People say look at who he’s doing it against? He’s surrounded by some three stars and mostly no stars. They go in to autzen and he’s the team. Reading the entire Oregon defense. Then when it’s poor boise against other poor teams he’s a man amongst boys. Sold for me
Are fools really saying that? They clearly haven’t actually watched. 1, he’s played Oregon who at the time was considered a top 10 defense. And 2, the way he’s breaking tackles proves it has nothing to do with the talent around him. Most of his long touchdown runs have been entirely due to his own ability to refuse to go down, it’s a nearly unparalleled skill for him right now, NFL backs included. Idk why but I keep thinking of Tomlinson whenever I watch and ponder his ability. Partly Due to what you said, about how playing for a smaller school actually means he is likely surrounded by less talented, or at least heralded, players . But also, just the energy about him reminds me of LDT. He also can do it ALL like LDT. He was a slot his junior year of HS! He’s got elite jukes, vision, power, 4.4 speed!? And he’s just a natural instinctive runner. Born to be aRB
To be fair to the other players on the team, 75% or more of the players that Boise State gets commitments from are 3 star players. In saying that, Jeanty clearly outclasses the talent around him so your point still stands.
Yeah, this is what sticks out to me. His balance and "pinball" style to break all kinds of tackles. He's listed at 5'9 215lbs, but he looks more stout and compact, as if guys can't get their arms around him.
I never played organized football growing up so never been involved in practicing these plays but watching ppl break down game footage is so interesting to watch how everything unfolds and the reactions to it
You’re not lying great video by the way and I get sick and tired of people saying “look at his schedule” 🤦🏽 but you’re correct he’ll definitely succeeded at the next level!
Washington State and UNLV are very good teams. Oregon is elite. His worst game was against the weakest opponent. The schedule argument against him doesn't hold any water.
All you have to answer back to those people is "he did it against Oregon he did it last year against UW who was the 2nd best team in the nation" He has done it against two top ten teams in consecutive years. If thats not consistency and a test of competition then what is?
@@jefftezos Agreed, and he played less than 2 quarters vs. Portland State with something like 6 carries. If he was padding his stats against the worst teams he could have gone for 500 and 5 tds in that game.
Before I ever seen his highlights I saw his stats and said it can’t just be his o-line and sure enough I’m seeing an Adrian Peterson caliber back that can basically do it all.
I think comparing him to Barry Sanders is a good comparison. Short but powerful with speed. Barry had better stop and go moves but Jeanty has better speed, especially long speed. He also seems to have a knack of avoiding direct, hard contact.
Ashton Jeanty reminds me of Trent Richardson in terms of height and build. He runs with the same aggressive style, great balance, and power to run through defenders while maintaining solid speed. In many ways, he’s like a more refined, modern version of Richardson-Trent Richardson 2.0.
Running backs usually fall into one of three buckets: speed/agility, power/balance, or vision/patience. The top tier running backs can do 2 of these 3 things well. The all time greats can do all 3. Jeanty is in that group.
Im grew up in Boise and I have been to several of this guys games and he is the real deal. Im also a Raiders fan and hopefully we can pick him up he seems to be a generational talent at rb
You gotta do a video regarding his balance and body control, especially when breaking tackles and continuing to keep his vision downfield while doing so.
The thing with running backs though is that speed, and ability to turn on a dime, as mentioned here, is a forever diminishing quality. Itll never get better. Teams have adjusted to this by not splurging big on the position as they once did. So not only are RBs careers shorter, so is their ability to monetize it.
@@dominiquewilson I don't know man Jeanty is strong as hell and built like a bowling ball. His build reminds me of Maurice Jones-Drew. Those are the types of guys who can squat a thousand pounds.

Dude is for real … { prior to the transfer portal} Most teams in the Big12 and Big 10 were mostly made up of 3* players. Don’t get lost in the star rating. Many 4 and 5* players jumped into the transfer portal and are not seeing the field because they are behind a developed 3* or no* player.
More so CMC or Tomlinson, but I know what you mean due to his pass catching ability. But he is a much more instinctual and natural runner than Kamara. He has that feel for it. Kamara is actually quite a lacking running back in a lot of areas BUT he is so elite in his contact balance and slipperyness that it more than makes up for it as long as he is used correctly

The reason he can not lose speed when he changes directions is because he leg presses over 700 lb. I spoke with his trainer and he said they will not allow him to leg press anymore however Ashton believes he can probably leg press 900 lb.

Barry Sanders type abilities

Barry was more evasive in my opinion, but Jeanty might be a more physical runner. Barry is a stand alone kind of guy. There is only one Barry Sanders.

As a BSU fan/alum I've been calling Hesiman for Ashton since the off-season. Just need to get that playoff spot.
This guy should win the Heisman, but they wont give it to him.
He's going to make it so obvious they have to give it to him.
