Thank you so much for making these videos! So many others make a freeze drying video but don't show how it reconstitutes and tastes afterward. You always do that which makes your videos so much more useful! Again, thank you!!

Hello sir. I love your videos. I'm surprised to see fish being processed in a freeze dryer. I always heard naught to do fish in a freeze dryer as it leaves a nasty smell which is hard to remove from the dryer. I was wondering if because the fish was mixed with other food that this stopped the fish from leaving that odor. Have you ever frozen just plain fish? Thank you

Yes I have done cod and shrimp. I think pre freezing in your freezer helps a lot with left over smell in the freeze dryer.

I had to modify this cause I don’t have anything big enough to make it in, but that was quite easy. Family liked it for supper, rest went in the FD. I added more cream of celery though. Simple, good meal. Thank you!

Nice idea to make the large batches to the scale of the HR machine.

As you were making it, I was thinking maybe a little bit of your cheese and Rotel powder might be good in it. You could put it in for a little change once and a while!

I've been looking online for a good recipe, seems greek yogurt is acceptable but everyone wants to put avocados in it and I don't like them.

Thank you! I'm going to try to do this. I love tuna casserole. If my family doesn't like it that's too bad more for me :-)

Hi John love your videos! This comment is really for your fruit in cherry geliton. Remember you had to put the cherries back in because they were still stickey? Have you tried starting with dried cherries that you rehydrated maybe 1/3 to 1/2 way and use them like that and see if they would then be finished without being put back in.

Looks great, plus I have hundreds of bagged noodle meals {add meat} that I'd love to FD someday and have packed up and ready for whatever.

GREAT video we love tuna casserole-comfort food YUMMMM. We also like to use the the mixed veggies in the casserole and onions- You should add onions John- or don't onions do well in FD meals when rehydrated?

This is so funny to me. I just finished freeze drying tuna fish casserole last week! My recipe has you bake it. I'm kind of thinking I would like to do how you did it versus baking it. I like the idea of adding cream of celery soup. I might do half celery soup and half mushroom or just celery soup. My recipe you add artichoke hearts which I just love. I think I'm going to add black olives next time. I freeze dried those before and they turn out great. And they rehydrate great.

If I wasn't freeze drying this would have gone in the oven with ruffles crunched for a topping. I think it taste better from the oven and maybe next time I will still bake (I think it melds the flavor) before freeze drying. Thank You!

It would be nice if you put your recipes in your comments. This looks good! Is there a reason you switch from jars to bags?

I agree. John does an excellent job. Very very creative. Epicenter Brian used to do some fun and informative videos too but he stopped. John's videos are much more creative.

Great recipe, John! This is right up my alley! Yum! So, did you use 3 or 4 bags of the noodles? I figure the batch would have come out to about 6 or 7 trays worth?
