Excellent breakdown of the various cuts. I think it is stuff us football guys/coaches know but it is really nice to see it broken down by a professional. We have been working one-cut and go (speed cut) but after seeing this we will be working on the pressure step too. Maybe the jump cut later (6-8th graders). Thank you!
So in the first clip, once the ball carrier advanced to the second level, I see that he misread his blocker, went the wrong direction, leading his blocker to hold the defender. The blocker holding the defender is the only thing that prevented to ball carrier from being tackled immediately and since he moved to the wrong side of the blocker he was met by yet another defender that caught him. Had he read and followed his block properly he could have had open field.... touchdown
