callaway starter sets for example you can pick up for nearly half the cost.

So these, or the Inesis 500?! Just irons, I'm having trouble deciding what to get, torn between these or going for slightly older clubs from the established brands for similar prices (Wilson D7, Callaway Rogue, TaylorMade M6 etc)
