You’d mentioned pulling out if and when the cuts were announced. Can you do a follow up? I understand why you’d say that and appreciate the POV and think it helps people get a diversity of thought. And judging from the comments, I’m not the only one wondering where you stand now.
make your own decisions please. you have the data i've given you. i can't manage everyone's individual situations or portfolios. someone who's been in the market for 30 years and is about to retire is different than a 22 year old who recently bought stocks.
When you say you will get out of stocks, do you mean you will also sell your long term portfolio stocks and index funds? Or will you hold those and dollar cost average all the way down?

Im trying to understand what i am doing wrong when i trade the vix, i bought a put at the top of the vix spike, it went down about 5$ and i was slightly in the negative on the premium. It was a higher open interest put a month out. The spread wasnt that wide. I closed it for a slight loss but im trying to learn from it. The price action went as expected but not the trade. Any experience with that?

Some people even think we could see emergency rate cut after the bad jobs numbers... I can't see 100% stat to be turned out.

@@egon8534it’s just that once fed decides to cut now market is thinking something must be really bad. In other words fed wouldn’t cut unless things were broken.

@@egon8534the cuts are too late. It should have been done probably at the beginning of the year. Rate cuts basically mean it’s easier and cheaper for businesses and people to borrow money. The higher the rate, you’re less likely to borrow money. This impacts commercial real estate, business expansion, residential real estate, car buying, etc. the higher the rates you’re forcing the economy to contract which, in theory, should help lower inflation as the idea is there’s less money in circulation. However, the treasury just prints money, so we have both high rates and high inflation, rate cuts can fuel inflation.
