Amazing repurposing of such a beautiful church. I love the gin bar right next to the pulpit. I would definitely visit this place, which reminds me of city markets here in the States, as it's located close to our usual hotel. Your steak meal looked delicious, but I'm a seafood lover, so it's off to the Lobster/Oyster Bar for me. Thanks for sharing this delightfully beautiful and wonderful place.
Yum Yum!!! What glorious food! I love the steak and potatoes from the Italian Steak House. What a great idea to convert the church into a food court with a variety of places to eat and drink. And all with class and upper quality of food and drink. Sign me up!!! I love the plant sections! Beautiful plants. My favorite portion was the Crypt!! I would go there once per week. When I went to Paris about 15 years ago, there was a restaurant that looked just like this with brick on the curved ceilings and walls with the unique cellar type lighting. It looks like a wine cellar. I just LOVE that. And the breweries and the wines are wonderful. LOVE IT. So I actually did see your quick video on the Crypt Restaurant with the stand alone elevator in the middle of an area. Loved it. Is this the same Crypt? How unique. I really enjoyed this video. I am ready to go to the Crypt for a lovely late dinner and fabulous wine. Perhaps some Celtic music playing.
Love the atmosphere you paint for that meal, feel like a glass of red now :) This is a different place than the previous crypt one, so now found two with great places that not many know about :)
Wow... fantastic! What a really cool way to preserve history all while representing a perfectly good building. That stained glass display is brilliant. That for showing this little nugget - the food there looks good too. 'Til next time!
On my go-to list for next (?) year. So glad to see such a beautilful church not only saved but preserved. Very thoughtful and respectful re-purposing. Thanks for sharing!
What a wonderful place. If I drank alcohol 🍸, which I don't, I would feel weird drinking it in church. You didn't show the cheese area downstairs 😕😒😐😢😑🙄 unless it was the deli area you did show. I wasn't sure what the word was after cheese. The selction was just amazing and I love 💘❤💕 that you could buy a plant 🪴on the way out to complete the experience. I don't know which food I 🤔😕😐 would choose as there were too many choices. I would love to go 🚶there as many times as it took to try everything I liked the look of. If I could still drink 🍸I would love to try the gin cocktails 🍸 and some of the wines 🍷😋😀😄 as they looked like they had a great selection 😋.
Oh wow that ex church is amazing on the inside. Thank you so much for showing it. I'm glad that the church was not left to fall to pieces. In all honesty I'm not sure how I feel about a church being used as a food court type of place. Oh and that steak you had looked pretty amazing
In these misinforming times, please research about Mercato Mayfair community hub. It was a church constructed from 1825-1828. During and after World War 2, the congregation slowly fell in number and finally it was abandoned. In 1974, it was deconsecrated and in 1989, it was registered under the list of 'Buildings At Risk' Register of England. In 2014, Grosvenor proposed to transform this abandoned church into a food court and community hub. As people sympathized with the church, it was decided to keep its Greek aesthetic intact. And finally, in 2019, it was opened as a food court/dining destination. So please don't feel so emotional about it. It was an abandoned church and people sympathized with its former glory, so they kept its church style.
For some reasons and I have never been to this place before, but I will soon have a chance to go there for my friend's baby shower event. This video was film a year ago so I am guessing Sushi Tonari must be opened after that? Which I do wanna try out.
Good morning from Florida, Steve. A little irreverent (church turned market, hub), but lively, clever none the less. I like it. And as Mayfair pretty stiff, sober, generally - this a playful injection.
I'd definitely pay them a visit when I'm in town.... lovely church as well! Think I go for the pasta and perhaps a coffee and soak up the atmosphere...
Your body is actually the Spirit's house, not a human-made building. Keep your body clean, and your mind loyal and pious, that's the way faith should be. Before you make this strict statement, ask yourself, would you sacrifice your life for your faith, your family, or in another Crusade? Because I will, and I am open to this form.
Have visited 3 times. Had the steak which was beautiful. A fascinating place.
That is my favourite place to get food there and served beautifully as well 😋👍😀

Yes, the stained glass just gives you that extra wow factor :)

I know such an amazing selection and yes the cheese part was part of the deli area in the crypt, nice place to keep them cool naturally :)

Thanks goodness UA-cam hasn't invented smell-o-vision as it was delicious. Yes so good not let to fall to pieces :)
Thanks, Steve. I think my hubby and I will be checking this out at Christmas when we make it back to visit family.
That's great, it's just one of those wow places in London for both the food and ambience.... :)
I would love to find a Church and do this in Western Massachusetts! What a great place.✨
I am from (originally) Cape Cod! Falmouth, Chatham, and Sandwich.
This place is really worth to visit.

Have fun and enjoy going there and the baby shower. It's such a great place that I go back often to have a coffee or eat - just to take it in 👍😀

Great choice the pasta is delicious, went again last week and like you just sat back and took it all in - enjoy! :)
❤❤❤
I am very sad....why should the church be used as a place to eat😢
Where are the bodies?
So sad!!
I am against and strongly disagree with this!!
Why in the church? ამას გეკითხები
No sure what you mean? Thanks for watching :)
What a disrespect for the house of our lord Jesus Christ. Such a shame a holy place became a place for eating and drinking. A true blasphemy!
If it wasn't being used, what would you have happen to it? Have it fall down from neglect? Use it or lose it!
Used for the homeless, and the poor not to fill the coffers of the owner.
